Drifting serenely in the Gulf of Thailand, the palm-fringed island of Ko Tao takes its name from the abundant sea turtles that reside on its shores. White sand beaches sheltered by steep hills – some only accessible with four-wheel drive vehicles – and 300 days of sun per year invite long afternoons of lounging.

We spent a lovely week with our 2 kids at Mountain Reef Beach Resort. Tanote Bay is beautiful, with great snorkeling right at your doorstep. We had the beach front family bungalow (fan), very clean, spacious, nicely designed, with 2 large beds with mosquito nets, a fancy bathroom and a fridge. The owner Cho is very friendly and helpful! Breakfast is very tasty! A couple of nice restaurants on the beach cater for everything you need. We‘d always come back!

Renovated in 2014, the Aukotan Place Hotel guarantees guests a pleasant stay whether in Koh Tao for business or pleasure. The excitement of the city center is only 2.9 km away. With its convenient location, the hotel offers easy access to the city's must-see destinations.
We had been on the island for over a week already, staying near Sairee beach. We decided to change the scenery and landed here. Beds were really comfortable ( after sleeping on a rock hard bed for a week) , nice size room, super clean, TV (2 English channels) refrigerator, A/C, safe, hot water shower and small balcony with no view (mostly for smokers?) continental breakfast included ( breads, pastries, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, cereals, coffee, tea and juices.) Rooms are made up if you put the sign. 2 small water bottles supplied per day if you ask for them or have your room done. They picked you up at pier or Sairee beach when you arrive and they have free shuttles at various times every day for Sairee beach and pier. Staff was friendly enough, Term at reception speaks some English, was helpful, booked our ferry to Koh Pha-ngan. Huge store downstairs with everything you could want or need. It is a 20-30mins walk to either Sairee or Freedom beach (either side of island) Many restaurant or bars options within walking distance ( try next door NAMHASIN HOUSE AND CAFE, good food, super friendly staff)

Discover an island oasis at our welcoming accommodations featuring complimentary Wi-Fi and scooter rentals. Conveniently located in central Sairee, we are just steps from Koh Tao's most popular beach. Our clean private and shared rooms are an excellent value, and we have a friendly staff that can help arrange local activities. With our onsite restaurant, bar and coffee shop, you won't have to go anywhere else. As a popular choice for hotels near Koh Tao, book a room with us to enjoy this beach paradise at its finest.
Very big room with soft bed, a tv and 2 fans. That was nice Because it was very Hot during our stay. Also good bathroom, with a small wall to split the shower and toilet. Very nice that not everything is wet after you take a shower. Owner is not much around, but you can ask the neighbours if you need him. A little far from the pier, but close to the beach, restaurants, 7/11.

Great service, even helpful with ferry transfers. Place is restful and relatively quiet for Koh Tao. Across the street is an outdoor restaurant and popular hangout for all aspiring divers. ??? padi

Nestled in the hills of Koh Tao you will find Karo Villas. A place designed for couples who want to come and enjoy all this island paradise has to offer. Each villa offers spectacular views over the Gulf of Thailand including Koh Phangnan, Koh Samui and Chalok Ban Khao Bay.
The best part of my trip is this Karo Villa. This villa provided luxury comfort with the exclusive private. You can see the million dollar view just from your bed and the pool. The bed is so comfy. The maid provide excellent cleaning service everyday so the place is super clean and new. The owner, Jimmy, took very good care of us. He gave tips where to go what to eat. Even provide cellphone inside the villa. Highly recommend to all couples who want to have romantic trip with good value! We would love to move in to this villa. ❤️

Holy moly talk about a room with a view. My Partner and I stayed 6 nights in the beach front bungalows for 1800 TB - The Bungalow was AMAZING! It was right on Sairee Beach, clean sheets, towel, bathroom and room. Our room was cleaned every morning and sheets, towels were changed as well. The location was on point, within walking distance to a number of beachfront resturants aswell as a local food hall not far down the road. We had our own front veranda, to watch the sunset with an ice cold beer and fruit juice and melt the heat away. It can get noisy at night as many people walk along the beach to get back to their own places - However we found this rather entertaining as we had a group singing in Russian on evening it was a hoot. Highly recommend the Prik-Thai and will definately return !

We stayed at the Grand beach resort for 5 nights. The lady who runs the reception was very lovely. Right on the beach and the best view of the sunset in Koh Tao in my opinion. Room was very nice and clean, fresh towels at your request and you can get your room cleaned everyday if you want. Little noisy as it is right on the beach next to quite a few restaurants and bars. With ear plugs it was just fine. Great location to all the night life in Koh Tao and other restaurants. The restaurant connected to the property had lots of great food options with a nice sunset happy hour selection. Only downfall is there are many noisy birds in the area, but that is Thailand :) Would definitely stay again.

Nirvana a different concept of hospitality. Nirvana House in Koh Tao,Thailand is a family run business that will make your holidays an unforgettable one.We have 8 spaciously designed rooms, furnished with Balinese teak, Thai silk and complete with Satellite TV, Free WiFi, Fridge, Air-con + fan, Safe-Box, Hot shower...Most of our rooms have amazing sunset and sea view.
I spent 5 nights here upon arriving to Koh Tao. It’s a very good location to explore the area near the pier. There’s plenty of restaurants and cafes nearby. For good, cheap Thai food, I recommend the place across the street called Long House. They have the best Pad Thai I had on the island for 70baht. We stayed in the superior double room at the end of the hall on the second floor. The balcony had a great view of the bay and the street below. Unfortunately the view is obstructed by a bug buzzing power pole, but it was still nice. The room is very spacious. It has a big, comfortable bed with 2 side tables. There’s a sizeable closet, a safe (don’t know if it worked), 2 comfortable sitting chairs, a large counter with a pull out desk stool, a box tv, and a good mini fridge. The key turns on/off the power, but the plugin over the counter is on a different breaker, so you can leave stuff to charge if need be. The AC wasn’t very strong, but the ceiling fan over the bed more than made up for the deficiency for the AC. It wasn’t super hot during our stay, but the room was always a comfortable temperature. The bathroom was clean and pretty big. It’s a wet room, but the tile for the shower area is down a half step, so things stay relatively dry. I’ve read reviews about poor water pressure, but I didn’t find that to be the case at all. The pressure and the temp control were both great. One of the better showers we’ve had in SE Asia, honestly. Reception gives you fresh bottles of water everyday. There’s hot water available for coffee/tea in reception as well, but we never had it. Negatives: the wifi didn’t work very well and was prone to disconnect, but that seemed to be an issue all over the island. It should be noted that reception closes at 830pm. So if you arrive later than that, I’m not sure if you’ll be able to check in. I didn’t realize this until after I booked on booking.com. Our ferry arrived at 730, so we made it in without issue, but I would have liked to know before I made a non-refundable booking. Overall, we had a very comfortable stay. If you want to stay close to the pier, this is a great option.
