Deep in the Patagonian Andes, Pucon is a picture perfect town accessed by plane in summer or by a nine-hour drive or train ride from Santiago. A great base for adventure vacations, Pucon is crammed with visitors during summer months December, January and February. Watch molten magma ooze down Mount Villarrica, hop between hot and cold thermal pools at Termas Geometricas or take the reigns of Criollo horses to explore the Andes on horseback. For other expeditions, rent a car or mountain bike.

Our lodge offers a safe and quiet environment with a natural, harmonious environment, where you can appreciate native trees and a varied local flora and fauna. We have a view to the Villarrica Volcano, praised by our visitors that finally sets the ideal frame for your rest. And to complete your happiness, your pet is very welcome. To this is added a swimming pool, solar heated, jacuzzi under the stars, sauna in the forest, playground and barbecue. If you are looking for that longed-for reunion with southern flora, you can enjoy the most varied plants and vegetables in a native-organic greenhouse and a traditional field farm with seasonal vegetables for consumption. From the walk to the chicken coop, with your children, you can collect eggs from our Happy Hens, take them to your hut and incorporate them in your mountain breakfast.

We traveled through Chile for two weeks starting at Valapariso down to Patagonia, so we stayed in many accommodations. Magma Lodge was one of our favorites. Staying in the dome was a unique experience and I highly recommend giving it a try. We were there in late November and the dome got very warm in the daytime when the sun streamed through the top and colder in the evening. It did have a heating unit, but we did not need to use it. There is electricity and a bathroom with a shower. The room has a small refrigerator, which came in very handy, and a nice deck with a picnic table. The bed was comfortable and the lodge at the time was quiet. In fact, I think we might have been the only people there during the mid-week. The place is right on the beach and perfect to watch the sunset. Pucon is about three minutes away by car and I probably would not try to walk there as there is no real pathway or sidewalk. WiFi does not work inside the dome, but only near the administration building and spotty at that. As an international traveler, it was disappointing that the WiFi was not better. We also had a hot tub session (after climbing the volcano) and it was wonderful. Highly recommend booking a session. The staff does not speak English, but they provided us with a lovely breakfast and were friendly and welcoming. It is a charming property and I would not hesitate to stay here again.

We were two couples travelling in high season . Unfortunately there wasn't too much available in Pucon so this hotel is what we ended up with. My husband and I were on the main floor with no external windows in our room and as such it was too warm and quite stale smelling. I am not usually picky when it comes to hotels so that wasn't really the deal breaker. What was is the noise. I do like hostels that have a social atmosphere and can accept some nighttime noise in favor of some comraderie. This was not that. We were located across from what I gather is the owner Ingrid's apartment and into all our of the night there would be children yelling, appliances running and the TV on loud. Upstairs my friends complained that there were kids running through the halls and playing hide and seek. When they asked the owner to do something about it she wouldn't and it clearly seemed like they were friends and receiving some kind of preferential treatment. All this is not great when you're climbing Villarica and your start to the day is 5:3OAM. I actually took it upon myself multiple times to get up and close Ingrid's apartment door myself so the noise would travel less, it finally stuck at 1 AM. I tried to get their attention down the hallway in their apartment the first couple of times I had gotten out of bed and they couldn't hear me because the TV was so loud! Most of the people at this hostel were locals and spoke no English and most seemed cool with this dynamic and good for them. But be warned as a foreigner who like me is looking for either a social experience or the ability to go to bed to enjoy the outdoor adventures of Pucon this place is probably not for you. Other than that breakfast is fine. There are tasty eggs and Ingrid seemed nice enough. She has no English. Value for money not great compared to other places in the area I would say. If you do end up there be sure to pay cash because credit card is much more expensive.

Not like other hostels, it’s a former private house. But a very lordly house with huge, very huge, rooms (we had a private double room) and the most adorable host we met on our travels so far. No breakfast but a very tidy kitchen. Well located.

We loved the double room we stayed in. The private bathrooms were clean and newish. The bedroom had a little heater and super comfortable beds. There was a fire in the commonroom and a good breakfast in the morning. The tour agency was cheap for guests and very professional. They only did the volcano climb if the weather was perfect and their guides were safe and professional. The only reason we didn't stay more than one night was because it was a bit too expensive for our budget. But frankly an awesome hostal.

I've just been to Cabanas Copayapu with my family. We spent 10 days there. The place was so beautiful and green that my daughters used the word "magical" to describe it. The view of the Lake and the Volcano Villarrica were amazing. My daughters took great photos! Our cabin was very clean and had everything we needed. The beds were very comfortable and cosy. We also enjoyed the pool and the hot tub very much. Ricardo and Marcela (the owners) were very friendly and gave us lots of information about the attractions around Pucón, which was very helpful. It was a lovely holiday. I totally recommend this place! I hope to come back sometime in the future.
