Alaska is divided into five regions: far north, interior, southwest, south central, and inside passage. Although it takes a long time to see the entire state, you can travel through the regions by boat, car, bus, or plane. Hike through the mountains, or venture out on a deep sea fishing or whale watching excursion. Get in touch with nature by camping in the wilderness, or experience your preferred degree of class and luxury in the beautiful, active cities of Anchorage and Fairbanks.

New local owners starting summer 2020. Carlo Creek Cabins offers a rich Alaskan history having been homesteaded since 1959. We are known by many for our distinctive features including black spruce burls and handcrafted log cabins. We invite you to stay nestled in the Alaska Range in a private cabin on the creek, or one of our private lodge rooms. Enjoy a restful evening on wooded acres bordered by Carlo Creek.
We enjoyed our stay. The high points are the quiet, the beautiful, relaxing Carlo Creek behind cabin 4, the accommodating staff, and convenience to some nice restaurants across the street. The cabin is rustic and very basic with a small fridge, small microwave, and small table. There is a comfortable queen bed and a twin (although a third person would be quite crowded) and two night tables.

Gary and Pam are the most welcoming, thoughtful, delightful, and hospitable hosts! The basement room and bathroom we had were newly renovated and sooo comfortable. Breakfasts are AMAZING and packed lunches for day tours were way beyond expectations! The home itself is a treasure.

Picture yourself on the deck of a beautiful cabin, pondering the serenity of the wilderness. Look for our resident moose or listen to the great horned owl in his favorite lookout tree on top of the hill. Knik River Lodge is remote enough to be true wilderness, yet just one hour by car from Anchorage. Perfectly situated for exploring Southcentral Alaska, we invite you to share our magical part of the world.
I had planned a tour with Knik Glacier Tours and wanted to stay someplace close. I found Knik Lodge and was very pleased. We were a family of 7 and had three cabins. The cabins were very nice. Had a front porch and we could watch the helicopters landing and taking off. Mosquitos were pretty bad. Microwave and refrig. Breakfast was included. It was a basic breakfast but very good. We were traveling just after the state was opening up to tourist. Most places were struggling with being short staffed and not enough guests to have the amenities all up and running. Coin laundry and we used it. This lodge is many miles from any town so you will need to eat at their restaurant. Not lots of variety and was not real impressed with the food. We did do the dog sledding the next day and it was very convenient to walk from our cabin to the lodge and helicopter.

I am the widow of a firefighter and legally disabled. I booked the cannery lodge months ago, received a confirmation and reminder, and even called to confirm our stay the day before our arrival. Upon arrival they were expecting us, acknowledged they had us on the books, and then said they booked the whole lodge to another party - SO we were turned away and literally laughed at when this lodge double booked us. Every hotel is booked. They told us we could call the Quality Inn. Seriously. Don’t give them a dime.

Welcoming environment. Victoria and kids were great historians, great cooks, AND had great suggestions on what to do in the area. Food was delish and oh my goodness - the natural beauty. Don’t miss it!!! Cabins were cozy and generously furnished. I plan to return ASAP. Good for a quiet trip alone, for a week with family, or for sportsmen/hunters. Highly Recommended.

Amazing tour. Exceeded our expectations. Thanks to guide and owner Mok. On our scheduled tour the forecast was overcast. Mok called us to ask if we would like to reschedule for the next night. We did. And because of that we saw a high activity aurora on a clear night under dark skies. The cabin was comfortable and the hospitality was great. Mok helped us with our camera settings and gave us several updates on the aurora forecast. It was a wonderful experience.

Truly the trip of a lifetime! I came with my boyfriend and left with my fiancé! I even got the award for catching the biggest “rock” fish. The fishing was incredible, the views were impeccable + the crew was literally the best!! We can’t wait to go back!
