We stayed here for two nights as a couple. The staff were very helpful in helping us plan hiking activities, call taxis, return rental car etc. They allowed us to leave our luggage there for one night while we stayed on the mountain. Room was standard Japanese business hotel type room although quite spacious and had all necessary amenities. The dinner featured some famous Yakushima dishes and was delicious. We forgot our camera charger and when we called them the same day they had found it and kindly posted it back to our address in Japan very promptly. Thank you very much Hotel Auberge for a great stay.

Based on previous reviews I did not have big expectations about pension Seaforest but we were pleasantly surprised. If the building looks a bit worn down from the outside it is certainly because of the rainy weather of Yakushima. Rooms (you can choose western or japanese style) are big and clean with a small balcony (the hotel is a bit like a motel style hotel). It is situated in a quiet and nice area on the outskirts of Miyanoura (10 mn walk from the restaurants area / 25 mn walk from the ferry port) and next to bus stop #32 (but buses are not frequent in Yakushima !). Cash only. Nothing to fault if you prefer to stay in a hotel than a homestay to visit beautiful Yakushima cedar and moss forests (you can rent hiking gear - specially hiking boots which are useful to walk on the rocky and slippery trails - in town).

I stayed at La Isla Tasse for four days at the end of May and it was first class. The room was great with fresh pyjamas provided each day and really comfy beds and bedding. The whole place is spotlessly clean and the 6 dish Japanese breakfast is amazing value - I'd recommend it. It was the hosts (Miha and her husband) that truly made it special though and they helped me plan my days on the island, ran out to buy me a bus ticket on the first night, drove me to a local restaurant and drove me to the port when I was leaving at 6:30 am - and made me a tea and breakfast to take with me. I consider myself to be fairly well travelled and I'm not sure I've ever experienced this level of hospitality and tremendous value for money too. In terms of Anbo as a location I found it ideal. I took the jetfoil straight into Anbo from Kagoshima and walked to the guest house with my luggage from the port in under 15 minutes. If you arrived at the other port, Miyanoura, it would be half an hour on the bus then a 5 minute walk. To get around the Island, I bought a 3 day bus pass for 3000Y and used the bus stop just round the corner to get everywhere I needed to go. There is also cycle hire available in Anbo and all of the three restaurants I tried were excellent.

Delicious meals have given us energy and health. Friendly consideration of the hostess has made us relax. All atmospheres have made us feel being in Japan. But, more information in English is necessary.

Newly opened on April 20, 2018. Room has a tropical atmosphere and once you step into the open deck, gives you an ocean view. On the behind, you can enjoy the view of Mochumdake. Please spend your time in Ruana which your time flows slowly.
We were just so glad that we booked this place - it was truly a great experience! We stayed here for several nights in November. The meals were AMAZING - we looked forward to breakfast and dinner everyday. It was this awesome combination of home-cooked yet "fancy" at the same time. We got to try local specialties that we probably wouldn't have otherwise. We would go hiking in the day and come home to a feast. You could tell everything here was done with love - our hosts were wonderful, so accommodating and friendly!!! They would help us out with planning for the day, like look up tide schedules when we mentioned we were going to the outdoor onsen. And whenever we returned for the day they would come out to greet us - even pull out an umbrella if it was raining. There were a lot of little instances like these where they went above and beyond. The accommodations were very clean and spotless, and it was very nice to interact with the other guests as well. There's a neighbour's cat that visits sometimes - his name is Gan-chan and he was super cute! Weather-wise, it was fairly mild (around 15-18 celsius during the day), and we were blessed with more sun than rain (which is rare on the island). Thank you Luana House for all the amazing memories!

A dining room, a kitchen, living, a refrigerator, You can use it . I prepared for the room Ashley's queen-size bed. Lighting and furniture imported. Teatime is carried out, looking at a Mottyom mountain on a terrace, or it goes into the open-air bath of the quality of an alkaline spring containing radon, metasilicic acid, etc., -- Please relax slowly.
After travelling in south western Japan for a while this was a perfect place to relax, the gardens are lush, beautifully laid out and have great mountain views, the outdoor spring fed bath took the relaxation to a higher level! The house itself is a lovely, comfortable well crafted building, we dined in, enjoying the quiet evenings, the kitchen has everything you'd need and the Acoop supermarket in nearby Anbo is well stocked. If you don't hire a car it's an easy walk from the bus stop to Hana Mana and the bus service is, as you'd expect, very good. If you enjoy gardens you'll love Hana Mana and you'll enjoy the Botanical Research Park, just a stroll down the road.

The room was clean and had a kettle and mugs. The hot water varied from very hot to cold when I had a shower and the towels were so thin that you could not dry yourself properly. having said that the owner was very helpful and had things written in English because he did not speak much. It was pouring when we left and he very kindly offered to drive us to the airport.
