Dubbed "Little England" due to its cool climate and colonial-era bungalows, Nuriwaya Eliya boasts a landscape far more dramatic than Britain's. Mist-shrouded mountains and terraced tea plantations surround the former hill station, while world-class brews are abundant.

Speak to our Yoho Bed representatives to find out more on the nearest attractions, things to do and other experiences in the area.
We didn't expect much for £9 a night, but we ended up having the whole hotel to ourselves. The owner was fantastic and helped us with any question and also brought us a fantastic breakfast. Nanu Oya doesn't really get any tourists so expect a bit of 'local' life as you bump into tea pickers walking to and from work outside the hotel. Please can the owner contact me or post a reply with Asok's number as I think I got the incorrect one and tried to message him whilst we were in Sri Lanka. Thank you for letting us film for our channel Parks Travel Guide!

The location of Hill cottage is great, walking distance to the town. Garden looks great and Siva the caretakers helps us a lot. Highly recommended. However its better if they can arrange the better meals plans to the menu.

Very clean and comfortable location with walking distance of lake Gregory and the race course. The owner and staff were extremely friendly and accommodating! They even arranged a tour for us on the festival day. Very quiet location and gorgeous views of Nuwara Eliya and Adam’s Peak

This was our second visit to Lourdes Hotel Nuwara Eliya and it is my favourite place to stay in Nuwara Eliya. The hotel is beautiful and the staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are comfortable and the bathrooms are clean and equipped with modern amenities. You can relax and enjoy the view near the large windows in the common relaxing areas. Food is tasty. I thank Mr. Upali the Manager for all his kind support. We enjoyed our stay at Lourdes alot. Hope to go there for third time as well and recommend this hotel for all travellers...

It is a beautifully renovated and charming bungalow. Central location. Very courteous staff. It is true that our bathroom was dark (no outside window) and (as in many places in Sri Lanka I found) with a bit of a musty but not overwhelming odour - I suppose in that climate those places never really dry out totally. Returning on our first afternoon, I found the rooms not made - after requesting housekeeping, they were cleaned immediately - no housekeeping issues subsequently. Breakfast was very good. Nice touch to have a pool table for guests' use. I would visit again.

A GREAT host (all the info & answers you need), a beautiful cosy room, a clean bathroom, a garden with an amazing view, a family that takes care of you at all costs. Just amazing. Sam (the host) makes you feel welcome and loved, you can ask him literally anything. Heart-warming ❤️
