The location of this typical Alpenan lodge was perfect with views of the the Jungfrau snow capped range. Rooms were spacious but rather dated. The staff were friendly and very accommodating. The patron/chef seemed to take them for advantage. As vegetarians we were very poorly catered for often hungry.and I was served meat in a soup which was denied. Discussions did not improve things.

We booked a Panorama Room with Jungfrau view for 4 nights in July. According to the pictures on their website it looks really great. Unfortunately the pictures doesn’t match the reality. We got a room on the first floor right above the restaurant. The room was very small and didn’t look like the pictures on their website at all. The bathroom was “back to the seventies”. Broken old yellow tiles, dirty mirror and very old tap. The bathroom has never been renovated. The balcony was just above a BBQ from the restaurant and all the smoke and smell went straight into our room. We went down and insisted an other room. The manager told us that this was a Panorama room and that the hotel was fully booked and he was not able to give us an other room. We showed him the pictures from the internet and told him that we didn’t got the room we have booked and called the Tourist Police. The receptionist gave us immediately a Panorama room at the top floor. And yes. That was the room we have booked. The next day we decided to have dinner in the restaurant downstairs. We noticed that there were dead flies everywhere. The window pane was full with dead insects. Anyway We ordered both of us a Cordon Bleu. Within 2 min our food arrived. The Cordon Bleu was uncooked and raw. We made a complaint and the waiter removed our plates. We got new ones after 5 min. AGAIN the food was raw and not cooked. No apology from the waiter, chef or manager. We decided to leave the restaurant and went to the nearest Pizzeria. We travelled through Switzerland and we stayed in several hotels. But this hotel is by far the worst hotel in Switzerland. According to their website it looks like a 4 star hotel. In fact it is a 3 star hotel. But I reality it is a 2 star hotel. Bad management. Lousy service. Misleading advertisement. Old bathrooms. Dirty restaurant. My conclusion is. Avoid this hotel.

All en-suite rooms have a rustic decoration and feature mountain views. The homely lounge and bar area invite you to spend relaxing hours and the property's restaurant serves Swiss and international cuisine. Set amidst large gardens and featuring a sun terrace with magnificent views of the Jungfrau Mountain range, the family hotel Alpenrose Hotel and Gardens is a truly relaxing place to stay.
Many hotels get away with a great view or location. Not in this case. The Alpenrose hotel and gardens met all expectations and more. From when you walk in you are met with friendliness. The garden is beautiful. The food fantastic and the view to die for. but what impressed us most was the small things. The staff, not only trying to make your stay pleasant, but ensuring that you have all the info you need for your day trips and other plans. This warm, caring and genuine, hospitality you often struggle to find in the EU and Switzerland. We look forward to go back for the winter and some Skiing! Thank you all.

We look forward to welcoming you to our mountain hotel on Schynige Platte. We hope you enjoy the restaurant, the terrace and our self service with a magnificent view of the Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau.
My friend and I had just taken a day-long hike through the mountain and were in need of a place to sleep and something to eat and drink as the day was coming to a close. Fortunately for us, the wonderful staff of this hotel gave us a warm welcome, an available room (which we paid for, of course), and a dinner outside of regular dinner hours. The room was spaceous, clean and had all the necessities you may expect. The hotel was also nicely decorated with 'alps themed' items which made it feel very homely. Breakfast was great as well. Not too extensive but plenty of high-quality fresh foods. All-in-all a great stay :)

The hotel enjoys an beautiful and quiet location above Wilderswil. It offers panoramic views of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau mountains and of Lake Brienz and features a heated outdoor pool. There is a rich daily breakfast buffet. The Hotel Berghof Amaranth has a large terraced garden with a solar-heated pool (open mid-May to mid-September, weather permitting) and a children’s playground. It takes you a 10- to 15-minute walk to reach the Wilderswil train station, from where you can catch a train to the Jungfrau mountain. Interlaken can easily reached by bus. You can get the free pass at the reception of the Berghof Amaranth. You can park your car for free on site and make use of free Wi-Fi internet access.
My wife and I stayed here on Friday just for the one night as a mini break from the city and to be able to visit Interlaken and the Jungfraujoch region/mountain peak. The nearest bus stop to the hotel was called "Lehngasse" on the bus no. 105 from stand F at Interlaken West train station. Upon arrival we were greeted by a friendly receptionist who confirmed our stay and gave us the the keys, we were also given a complimentary free public day travel pass which we weren't expecting, this was great as we visited the town of Interlaken and went down to lake Brienz on the bus. The hotel staff were really helpful and the room had an amazing view from the balcony, the room was on the front face of the hotel and overlooked the whole valley, it was a clean tidy room decorated in the traditional Swiss style, no tea and coffee provided in the room but that didn't really bother us, we ate in the town for dinner and by chance on the way to the town to get some lunch we found a local hotel that served a traditional Swiss cheese fondue. Breakfast in the hotel was good serving a large variety of continental and cooked choices. We would definitely stay there again and recommend it, one other thing to recommend is download an App called SBB mobile, this allows you to plan your public transport down to the last bus stop and covers all of the major train, bus, trams etc, it made travelling so much easier for us. Thank you staff at Hotel Berghof Aramanth, it was a pleasure.

My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights. It's a charming older hotel with very friendly staff and good food. Breakfast which was included gave us a great start to the day. The price was quite reasonable. The location is great and a short walk to the train station. It has amazing views of the mountains. Rooms may be a little small and parking slightly limited. If we were to go to Interlaken again, we would definitely try to stay there again.

We stayed for 4 nights and had an amazing time. Check in was all smooth, we arrived early and were planning to leave bags and go explore a bit but we managed to get our room 2 hours before usual check-in time. The hotel is an old traditional building but thats its charm. If you want modern and all shiny then maybe try and find somewhere else. The room was amazing, we got the spacious en-suite one with a balcony. I would recommend to properly check what you are booking as some rooms have shared bathrooms so you avoid disappointment on arrival. Switzerland is an expensive country so if you want a budget room its not fair to then complain about room being small and bathroom being shared. Read small print. Also don’t think its a very suitable place for families with kids. Its an old wooden building and the floors are squeaky, can be bit loud at times. Saying that we were only woken up once overnight by someone walking upstairs. Most nights it was peaceful and quiet. The restaurant was amazing and I cannot praise the chef enough. I need a strict gluten free diet and the hotel made sure I had appropriate breakfast provided every day. The chef was happy to tweak some dinners so I could eat it as well, however plenty of yummy gluten free options available on a standard menu. Absolutely loved rostis and couldn’t get enough of it. Its a very convenient location, about 2-3 min walk from the Wilderswil train station. There are some walks locally as well. We did a long lovely walk locally passing by an old church and along the river. Overall we would def be happy to stay there again.

Our experience was very disappointing. We asked well in advance if we could leave our luggage before the check in, and were told about a new app system to enter the accommodation before the check in time (16:00), and promised to be sent the details at a later date. The system was never implemented and we had to leave our luggage in a the locker of the station, as the accommodation refused to check us in before 16:00. This inflexibility also meant that we couldn't pick up the visitor cards, so we had to pay for the lockers and transport that day, and couldn't use any of the discounts for visitors who stay overnight. More importantly, on the night that we stayed, they were celebrating a private party in the restaurant, and in spite of having been requested a quiet room in advance, we were given a room just above the restaurant and facing the terrace tables. There was music until around 23:15 (and it only stopped after we complained about it, with some resistance from the personnel). People kept on talking in the terrace until past midnight. The room was poorly noise isolated, so we couldn't really sleep until late, and then we were awaken early by other guests in our floor (some rooms have a shared bathroom, so there was noise in the morning and occasionally in the middle of the night from guests going to the bathroom). Room was so-so, simple furniture and almost no amenities, more like a private room in a hostel than what you will expect from a hotel or nice bed & breakfast. Breakfast was basic but okish (bread, butter and jam, some cold meat and cheese, and breakfast cereals). However, there was no pastries. We saw a breakfast attendant preparing a basket with croissants, asked for one, and were told that it was for the breakfast of another people. Due to the noisy rooms and the fact that you can't pick up the visitor card (which is very convenient to have) until 16:00, I wouldn't recommend this accommodation.

Family owned and operated-excellent service, delicious traditional Swiss menu. We ate here twice because it was such a great dining experience. Fondue was excellent! Mixed salad bar gave us an opportunity to try different foods. Highly recommend the chipped veal with rosti and pumpkin soup.
