Absolutely wonderful
Reviewed By FEG6500We have just left after a magic 6 days, after a big family trip with 3 children aged 1,5 and 7 and 8 adults including parents and grandparents. This is a family run hotel now about 50 years old. I have wonderful memories of being their last 25 years ago with my young children now bringing their children. It’s a gorgeous spot with spectacular views, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, lovely play grounds, a large trampoline, ping pong and a tennis court now used for pedal cars. The food is generous as I remember it, now with free late lunch running into tea available daily. They now have a minibus which took us every day to the local swimming lake without charging. The icing on the cake was a delightful birthday cake for my 5 year old grandson as a gift from the hotel. We will be back. Wonderful really.

Pleasant hotel in a quiet location.
Reviewed By lynda wAccommodating hotel, I asked for a room in a quiet location and I got it, Beautiful view from the terrace. The staff in general seemed to not interact with hotel guests, perhaps they were overworked. The girl at check-in was friendly, however. Food seems a bit expensive.

A perfect and stily base for activites in the mountains of Upper Austria
Reviewed By Nicolas NIndeed a very good address. Magnificient buliding XVth Century (without lift, not suitable for disabled persons) . Nice rooms, excellent service, The owners, a local couple, really do their best to solve your problems, even if they are not related to the hotel. Good breakfast and in the evening very nice food in the inside Restaurant (only real" mehlspeisen" are missing). For skiers, really only 50 m. from the skibus bus stop, which will drive you to the very nice areas of Hinterstoder and Wuzerhalm (separated but a common ski Card). Reviewed By LapsiperheHaus Löger on perheen ylläpitämä pienehkö majatalo, mistä johtuen arviointeja tripadvisoriin on kertynyt vähän. Talo on kuitenkin ollut majoitustoiminnassa jo vuosikymmeniä, vaikka olimme ensimmäiset suomalaiset vieraat heillä. Talolla on myös vakioasiakkaita. Talo sijaitsee Windischgarstenissa Kalkalpenin kansallispuiston kupeessa ja lähellä on hyviä vaellus- ja luontomatkailukohteita. Talo sopii myös talviurheilua harrastaville. Huoneistot ovat siististi pidettyjä. Sisustus voi joidenkin mielestä kaivata jo päivittämistä, mutta me nautimme toimivuudesta ja siisteydestä sekä talon maisemista ja sijainnista. Huoneistojen varusteluun kuuluu mm. tv, radio ja wi-fi. Helteisten kesäpäivien jälkeen iltaisin ja öisin voi pitää parvekkeen ovea auki, talo ei kuumennu liikaa sisältä ja yöunet maistuvat sirkkojen sirittäessä. Aamulla linnut laulavat. Läheltä ei kulje paljoa liikennettä, sillä talo sijaitsee vähän ylempänä muutaman sadan metrin mutkittelevan tien päässä. Navigaattorit eivät vain aina näytä tietä perille, mutta talonväki auttaa tarvittaessa uutta majoittujaa löytämään perille. Meille tosin riitti vihreät opasteet loppumatkaa varten, kun navigaattori ei enää toiminut. Jokaisesta huoneistosta on ikkuna- ja parvekenäkymät samaan suuntaan avaran laakson yli upeaan vuoristoon. Huoneistojen varustus on sopivaa ja toimivaa. Löytyy mm. jääkaappi, vedenkeitin, kahvinkeitin, mikro, liesi, grilli ja astianpesukone. Huoneistoissa on joko suihku tai kylpyamme. Isäntäväki on ystävällistä. Ainakin Edith puhuu hyvin myös englantia, neuvoo mielellään esim. nähtävyyksien osalta ja tarjoaa hyödyllisiä esitteitä. Haus Löger tarjoaa vieraille "pyhrn-priel AktivCardin", jota näyttämällä pääsee ilmaiseksi alueen upeimpiin nähtävyyksiin, vuoristohisseihin ja myös sisä- ja ulkouimaloihin. Kortilla saa käydä samassa kohteessa useammankin kerran, jos tahtoo. Kortti on poikkeuksellisen laaja verrattuna muiden Itävallan alueiden kortteihin. Suosittelemme huoneistomajoitusta hinta-laatusuhteeltaan hyvää etsivälle, joka ei kaipaa kuitenkaan hotellin palveluita. Parvekkeilla ei saa tupakoida, jos se häiritsee toisia vieraita. Kannattaa keskustella talon säännöistä ja jättää hyvä kuva muistoksi vierailusta myös itävaltalaisten itse suosimaan majoitukseen. Emme suosittele metelöintiä yöaikaan, sillä jotkut vakiovieraat voivat olla tästä hyvin tarkkoja.

Disappointing
Reviewed By ndggirlI read the (few) good reviews on TA which convinced me to book this hotel, but it was a big disappointment. Windischsgarten is a pretty Alpine village, well located for those who wish to explore or hike the Austrian Alps. I didn't mind that the gasthaus was simple and unassuming, but at the price we paid -94 euros- I expected a better quality service and room. I actually didn't feel particularly safe with the big old fashioned keys which opened and closed our door. The room itself was pretty basic. The shower was good. Breakfast was also basic-a coffee pot already on the table before we got there, some bread and cheese etc. I guess what bothered me the most was when I asked for the wifi password. The owner didn't seem to know what that was but called her daughter so she could give it to me - which was indeed nice. But then, evidently because she didn't quite "get it", both she and her husband asked me repeatedly to "give the password back". Clearly a miscomprehension there. Anyway, in summary-had I paid 1/2 the amount, I could have laughed off the inconveniences. As it was, with the amount I paid, I feel I should have got better value for my stay

Reviewed By Genie WSehr gerne komme ich mit meiner Familie immer wieder gerne in die Region Pyrn Priel zum Wandern, Bogenschiessen und Sommerrodeln. Eine hervorragende Landschaft mit Seen und Bergen. Gerne steigen wir dann im Sporthotel Fürst ab, deren Besitzer Thomas & Sonja Fürst seit 15 Jahren das traditionelle Hotel aus den 70er Jahren führen. Ein riesiger Garten lädt zum verschnaufen der Grossstadthektik ein und der Pool zum schwimmen. Der Tennisplatz ist bereits in die Jahre gekommen, aber immer noch für Spiele unter Freunden geeiegnet. Das Hotel hat eine Sauna und einen Fitnessbereich mit modernsten Geräten, sowie einen Tischtennistisch. Es gibt Apparments, die sehr schön sind und wenn man will kann man sich selbst bekochen und sich auch das Frühstück selbst zu machen. Wenn nicht, dann bereiten die Gastgeber ein leckeres Frühstück vor mit allem, was das Herz begehrt. Die fluffige Eierspese der Hotelchefin sollte man unbedingt probieren. Ein traditionelles Hotel mit angenehmer, familiärer Atmosphäre. Wir kommen gerne immer wieder zurück an diesen Ort.

Beautiful location and very friendly owner
Reviewed By BevBubblesThe room was delightfully clean and well presented, the shower room was perfectly adequate and the view from the balcony was wonderful, despite the rain. The owner was charming and breakfast just right. We paid around £65 for one night's stay, which we thought was slightly on the high side.
