Every year thousands of hipsters, groupies, and die-hard fans flock to Austin for the annual South by Southwest festival, which has catapulted the Texas city up the must-visit charts for many travelers. The sandstone Capitol building is symbolic of the Lone Star State’s "bigger is better" mentality, featuring a gorgeous whispering gallery rotunda and 22 acres of grounds. Cool off with a dip in Barton Springs, a huge natural limestone pool that’s fed by underground sources.

Came into town to visit my daughter and needed something to do during a rainy day. Found this place on TripAdvisor and Yelp and thought it sounded like fun. We reserved our two spots online for the Project Social Happy Hour, which runs from 3-6pm during the week and offers a few of the projects at a discount. It was obviously a very quiet day and we were the only people there during that time. It was so fun doing our projects! I chose the long necklace with the fringe and my daughter chose the little card wallet. The folks working there were very helpful when we had questions while we were working. Loved the bonding time with my 24 year old daughter best of all! Would highly recommend this for girls night out.

The mix was couples, friends, teens and like us, seniors with adult kids. The painting was one that was designed to be done on two canvasses with the couples each doing one half and then putting them together. Those of us who weren’t couples just turned our canvas horizontally and did both halves on one canvas. They supply the canvas, paint and brushes. You supply the wine or beverage of choice. The music was great and the instructor clear and entertaining. This works for totally inartistic people as well as experienced artists. I would go again. This is a great inter generational activity.
