Reviewed By eddieg941I had the privilege to visit Loango Lodge and the National Park for 4 days. The trip was organized by Donna at See Wild Travels and her communication was outstanding. She is also just a pleasure to interact with. The logistics of getting there, while multi-step, went seemlessly. That's no mean feat. The Lodge is perfectly matched to the location and Mathieu is the consummate host. For me and every other guest there he took the time to find out what we were most interested in and to develop a personalised visit plan that would match this. The guides were knowledgeable and the care and respect for the National Park evident. I work in conservation so this is an important aspect for me. The wildlife viewing was high quality but it's the distinctive landsacpes that make this such a gem. You wouldn't have to see much wildlife here to still feel you had a really special experience. The food at the Lodge was great and the accommodation really comfortable and spacious. I very much hope I get the chance to return at some stage.

As one night in Pongara Lodge (PL) costs the same as one night in Beverly Wilshire hotel (BWH) let see the difference between these 2 places: in BWH you do have hot water in BWH you do have soap, shampoo and other in BWH you do have bed linen in BWH you do have furniture in your room in BWH you do have more than 1 towel per room in BWH you are not the only quest in BWH you don't have 30 minutes Atlantic ocean power boat transfer from the capital in BWH the rate in not all included in BWH you don't have kilometres of empty beaches in BWH you are not surrounded by wildlife It is up to you to choose. I choose Pongara Lodge but I will not come back because of the price.

Reviewed By Rayne_MannAway from the city, about an hours drive from the airport, Douniya Park, is a true GEM! The expanses of well contoured nature are not the only attraction. Free range horses, a couple of baby monkeys (at the time I went), a HUGE outdoor pool, silence, silence, and beautiful silence! A dining hall, with a lounge that is so big, and tastefully ethnic, is a place you can spend your evenings at leisure. The sit out overlooks the property, and that is a visual treat! I'll come to the AWESOME food later. The rooms are all ground level, and very clean, and sufficient for you to enjoy nature that surrounds it. The bathroom is big and that is so unlike any city hotel.

Beaucoup de gentillesse des propriétaires qui font tout pour qu'on soit bien (conseils judicieux et menues réparations immédiates)... Bref, un séjour extra qu'on renouvellera avec grand plaisir !

Price range exceed expectations
Reviewed By hassan hFor $100/night I was expecting a lot more but this is an oil region and most expats works in the black gold industry hence this is at best 2 stars hotel but the service coupled with friendly staff who will go out of their way to assist you, it is quite neat and decent bed but lower your expectations and you will be fine.

Not bad considering where you are in the world
Reviewed By rangestormerHad two nights here, room was large, clean and cool. Comfortable bed, AC working and a fridge. Yes it’s basic but for a short stay it will do. Road outside does not generate too much noise. Staff are very friendly and helpful, many speak reasonable English. No iron or room safe.
