Welcome to “The Greatest Snow on Earth” – Utah’s paradise for all outdoor enthusiasts! As host of the 2002 Winter Olympics, Park City knows how to entertain winter fun seekers. Snowboarders and skiers head for miles of spectacular slopes with deep fluffy powder and breathtaking mountain views. The Olympic Park provides family-friendly ski programs, rides and shows. Alta, Sundance, Snowbird and Brighton are other popular destinations for cross country and Alpine skiers. Those alluring snowy slopes turn to rolling wildflower fields in the summer. Golfing, fishing, horseback riding and water sports replace chilly outdoor sports adventures. Corral the family, pack a picnic and catch one of the ski lifts for an afternoon of hiking or mountain biking along scenic trails. Head to Salt Lake City, where Temple Square hosts millions of visitors a year. Bryce Canyon and Arches National Park are famous for surreal landscapes from horseshoe-shaped amphitheaters to unusual rock formations and hundreds of natural sandstone arches. Closer to home, wander along the quaint main streets of mountain villages to browse, shop and enjoy lunch at an outdoor café. At the end of the day, head home for an outdoor barbecue and an evening of games. Home rentals blend privacy, space and comfort with the cost-saving advantage of eating some meals at home.

The Family History Library has the largest collection of genealogical information in one place. The focus of the Family History Library is to help guests make personal family discoveries.
We were with the Ancestry Seekers group for a week of genealogy sleuthing, mostly for my husband's ancestors. He is a novice but received excellent assistance from the LDS volunteers and the Ancestry Seekers experts as well. The building is modern, clean, and state-of-the-art with many resources for family record searches. I can't say enough great things about the Elders and the Sisters at the Family History Library -- they are helpful and readily available at all times. It is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. weekdays (no sure about Saturday hours, but I believe they are closed on Sunday. You can even request a FREE print-out of your family tree (a FAN chart), which is HUGE -- 24" x 36" and is a 9-generational chart! We were so grateful to all of the wonderful volunteers there.

This was a fabulous experience from beginning to end. We made a bottle opener, learning how to use the tools and the forge and received personalized instruction every step of the way. The session was fun and informative and we liked the work so much we had a personalized sign made for a very reasonable price when we were done. Well worth the time and cost for something uniquely different.

Shredders around the world will tell you Utah has the best now on Earth, it's true. I've skied just about everywhere there's snow and I can attest to this fact. I've also skied at a number of resorts in SLC and my two absolute favorites are Brighton and Park City. If I were to pick between the two, I'd pick Brighton. Brighton is where I first learned to ski, and I've been back every year since 1994. I guess it's where I cut my teeth, my snowy teeth. Each year I come dreamy eyed with memories of yesteryears in my backback, hoping to add to the stash, and each year I do. If I could offer one piece of advice to anyone considering skiing, please wear a helmet, it'll save your life.

Very Beautiful! You want to a get some exercise with a view? This is the place to be. They have all kinds of different hikes. Some parking is free for two hours. If you drive a lit bit more, like around hike #3 I believe, they charge you $35 to get in to the rest of the park. The annual pass is most definitely better if you hike a lot and live near by. I believe it's $60. Make sure to bring enough water and sunscreen and obviously a backpack to carry your things. Also all the shuttle buses are free so you can either use that or a bike
