Rusinga exudes an atmosphere of serene tranquility. The manicured, velvet lawns stretch to the water’s edge and the grounds, with its exotic trees, are a haven for a myriad of bird species – many of which are unique to this area of Kenya. Rusinga’s renowned hospitality, delicious home-grown, home-cooked food and indulgent accommodation combine to offer an ideal base from which to explore other areas of Kenya and the perfect mid-safari break. The Lodge is open all year round
Rusinga Island Lodge is an excellent location for a holiday. It is pristine and very serene. The sunsets along the lake shore are wonderful accompanied by the sounds of the waves from lake. One wakes up to the sound of the chirping birds every sunrise which is so so amazing. To top it all up the customer service is great and the meals are fresh. The bar offers exotic cocktails both alcoholic and non-alcoholic.

This is one of the most beautiful places I've visited in Kenya. Serene environment. Wonderful and welcoming staff. Being an adrenaline junkie, the high ropes and zip lining were it for me. The food was also amazing.. I'll highly recommend Nguge Hills resort to everyone. I can't wait to go there again next month, for camping this time round.

I have tried several 'hotels' in and around Oyugis and I have no hesitation in recommending Jabali Country Lodge. It is by far the best. The rooms are well appointed. The wifi is not great, but it is better than anywhere else in the area. The menu is much more varied than any other restaurant or hotel in the area and the staff are very friendly and willing to help. Unlike so many hotels with a printed menu, the majority of the items on the menu ARE available ! I stayed for a week in February and for another week in August. I will CERTAINLY stay there again.

Rooms look clean on the outside but are poorly maintained. They don't wash the pillows, the curtains and mosquito nets are dusty and stuffy, the rooms smell of sewerage. AVOID restaurant. Very notorious for food poisoning. The hotel is very poorly managed and needs a lot of improvement is room hygiene and food hygiene.

Welcome to Ufanisi Resorts; it truly is “a good place to be The facility provides services and facilities for business and leisure travelers including a complimentary Wi-Fi, a soon to be opened fitness center, state of the art SPA Centre, a contemporary eco-friendly swimming pool as well as modern conference services.
Ufanisi Resort in Kisii is a very pleasant place. I have been here several times and staying here this week and I can tell you it has always been fun and refreshing. The forest theme all over makes it looks so natural and provide very fresh air. It is quite and calm at all times. The staff are courteous and always very supportive. They have good facilities, may not be said to be top notch but good enough for a comfortable stay. Their rooms are clean, well carpeted and beds are comfortable. I would recomends it any time. Just a slight improvement needed on consistency of their electricity supply. Keeps going off and on and is disruptive especially when making presentations in a training or workshop. Work on this and and i would give a five star.

They only serve Chicken or Fish as the main meals. Waitress are shockingly rude and very unprofessional. I would not recommend this place to anyone. They seem to know that the area has few alternatives and thus frustrate and treat their customers with contempt. Waitress told us to go and never come back.

My group of 16 foreign students stayed in the main house and shared rooms at the Eco Lodge and they absolutely loved their experience. We were able to reserve them rooms at an affordable rate and the staff at the hostel was very helpful and friendly. Rooms were very clean and separated by gender. Myself and my colleagues were provided ideal accommodations separate from the group. Safety was never an issue and all the group's property was secure. The meals at the farm restaurant were preplanned and tasty and the chefs can cater to whatever dietary restriction that you might have. The bar by the bar has all of your beverage needs covered. The livestock is not overly noisy and a tour around the premises provides a fun afternoon! I would highly recommend staying here whether you are traveling in a group or just a solo traveler. While it is 45 min outside of Kisumu, it offers many tranquil qualities that you can not obtain in the city. Do not miss this place if you are coming to Western Kenya!
