Bauernhof Schink, offers self-catering accommodation on their working farm on lake Irrsee in the Salzkammergut area near Salzburg. The accommodation is clean and well equipped and just 300 metres from the lake , where the owners have a rowing boat which guests may use. It is within easy driving distance to to all the scenic attractions in the area including Salzburg where there is an international airport. Restaurants nearby. If you want a calm quiet holiday this is the place.

Wir sind das 2.Jahr hier. Sehr gute Lage, freundliche Leute, schöne Ferienwohnung und schöne Zimmer... Ein rundum gelungener Urlaub, einfach immer wieder nett hier. Schöner Privatseestrand mit Ruderboot, usw. Und der Irsee ist sowieso ein Idyll!

The place and the facilities are exceptional - we are all enjoyed it very much. The views are stunning and the fresh supply of eggs and milk every morning is just an amazing upgrade for the staying. The place is full of apple trees and others too. The hosts are nice and very kind - they were helping and guiding us for every request we made. Thank you so much!

On the way to Hotel-Restaurant Pöllmann my host -- I had been invited to speak at a conference -- seemed apologetic. "It's a bit old-fashioned," she said from behind the wheel, looking over at me. "But really it's quite nice." During my two nights' stay I came to agree with her. Now and again, you see, I was brought up short because something that one expects in 2019 simply was not there -- a teakettle and a few sachets of instant coffee in the room for those who get up early (breakfast from 0730, and a good breakfast it was, too); a mini-fridge in the room to let one squirrel away a snack or two for ditto, or for child-silencing at all hours; a shower curtain; barriers along the balcony to discourage strangers who might want to go traipsing from room to room; no Abfallbehaelter on the breakfast tables into which to drop the empty jelly packets and butter-pat wrappers (which on a breezy sunlit terrace meant grabbing over and over again at bits of trash suddenly borne aloft). Nothing more than a "Well, how about that!" and a shrug. Nowhere a serious deficit; just -- 1980s. The area is beautiful, the staff are charming and will do anything to accommodate one (including laughing at one's jokes; thank you, ladies!), the internet connection is brisk, the kitchen turns out delicious food, the hotel is immaculately clean, the towels are large and fluffy, and the hot-water supply is ample, even if much of it does wind up on the floor. (Yes, the missing shower curtain.) Certainly I would come back here on my own chalk and pay out of my own pocket. Think of it as a bit of a time-capsule and enjoy yourselves! All the more so if you have a little immersion heater and some Nescafé to bring along.

We had a big family celebration there where we booked out half of the hotel. However, the owner got quite angry and even shouted when asked for little "favours" e.g. vegetarian food, even though we had checked with her beforehand. Also, when we were at the private beach belonging to the hotel, she called down to her employee to have her stop the kids from playing with a ball. She sticked to it, even after other hotel guests getting upset and complaining of her bad treatment of our party. Overall: great location, ok food but the moods and treatment of the owner is so unprofessional and frankly quite rude that you don't feel welcome there. We won't be back.

This was the view from my room. The Bauernhof is less than 5 minutes walk from a superb Strandbad on the Irrsee with great safe bathing in what is reputedly the warmest lake in the Salzkammergut. Wonderful wonderful swimming!!! In an area where most of the hotels are very pricy Kasleitner is great value. The breakfasts are copious and the fresh yogurt is fantastic. Friendly service. The rooms are comfortable, spacious, well furnished with comfortable beds... but... As other guests have commented, this is not a place for a quiet night. There’s the road...or the noise of late night revellers - particularly after the Stammtisch on Thursdays.
