It was a wonderful hotel in a great location. The staff were professional and friendly. The rooms were very clean and very comfortable. When it was time to leave the hotel receptionist called a taxi to get me to the airport.

The Yeatman is a luxury wine Hotel and Spa in Porto, Portugal, set amidst the Port wine lodges in the beautiful historic district of Vila Nova de Gaia. The Yeatman nestles on a hill, with panoramic views overlooking Porto and the River Douro. The Yeatman's 109 spacious bedrooms all face the view of Porto and the river offering a high level of comfort and a private, spacious terrace. The Michelin star restaurant provides a creative fine dining experience where local ingredients are privileged and presented with contemporary flair.
My favourite hotel in Porto. For all its foibles (the rather jazzy room decor, always warm but slightly slow service at times, the sub par breakfast) it has the best view of anywhere in Porto and a multitude of terraces to take it in from. An excellent wine list, the best restaurant in town (The Gastronimic rather than the Orangery), and the hotel is very close to all the port houses in Gaia.

Boeira Garden is an urban escape like no other. Inspired by its stunning gardens and rich heritage, yet utterly contemporary in approach and appeal, the hotel offers guests the opportunity to go on an enriching journey. Mindful and soulful experiences are plentiful - from authentic food and drink to an organic spa - while at every step you can expect heartfelt service to make you feel at home.
The short version:- We stayed here for a week in May. All in all this is a fantastic hotel and we'd definitely stay here again if we revisit Porto. Highly recommended. Further details - Pro's: Well-designed rooms; super clean; friendly staff that all have a high level of English; relaxing; pretty gardens to stroll around and chill in; clean pool; our room got housekeeping every day - they didn't forget one single day; comfortable beds; enjoyable walk down to the riverfront of Gaia (maybe takes 20 mins at a normal pace); great value for what we paid. Cons (very few): The showers need a shelf - you have to put all your bottles on the floor of the shower and keep bending down to pick them up. Not a big deal but some would find this difficult. The insistence on everyone wearing a swimming cap for the indoor pool has to stop. We would have loved to use the indoor pool on one of the rainy days, but my husband and I would both feel uncomfortable in a swimming cap (and I'm allergic to the swimming cap material), so we didn't use it. Perfectly prepared to put my hair up or even use a hair net to prevent hair drop if it's about hair clogging up filters, but this is an outdated rule that doesn't exist anywhere else I've heard of or been to. There weren't always enough (or any) staff on reception out of prime times - not a big deal for us but may be for others sometimes.

We stayed here for one week & having not visited Porto before we hadn’t any idea which area we were in but just a short step from the Metro which we used nearly everyday, excellent link to the airport & much cheaper than a taxi, cost us €2.60 each one way. We thought the hotel was great, staff were very nice & rooms were cleaned thoroughly daily, shower had a bit of black in corners but seen much worse, there was a kettle but our only gripe were the paper cups for your drink which tended to go soggy also no milk supplied so we bought a small carton of longlife milk. One block down is the biggest department store we’ve ever seen,el casa inglis, food court is great,we didn’t eat breakfast in hotel so can’t comment,we used one of the cafes further down the road most days. One of the lovely receptionists directed us to catch a number 903 bus to Afurada the fish area & away from tourist area & very quaint near the marina, well worth a visit if you like fish, they are open for lunch & again in evening, steep hill down & up! as the bus doesn’t go right to the area.

The Novotel Porto Gaia is a 3 star hotel located in Vila Nova de Gaia, close to the centre of Porto and renowned wine cellars, 20 km from the airport and 35 km from the Europarque conference centre. Perfect for a business trip or a holiday with your family, the hotel offers 93 airconditioned rooms, including 56 non smoking rooms, five meeting rooms for your conference and seminar needs, a restaurant, bar, private parking, swimming pool, terrace area and playground for children. Pets allowed.
Porto has always been rated highly so was a little concerned that the Novotel was on the other side of the Douro River. Quickly dismissed on arrival when we were greeted at reception by Aderito Diaspora. A most charming man who made every one signing in to the hotel feel very special - being multilingual helps. Free with advice on what to see, what and where to eat and the best places for shopping. A trip into Porto was a little as €4 and never more than €10 and this included a ride to beautiful shopping complex of El Conte Ingles. So leaving the hustle and bustle of Oporto to the calm of Afurada was a plus. The suggestion to walk down to the quaint fishing village of San Pedro with an Uber to take us back was greatly appreciated as we were able to see the Uber coming right up to our restaurant table. All hotels should have an Aderito Diaspora.

The location is the reason we chose this modern hotel. It is on the less crowded (in my opinion) side of river that has many port wine tasting offerings, restaurants, boat tours, easy walking along the river, sky ride or walk up to the top of the Ponte de Dom Luis bridge to walk across. The breakfast buffet was delicious and held in a large inviting dining room tastefully decorated. The room (executive lounge upgrade) was large, very modern, kind of dark with multiple light switch buttons, slightly confusing, amusing. We didn't use the gym, regrettably because it was beautiful and we did so much walking, we were quite tired each day. Recommend this hotel while in Porto and we would definitely stay again.

Set in one of Porto’s most iconic buildings, The House of Sandeman Hostel & Suites is a new type of creative hospitality. Here you will be able to experience the city like a local, and celebrate the legacy of an inspiring brand. In true Sandeman fashion, the new The House of Sandeman Hostel & Suites is surprising, stylish and daring, introducing a new way of experiencing a city.
This place is outstanding. I have stayed in many hostels worldwide over thirty years; I stopped counting at one thousand, and this place ranks very high. The reception/kitchen/living/dining common area is massive, comfortable and welcoming, and with a small balcony that overlooks the river and the Ribera riverbank. Breakfast is great, a massive buffet that will set you up for the day. I stayed in the mixed gender 7-bed dorm (I understand that there is a female-only dorm); a very large room with bed-pods shaped like port-barrels: the privacy screens make you feel like you’re in a capsule hotel, but with more space and light. The two bathrooms attached have rainforest showers, and there is a simple combo-lock locker for valuables, though given the security (one card for the external door to the hostel, the inner door to the dorms, and the dorm itself) I never felt like I had to lock everything away. The staff are very friendly, welcoming and accommodating, and there is a wine-cellar tour (that I have yet to undertake) with a concession price for guests. The hostel is very central, easy to find and to get to, and I would not hesitate to recommend this awesome place without reservation. Though, as it is justifiably very busy, I’d make a reservation ?

Our trip to Porto had been 3 years in the making, thanks to Covid. We have had to reschedule 4 times and last week we eventually made it! On arrival, the reception was unoccupied, but we were attended to straight away buy someone from the adjoining restaurant. (I believe they are under the same ownership.) We stayed in room 27 which was situated in the front of the propert, overlooking the river. Fantastic view! The apartment is beautifully furnished and has a small kitchen area which would be adequate for making breakfast or a snack. It is well equipped with crockery , glassware and kitchen utensils. The bathroom has a bath and shower. Every area is immaculately clean. Location is amazing. The port houses are on your doorstep. We did the tour at Sandemans which is literally a few doors away. It's a 5 minute walk to cross the river via the footbridge. Last but not least is the fabulous Fatima! The receptionist who has gone out of her way to keep rearranging our break. What a lovely lady! She has plenty of knowledge of the local area which she will share with you. Fatima is such a happy person and will make you feel very welcome and special. Thank you Fatima!! We hope to come back one day x
