Sjoa Hostel is scenically situated in tranquil surroundings between the rivers Sjoa and Gudbrandsdalslagen. Sjoa Hostel is originally a farm from the 1200s, but we offer accommodation and facilities of a good standard, whether you choose family cabins or 2, 3 or 4 bed room in the new department. All our rooms and apartments have private bathrooms. Buffet breakfast and other meals are served in the main building from 1747, where the open fireplace and log walls provide a very special atmosphere. In addition Sjoa Hostel offers good and varied activities for young and old, including rafting, canyoning, river boarding, rope activities, mountain riding and musk safari. From us you have an excellent starting point for hikes in the mountains, with short distance to the national parks Rondane, Jotunheimen and Dovrefjell. River Sjoa is also suitable for fishing with rod and fishing is free at the hostel grounds. Welcome to Sjoa Hostel.
We stayed here because the white water rafting trip leaves from there and it was convenient. It's grounds are pretty but the rooms are kind of like dorm rooms. Not a big deal. They're clean. The guy running the place was very nice as well.

Lillehammer Fjellstue, situated only 15 minutes from the city center by car, is a good and reasonable alternative to hotels in Lillehammer city center. Stay in our nice cabins at Nordseter Hytter or in our lovely apartments at Nordseter Apartments. Our apartments have a balcony and a panoramic view towards Lillehammer. We offer free internet connection to all our guests as well as complemantary parking. You are welcome to bring your pet at no extra costs. From our inhouse bakery, we sell fresh baked bread in the morning In our tourist information you can phurcase tickets to our main attractions in the area, or you can get some information about what to see and do in Lillehammer during your stay with us. Calm and quietness, hospitality and personal service are very important to us. We are a personal family run business, and we care about each of our guests. We will do our outmost to make your stay with us memorable.

Lemonsjoe Mountain Lodge is well known for its Norwegian kitchen. We offer accommodation; 10 independent cabins and 4 rooms in the main building. The Lemonsjoe area is perfect for summer activities like traditional hiking, close to the famous Besseggen, possibilities for biking and fishing. The winter offers great cross country tracks and downhill slopes.
We arrived for check in just before 8pm after a long day of driving, and even though the kitchen closed at 8 they waited for us to unload the car and then served us dinner, which was really very much appreciated. The cabin was nice and spacious, there's no tv or wifi within the cabin which wasn't important for us but I'm sure it would be for some. I was a little disappointed that there was a road between the cabin and the lake; "lake view" created something in my mind, but the road isn't busy and is well covered by trees so I bearly actually noticed it during the 4 night stay. Super helpful family ran business in a nice location, with comfortable accommodation, would recommend :)

Stayed here for a night on the way from Trondheim to Oslo. The hotel is at a historic farm in Gudbrandsdalen. Its a small family run place, with only a few room. Our room had the amenities you would expect, was spacious and had a nice view. An excellent breakfast was included with the room, and the hotel also offers dinner in the afternoon, which was very good. Had an excellent stay here, much more personal than a big chain-hotel. A lot of old Norwegian history around the hotel if you want to explore.

An attractive and modern mountain hotel in a magnificent setting. The hotel is situated 1000 meters above sea level terrain at the beginning of Rondane National Park, 120 km north of Lillehammer and 8 km from the E6. The location is stunning with panoramic views and surrounding mountains. Access by car or train to Otta and from there by bus.
Looking for a place to relax for the Autumn, I came across the hotel, via Trip Advisor, and I must state that the description of the hotel needs to be upgraded - It was fantastic - in all ways. The service was excellent provided by Tore & his team, even clearing the snow, by hand, to our cottage in the morning before breakfast. When one defines breakfast, on our first morning, we were only two quests staying, BUT, we had the perfect selection - just for us ! Evening meal was also an experience, very traditional Norwegian food, and plenty of it. Arriving for an Autumn break, within 2 hours we realised we were having a WINTER break !?! But, this was well solved by the management. For me the Cottage - Nystugu, has great views, and a perfect solution. Thanks again for a fantastic stay, We will be back.

Welcome to the mountains! At the gateway to Rondane, Norway’s first national park, Smuksjøseter Fjellstue lies 1130 meters above sea level, in the heart of the mountain world. The Skaugen family welcomes you to the mountains. Close to nature At Rondane Smuksjøseter Mountain Lodge you have the opportunity to stay at either single or double room, in apartment or cabin. The lodge is placed by the border of Rondane National Park in Norway beside a beautiful lake. Stunning views and quite surroundings. During winter it can only be reach on skis or you can hitch hike on the snowmobile that has daily departures from Høvringen. The restaurant serves home made, local food.
We had booked a weekend stay for a larger group. The owners clearly did not have an overview of our booking. Many different prices and a lot of mistakes done regarding bed linen, apartments and rooms. The schedule for our weekend main meal was changed to an earlier hour, due to the fact that the owners had double booked for two large parties at the same night. This resulted in a lack of staff for our three course dinner highlight - which was not a highlight at all. The staff was clearly not quialified, they did not know the serving concept and were not co-ordinated at all. Drinks were served 25 minutes after the first course, and all parts of the group had to order seperately. The main course was served before everyone had finished their first course. The dessert was served when half the group was still eating their main meal! The staff was uninformed, inexperienced and not service minded - poking several guests asking if they were finished with their meal. The service personell did not speak the local language at all, a big drawback when several of the guests were elderly and that the hotel and location brags of being a local and tradional destination. In addition, when the owners were contacted in order to better the situation, the owner blamed our group and the organization of the event, even though they were the ones responsible. Truly a fiasco event. The food was nice, especially the main course, but the first course was at a minimum and the whole three course menu was served within an hour. Not acceptable! The two-night stay was not nice - very expensive and not worth the trip unless you truly love the mountains. Hopefully, the owners will step up their game, get a grip of the organization structure and reduce the prices. This was not a success.

Went by for waffle and hot chocolate and paid 80 NOK. The chocolate was very watery and probably a poorly mixed instant powder chocolate. The waffle was very dry and just tasted weird. Not worth it guys. (didn't stay there, only went for lunch)
