Mountain bike, running and walking trails catering to beginner through to expert riders. As of 2016 we have around 7km of flowing MTB singletrack as part of a wider walking and 4WD trail network. The 470m altitude summit provides stunning harbour, island and mountain views. The trails traverse deep native bush, pine forest, gum tree glads and open grassland. 20 mins drive from Wellington.

Mid-range fitness loop walk or run across the ridge above Breaker Bay. Lovely path. Some small climbs and a bit of up and down, rewarded by stunning outlook over the outer harbour. About an hour to an hour and a half. Can be slippery if the track is wet.

We are not cyclist but wanted to go on this pretty cycleway. We entered from Union street and walked to upper Queens street. Then went to Queens for some dessert. It was a fun way to spend afternoon in city. It wasn’t busy on the day we visited. Easy walk for all age group. I would go again at sunset time.

Flat riverside walk from Panmure Bridge to lovely Bucklands Beach, passing through the Marina at Half Moon Bay. Cafes at Half Moon Bay and Bucklands Beach. The boardwalk between Half Moon Bay and Bucklands Beach is lovely at full tide. Great for riding a bike too.
