We came here just for one night because we wanted to see Mont Saint-Michel. Happy it was just one night. The place is really worn down. Looks quite sad and it goes even down to the towels. The towels were so worn they even had holes. The place was not properly cleaned with old spider webs, sticky floor, definitely not cleaned underneath the table and the kitchen didn’t even have a proper mug to make yourself a cup of tea. The beds were hard as sleeping on the floor, even our small daughter complained. For seeing the monastery fine but don’t expect anything!

We loved our stay! The bed was super comfortable and big. The room was huge. Everything was spotless. The bathroom was good as well as the shower. Breakfast was superb: crossaints, cake, bread, jam, yoghurt, fruit, orange juice, coffee, chocolate...and many of these things were home made. The location is wonderful. Quiet and great to explore everything around Utah Beach. The host was extremely nice and hospitable. It was definetely one of (if not the) best accomondation on our two-week-trip through France. Wifi could have been better.

L'Ame du Gourmand is an excellent choice for travelers visiting Pontorson, offering a romantic environment alongside many helpful amenities designed to enhance your stay. You’ll enjoy relaxing rooms that offer a flat screen TV, and you can stay connected during your stay as L'Ame du Gourmand offers guests free wifi. The bed and breakfast features executive lounge access, a sun terrace, and a coffee shop. Plus, L'Ame du Gourmand offers a pool and an on-site restaurant, providing a pleasant respite from your busy day. For guests with a vehicle, there is free public parking available nearby. Given the close proximity of popular landmarks, such as Foie Gras From Mont (2.2 mi) and Le Moulin de Moidrey (2.3 mi), guests of L'Ame du Gourmand can easily experience some of Pontorson's most well known attractions. If you’re looking for a French restaurant, consider a visit to La Casa de Quentin, Eugenie, or Le Brazza, which are all conveniently located a short distance from L'Ame du Gourmand. If you’re looking for something to do, Notre Dame de la Paix de Pontorson (0.2 mi) is a nice way to spend some time, and it is within walking distance of L'Ame du Gourmand. Enjoy your stay in Pontorson!
The room at the hotel was a bit of the old-fashioned French variety with each bath fixture opening directly into the bedroom without sound isolation. For the price it is fine but I would advise staying closer to Mont St. Michel as the hotels are more up to date although lacking in charm. The breakfast was copious and included in the price and one can help themselves to coffee or tea at any time which is a lovely aspect to the place. the town is rather drab but does have many boulangeries and restaurants and creperies and was chosen by me because there is a public bus to take to Mont St. Michel from the railroad station, about a block away. The parking situation fro Mont St. Michel sounded really complicated so I tried to avoid it by stqying in Pontorson, but now that I have been there, I think the parking would have been fine. Very nice to sit at breakfast and talk with other guests from other countries.

La Ferme Des Montaigu, Self Catering Gite & B&B is the perfect place to stay, relax in the beautiful Normandy Countryside. We are set in 3 acres of beautiful gardens, orchard and grassland, for everyone to relax and enjoy. Ideally situated near the market town of Villedieu Les Peoles making all the major attractions easily accessible.
Pros: It is a very family friendly and quiet place. Annie and Jean-Pierre are excellent hosts. Family room with lake view was big. Breakfast was amazing, especially home made crepes and jams. Kids were happy to run around, swing and watch a donkey, goats, a hen and cows. There is a beautiful lake so don't forget your fishing rod. We used a washing machine and dried the clothes outside - great help with small kids. Cooking facilities are fine too. Kids enjoyed pasta and we had plates with different French cheeses and meat. Location is great for visiting St Michael and other points of interest in lower Normandy. We absolutely loved Abbaye de Hambye wich is very close to the farm. Jean-Pierre doesn't speak English and there is no English TV but it wasn't a problem at all. Now our French is better. I would recommend this place. Thank you for everything. Cons: Mold in a bathroom and smell of damp in a room but it was ok when windows were open. WiFi isn't great probably because of remote location. No mobile phone network coverage.

The owner is very friendly and always available, very accommodating to the needs of her customers. Prices are reasonable and breakfast is included next door which is also a great place to eat at. We highly recommend it!

Auberge très chaleureuse et conviviale. Endroit parfait pour se reposer. Chambre et salle de bain très propre. Literie en très bonne état. Petit déjeuner largement suffisant avec viennoiseries à disposition. Je recommande cet endroit. ?

We pre-booked this hotel for the last night of a 5-day cycling trip from St. Malo to Caen (which wandered about a lot) and arrived absolutely soaked having cycled the past 2 hours through heavy thunderstorms. The owners shared our mutual comedy ! Within minutes we were showered and into dry clothes and seated in the small dining room tucking into hearty lamb shanks washed down with a delicious pinot noir. Breakfast the next day was buffet-style but with the chef's own jam and just what we needed. The owners moved here from Paris just over a year ago and obviously love Jazz - which played in the dining room, and the beautiful scenery of the Marais which is portrayed on the breakfast room walls. Clean, functional, welcoming, and recommended.

Welcome to the Manoir de Clerisson! Built in the 15th century, when England still laid claimed to this part of France during the 100 Years’ War, the thatched roof house has been lovingly restored with 21st century comforts. We have the top four ‘epis’ classification under the Gites de France rating system. We offer a double bedroom with en suite facilities and a separate loft that we have designed as a self-contained ‘apartment’ with its own kitchenette, lounge, bathroom and accommodation for three people. Whether you stay in the bedroom or the loft, breakfast is included in the nightly tariff . To help you start your days with a healthy, hearty breakfast, we offer you a range of French bread, croissants, home-made preserves and flans, as well as yoghurt, juice, fresh fruit, nuts and, of course, tea or coffee. We pride ourselves on using local producers and insist on organic products in everything we present to our guests. During winter months, we supplement the central heating with a big, open wood fire in the dining room. If you just want to relax, then sit in the garden. Or we’ll loan you bicycles to wander around the local scenery. One of the famous ‘voies vertes’ passes through Sourdeval and allows you to explore the countryside without being troubled by motor vehicles. If the car is your favoured means of transport though, we’re within an easy drive of all the main Norman attractions: Mont St Michel, the ‘D-Day’ beaches, the copperware of Villedieu-les-Poeles or the Bayeux Tapestry. If fishing (trout, salmon) or golf are your thing, those are both local too! Drop us an email to say when you would like to come and stay!
We spent one night at this beautiful property during a 4 day cycling trip through Normandy following the cycle route from Mont St Michel to the landing beaches. The property is only a couple of minutes off the 'voie verte' and is a real hidden gem. The property, which is an old Manor House, has been beautifully restored over many years by the owners Hervé and Françoise and it is surrounded by a stunning garden with flowers and fruit trees/bushes. Although the property is only about 5 to 10 minutes walk from the centre of Sourdeval, where there are shops and restaurants, it is an oasis of calm and well off the main road. We arrived late afternoon after a long hot day of cycling and were welcomed by the owners with a cool drink of fruit juice and delicious homemade cake. We spent some time talking to them and enjoyed hearing about the way they had restored the property and also discussing their garden. We stayed in the double room which is accessed via a stone spiral staircase and which is extremely spacious with a very large en suite bathroom and a small sitting area (with a good wifi signal as well!). Françoise recommended a good restaurant in Sourdeval (Beurre et Confiture) and made a reservation for us. The real 'icing on the cake' was the wonderful breakfast we had in the morning, probably one of the best we have ever had when staying in France, with bread, pastries, homemade jam, yoghurt and a delicious rice pudding. We cannot recommend this chambre d'hote enough.

If you're in this area for the history, as most people are, then there is no better place to stay. If you're looking for Ritz Carlton type accommodations then look elsewhere. This place has so much history attached to it it gave me goose bumps. The property was basically ground zero on June 6th 1944 when the 82nd Airborne parachuted in to kick off the D Day invasion. The owner, Yves Poisson, is a walking encyclopedia for the events that occurred here. The property is a shrine to the 82nd Airborne. Many of the survivors have stayed here and the rooms are named after some of them. There is a monument right across the street honoring them. Three medals of honor were awarded for battles that took place on this property. What more could you possibly want from a stay here? To give this property a bad review, as someone did, for poor wifi and threadbare towels is baffling to me. The owners were so gracious and helpful we actually gave them a gift on our departure. It was an experience of a lifetime. We will never forget it.
