The tranquil Rondo Retreat Centre in the Kakamega Rainforest welcomes you to make it your home for some memorable days, pursuing your hobbies as a butterfly collector, beetle specialist, frog fancier, spider hunter, tourist or bird watcher.
I did not go this time as it is too expensive. I have been many times in the past and enjoyed it. But the road is long and very rough. The accommodation is good and surroundings beautiful. But it's far too expensive now. The price has been increasing and now it's just too much and moot worth it. A shame......

I stayed at the West Gate during our Mission trip. The staff was very accommodating. The bed was comfortable. The hotel was clean. The food from the kitchen was very good. I will stay here when I return to Kenya!

The hotel offers absolute pampering comfort with a Swimming Pool, Conference facilities, Private dining room, a Gym, Sauna, Massage, Private rooms, a garden among other facilities. A completely new Night Club (Club Oval) has been put up. The hotel is bringing to Bungoma County unparalleled Catering and dining services that will see the introduction of Vegetarian & Indian Cuisine with a completely separate Kitchen for the purpose. It is also introducing Halal cooking for the Muslim Customers whose Kitchen is also separate.
While i was at dinner the staff came into the room and helped themselves to $100 from my wallet. When i told my Kenyan colleague about it they said sonething similar happend the last time they stayed there

We had a lovely family stay. The staff was very accommodating. They took into account that my baby needed special meals prepared and the staff went out of their way to ensure that we were comfortable. The pool was clean and they had a swim instructor who helped the younger children swim. The food was amazing, delicious and nice big portions. Would go back anytime

Absolutely serene. I had a great 4 days stay here with my family. Plenty of space in the quiet cottage. The pool and gym looked great although I didn't try them out. Spent mornings on the porch warming in the sunshine. The staff were super helpful and welcoming. I look forward to my next visit.

I would be lying if I said I didn't enjoy my stay at Golf Hotel Kakamega. The service is excellent; Awesome super-friendly staff who are keen to attend to your needs at any given minute. But they have a not-so-good experience in some areas that need immediate fixing. That being said, I'll break down this review into three sections: 1. The Rooms - On a scale of 1-10, I'd give their rooms a 7.1. Why so? The only remarkable thing about the rooms is the garden view you get from the balcony. Other than this, they lack to a large extent. More work needs to be done on their closets and bathrooms. 2. The Restaurant/Food - Again, save for the local Kenyan cuisines, Golf Hotel performs average when it comes to the meals. I resided here for three weeks, and I had hoped for international and diverse cuisines on the menu, but unfortunately, I didn't get any. 3. Location - Golf Hotel has good proximity to Kakamega town. It's tucked in a serene location away from the hustle and bustle of the city. But it's a walkable distance to the town, to be precise. Several major supermarkets and a mall also neighbor the hotel should you want to buy general/personal stuff. Finally, the weather is also superb. But Kakamega rains a lot, so remember to carry your umbrella if you'll be staying here for a while.

Hotel Rastopark is the premier destination for hotel, accommodation and conference services.
I stayed in Rastopark for over a week and enjoyed my stay. It's nothing fancy but really good value for the price and a good, central location. Staff are friendly, rooms are clean, the breakfast is pretty decent too
