I truly enjoyed my stay at the Derrick Inn. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable- everything you need. The manager, Srini, was incredibly kind and helpful. I stayed while on a bike trip from LA to NYC. A couple days after leaving Ness City I realized I had left my favorite hat at the hotel. Srini went out of his way to help me by mailing it back to my home in Minneapolis. I am incredibly grateful that I stayed at the Derrick Inn. I highly recommend!

My 14 year old son picked this hotel because he wanted to support a small business. He did an outstanding job. Charming motel with spacious rooms. Decorated with a personal touch vs the mass hotel decor. Loved having a quilt on my bed! So homey. The beds were so comfortable…slept like a baby! There is a large sitting area to watch TV so you aren’t laying in bed the entire time. We loved the recliners.

wish I had checked out this place the first two years my daughter was at college in Baldwin City. It is a nice place, rooms are spacious and clean. Loved sitting on their deck outside the lobby and drinking coffee (they also have seats inside with TV). the little bar was also nice and I enjoyed visiting with the worker there.

Could really use some cleaning and some maintenance. The gap in the door allows cold air to come streaming through, see the picture. The cold air and the contrast of the heater makes it so you cannot set a comfortable temperature. Behind the door as you enter the room the hinge pins are coming out and there is dirt on the walls from the oil.The toilet needs cleaning, looks like it hasn’t been done for quite a while. The lampshade is got water stains and creases in it. Behind the door in the bathroom toward the ceiling you can see water stains and mold. Nice people run it but evidently they do not care since they are the only accommodations in town. The reason I’m staying here, it’s the only place in town.

This is a beautiful place to stay, Caroline was amazingly sweet to us. Seeing the hard work and love she put into the lodge was mesmerizing. My husband and I loved everything about this place. The speaker system was amazing, we could hear the birds chirping and the wonderful outdoors lulled us to sleep each night. The bathroom was amazing, it was breathtaking. The hot tub was so relaxing, we would recommend this place to all of our friends and family. We wanted somewhere where we could have time to ourselves, to enjoy each other on our anniversary, and this was the perfect place.

We stayed at The Crooked Creek Lodge for three nights and it will always be one of our best memories. Barbara, the owner; was fantastic and treated us with real "down home" kindness. Our room was great and the restaurant served good meals with always way more than we could eat. The building is furnished with an old western and hunting decor. I would highly recommend this establishment to everyone that travels thru Moline and either needs a room or a fantastic meal.
