Larch and birch forests, legendary stones, moors and bogs, lakes in the valleys signify that you are in Limousin ! In this wild beauty country, yurts have all found their place naturally. You will enjoy the comfort of this nomad habitat and the richness of its furnishing. In the morning, you will be served a sumptuous breakfast at the farmp, ideal for hiking enthusiasts. Our five yurts are manufactured in Mongolia by a cooperative of craftsmen. They are made up of wooden frame covered with several layers of fabric : insulating felt, waterproof canvass, canvass facing... The 'yurt-rooms" can accomodate a maximum of four persons (surface area : about 27 m2). They are set up on a raised wooden floor and are fully furnished : 1 queen-size bed (140cm), 2 single beds (90cm), coffee table, stools, safe etc. The yurts are lit and are heated in April and October. Each bed has the following : duvet, blanket, and pillow (you can bring along sheets, duvets, duvet covers and pillowcases). Bathrooms are shared (toilet block with 3 shower cubicles, 2 toilets, 2 external tubs). Depending on the options, breakfast is served in a room on the farm.
Very last minute, during our road trip from Belgium to France, we came across this place. Search criteria was “yurt” because we always wanted to see one. But o my... these are wonderful! Nice interior, enough luxury, spacious and very clean. Shower house a few metres away : also extremely clean. Olivier and Christophe are the hosts and they do their utter best to make your stay as pleasant as possible. In spite of heavy rain, we had a nice short break here. I highly recommend this place!

We stayed here one night. Friendly help from Pantxika who helped us up the stairs (no elevator!) with our luggage and gave us excellent restaurant suggestions. The towels could use a refresh -- my only "ding".

We stayed here on the way home to England. It's not far from the main auto route but could be a million miles away. Lovely drive up to a stunning Chateau which has obviously gone under quite some renovation. We were the only people staying and were well looked after by the member of staff on duty (My French too poor to even get his name). Our room was lovely. We had a lovely 3 course evening meal and a good continental style breakfast. We did not use pool or Hot tub or sauna for lack of time. It's set in beautiful grounds and a really lovely experience. Great stay and thanks to the guy who looked after us.

We spent one magical night in the Tanganika Lodge, which was perfect for the 3 of us. We had worried about the lack of A/C (and it was a very warm day) and, perhaps also, we thought we might miss the TV. But, NO - who can bother about such things when the view is of giraffes, various antelopes and preening ostriches? We particularly loved the odd friendship between a donkey and a ram! The lodge was very comfortable and was spotless. Sunset was glorious. We were made to feel very welcome and would love to return!

Charming and quiet hotel nearby the seaside.
Positives - So close to the sea front, great price considering. Quiet road with plenty of parking. Quite a modern feel and everything you need for a short stay We didn’t have breakfast so can’t comment. Negatives - Room quite small, considering we had the superior it wasn’t very big, would be hard to stay for more than a couple of nights. Blanket that has been put on the bed clearly wasn’t washed, when we took it off it was covered in sand and this got all over the clean bedding underneath. I’d rather no blanket if it’s too difficult to wash! Bathroom needed a deep clean as grout in shower was mouldy and a lot of cobwebs throughout room but key elements were ok. No air con which I don’t mind but impossible to leave window open because our room opened on to the gravel car park and people were walking backwards and forwards all night setting all the security lights off and crunching the gravel - take your ear plugs when it’s hot! Charge was advertised at €10 euros for a dog. This is expensive compared to similar hotels, not sure what the €10 pays for as it feels like sand is a bigger problem in the rooms than my dog that doesn’t shed any hair and brings her own bed! If it was immaculate, I understand, but for an extra mop of the floor which should be completed after each stay anyway this seems a bit excessive. Maybe a deposit system instead?

Charmante Structure de Chalets et Cottage Bois tout confort, climatisé, disposant d un service restauration à la carte, d un espace aquatique tropicalisé
This place is quite affordable especially in september. I went there with friends for a week and we had quite a blast. The home was a tad small and our beds were broken, but past those irks it was alright: clean, well-furnished and comfortable. The real asset here is the owner Stephane. He was very friendly and can advise you whenever you have a question. He delivers bread to your door and organises an activity each day. The cherry on the cake is that a local shop sponsors the place and offers a welcome buffet!

Perfect place for a weekend retreat, the cabins are extremely well equipped. Comfortable beds, good quality towels and bathrobes. The jacuzzi and sauna was great. Excellent coffee machine and a mini bar if you needed it.
