Nepal Cottage Resort, newly built property as per travelers choices, nearby vibrant touristy hub, is located in Thamel. Four detached buildings, including conference hall and dinning hall, comprise 24 rooms. All rooms have air condition, hot and cold shower, satellite TV, and broadband internet facilities. As all building are two storied and all top floor every single room has private balcony.
The hotel service is top. The owners are running the hotel by themselves so you can be sure of the quality. Staffs are very friendly. Reasonable price for good and clean room. You can also have lunch and dinner here. There are pomelo trees and guava trees in front of the building that we can taste :) just be careful with the mosquito. The hotel provides an electric mosquito repellant in the room. The hotel is very well located. It is so close to Thamel area where you can find everything. Thamel area could be very busy and noisy but we do not hear any noise from our room. We have a very good sleep here.

Dahachok Homestay is situated just 10 KM west from the Kathmandu City Central. Dahachok is known as the historic place, having green lawn, located in very peace, cozy environment near the forest. It has 5 rooms with Kitchen, Western style toilet, Free WiFi, hot and cold shower, serve organic Nepalese cuisine. Despite increasing emphasis on homestay tourism in Nepal, Homestay in Kathmandu may not be sufficient for you to know and deepen you understanding about Nepalese culture, tradition, lifestyle and livelihood. Dahachok Homestay is a privately managed homestay in Nepal aiming to help you make most out of your stay with us. . We provide occasional cultural tours, short hiking, and classes for Nepalese-style cooking, opportunities for volunteering, and offer you only organic foods grown in our kitchen garden. We want to ensure that you live as a member of our family throughout your stay with us.
I stayed at Dahachok Homestay for about one week, basically a small transit workcation. For me, it had all the things I desired: - The location is serene and quiet, while still, it is just about 20 minutes until the inner city of Kathmandu. - The air was clean, and the landscape was beautiful. One might not expect rural Nepal conditions, but it had as much nature as one can get given the proximity to Kathmandu. - On two days, I undertook day hikes to the surrounding mountains. There are some fantastic views to catch on Kathmandu and the valley, so also a good location for spontaneous hiking. - There are plenty of shops around to buy all the everyday stuff, all within a 5-minute walking distance. - The terrasse on the second floor and the desk in my room offered good working conditions. The internet, especially the mobile data, was flawless, much better than I expected. So work calls and Netflix are both possible. - The room has an excellent bed (and I am usually quite picky since I quickly develop back pain when sleeping on bad mattresses), and the rooms were clean. In addition, the bathroom provided warm water all day. - The food they offer was delicious and, which was a delight, most of the things are self-grown/organic. The menu is relatively small, but, well, it is a homestay, not a Hilton. ? And all that for a very affordable price making this homestay a great place to stay. I'll be back! ?

Solid Rock Lodge & Restaurant is an ideal get away in Dollu/Pharping 15 km from Kathmandu. Unwind at the end of a forested valley with good food, hikes and camp fire. We are at the end of the Dollu Valley, renowned for its stunning natural scenery and spiritual importance. We have a comfy restaurant set up in a traditional Nepali farm house and 6 spacious rooms in newly constructed guest cottages.
There are a few things I love about this place. The first one is definitely the people who run it. Even though it was busy when I arrived without booking before (a group of runners made a big reservation) they welcomed me with open arms and made me feel at home. I also love how beautiful and quiet the place is, it is exactly what I needed at the end of my trip. However, even though it is quiet there is a lot to do in the area as well! There are a lot of beautiful monastries and meditation caves and the hike over the small paths through the pine forest on the hills are beautiful too. I took it easy and mostly just sat around the lodge drinking lemon grass tea from their beautiful garden and reading my book. The food was great as well, very fresh and tasty. If I could have stayed longer I definitely would!

Welcome and Namaste!! Holy Lodge, which was opened 25 years ago, has recently undergone a facelift in order to cater to the growing needs of the 21st century traveller; however, it still retains its old-world charm, the ever-present warm Nepalese hospitality and unmatched comfort not to be found anywhere else. The rooms have been tailored to meet the needs of those who choose to travel alone to those who travel in the company of friends or family. Whether you want modern amenities like wi-fi internet, flat screen TVs, air-conditioned rooms, hot showers or simple basic, but clean and comfortable, rooms - we provide them. Even if you are a budget traveller, we guarantee your stay with us is "a home away from home."
A humble hotel in the heart of Thamel, with rooms and services to suit many kinds of travellers. My room was very clean, comfortable, and equipped with a hot shower and good wifi. Although the hotel itself fulfilled my accommodation needs, it was the staff at Hotel Holy Lodge that made my trip something special. Wanting to avoid touristy-tours, I asked Santosh how I should see the sights of Kathmandu. He put me in contact with a friend of his who took me around on the back of his bike to check off my sightseeing list. We ate and drank with the locals, checked out many a temple, and shared lots of laughs as well. I then got to know the other staff, who welcomed me and treated me like a brother. Although I travelled alone, I was never short of good company. Anil was fantastic, giving me a lot of great insight into life in Nepal for the locals, which he shared willingly over a couple of drinks. Dillip also provided me with great company and many laughs. It is often difficult trying to figure out the price of travel in new countries, but the guys here taught me the tricks of the trade and ensured I was getting a fair deal when out and about, and also sorted me out with domestic travel in Nepal for considerably less than other operators. Whatever you’re looking for in Kathmandu, or even the whole of Nepal, make sure to stop by this place. If not for the top-notch budget-friendly accomodation, then at least swing by to meet these honest lads and have them help you to make your trip something special.

Hotel Kumari Inn is a Tamang family run hotel providing long term accommodation in a modern, comfortable home away from home. The Goddess Kumari is a fusion of Hindu & Buddhist philosophy and reflects innocence, divinity and harmonious tranquillity. The hoteliers Prem and Lalmaya have inspired the values and design of their hotel from this beautiful and protective deity to bring you a true and authentic experience of Nepali culture. We warmly welcome you.
I stayed in the hotel for 4 weeks and had such a fantastic time in Kumari Inn. Great location, amazing view, and the best without a doubt is the people working there. Prem, the hotel owner, his wife and his staff were always friendly and helpful and available for answering any question you have. The room was very clean and comfortable with a good hot shower and a very good wifi connection. The food is so delicious with lots of variety. The hotel is a great spot near all the attractions in a very quiet area. It is a 5min walk to Ring Road and it is only a 15min ride to Thamel. It is very easy to reach all kathmandu's highlights by Taxi, micros or local busses. If you want to escape the hustle from Thamel it is the best place to stay. Thank you for making my stay in Kathmandu so enjoyable!

I spent a night there. The worst of my all trip. I’m a backpacker and am not afraid of dirty things, I used to travel economic and cheap. But this room was the worst. Everything was discussing. Carpet bed sheet towel bathroom toilet pillow !! The all room was crap. The matras was dead. The blanket to get sick. Horrible. Room Was dark. Super noisy. ( dogs and F ..pigeon) Even Hot water was absent. !! I slept totally cover as I was so revolt to enter the “bed”. I should have stayed somewhere else for sure. What a désappointement, I don’t understand people who give 4/5 stars to this creepy place. It should be forbidden to propose a place like this. Only the staff was friendly. I feel sorry to give such a bad review but please learn from it and refresh this hotel and rooms, we are backpacker ok but we are not dirty animals...! Never again there.

Everything about my stay was practically perfect! I should say that there's some variation in the different rooms. I had one of their deluxe rooms, and everything about it was indeed deluxe! My friend had a smaller room, and hers was not as nice as mine. The place is a bit hard to find for a first-time visitor, as it requires a bit of a hike along a footpath, but most of the locals can point the way. Do keep this in mind if you have a lot of luggage! I believe it's the closest hotel to the Kopan monastery, and you'll need to get out of the taxi right by the monastery's front gate. But the views of the Kathmandu valley are very nice from anywhere in this area, and there's a forest path nearby that made for a very pleasant afternoon trek. All of the staff were extremely helpful, kind and gracious. The food in their restaurant was very good, and they washed and dried some of my laundry during my stay, on a simple per kilo basis rather than charging for every item. My room included large double-paned windows with a good view of the Kathmandu valley. I stayed in January, which is a very cold time of year to visit Nepal, but every shower during my stay was as warm as I wanted, and the room got plenty of sunlight so that also helped warm the room. I wanted a place near the Kopan monastery so that I could visit there on occasion, and meditate on their grounds. The best restaurant I found nearby (at least on this trip) was the one inside the same monastery, although that's the off-site restaurant I tried, among several other options. There's also a great little gift-shop there, with some of the best prices I've ever found on yak-wool shawls. The drawback of this location is that there's not much that I found in the way of supermarkets, and going anywhere other than the Kopan monastery would likely involve a taxi ride.
