Fattoria I Ricci Agriresort, an ancient 17th century estate situated on the lush Tuscan hills set against the backdrop of the spectacular Apennines, is a mere 35 kilometers from Florence and easily reached by way of quaint country roads or the fascinating age old railway line. The Agriresort is surrounded by a luxuriant park of age old trees, which includes rare exemplars, in the middle of which we find a swimming pool with a breath-taking view and furnished with comfortable and elegant sun-beds in wrought iron. An idyllic place surrounded by olive groves and vineyards that yield extra virgin olive oil and wine can be enjoyed at the restaurant. The complex is composed of the Villa Padronale, the family quarters, and just behind that the old Fattoria (Farmhouse building) used for hospitality, Fattoria has been renovated preserving the original structures and combining them with modern comforts: WiFi, LED TV, heating, hairdryer, organic olive oil complimentary toiletries and mini bar and wellness center. The interior has been treated in detail using ancient furniture from the Villa Padronale and other selected furniture in flea markets, great passion of owner Caterina. At Fattoria ground floor are located two huge Halls, le Tinaie (the fermenting room), where breakfast and dinners are served. Climbing the sand stone steps you reach the first floor of the farm: where once there were the barns, there are now three apartments and a suite. In the park, under cool of Lebanon cedars and redwoods, is located a half-timbered Cottage built in 1919 and since then called “Casina”; during the work of renovation was replaced the wooden floor with old oak vats and made it an ideal place to spend a romantic and relaxing holiday. The Agriresort is run in a deliberately family: the attention, the smile and hospitality are the starting point for a memorable vacation.
I travelled with my 2 young adult children . We spent 2 weeks at the Fattoria, exploring the Mugello region , and taking day trips into Florence , as well as to the sea . The weather in Florence was hot and humid ( mid 30'C) , it was a welcome relief to head for the hills where it was several degrees cooler , quieter and more spacious, with the beauty of the countryside all around . We spent one night ( our last) in Florence , and longed for the peace and cool of the Fattoria . The breakfasts were delicious , we really enjoyed the freedom of having our own 2 bedroom apartment with kitchenette , it was convenient to travel light and be able to wash and dry our clothing on the covered washing lines . We had a cooking lesson with Laetizia , one of the wonderful cooks , she was an excellent teacher . The lesson was reasonably priced compared to others I have taken in Florence and Nice . Learned to make tortelli Alla pomodoro , as well as the Tuscan version of ratatouille with capers and olives , a spectacular almond cake , and meat ragu . The dinners on Saturday night were among the best we ate during the 2 weeks , including in Florence , with an excellent choice of local wines . The pool was great , lovely to cool down after a hot day walking in the hills or sightseeing . Caterina , Ricardo , and her mother were welcoming hosts , we felt so at ease and comfortable . Caterina gave us recommendations for great restaurants in Florence , local places to see including Sunday mass in the next little hilltop village , and guided us to the best parking garage in Florence , as well as a lovely secluded beach about 21/2 hours away . We would definitely come back . A car would be a necessity . I was nervous about driving in Italy , however after becoming accustomed to the narrow roads , similar to the UK , I found the drivers accommodating , and the road system easy to negotiate . Thank you so much Caterina , Riccardo , Madre, Laetizia and Bridgetta for a wonderful stay .

Ideal spot for a romantic getaway in old recently restored Tuscan farmhouse, immersed in rural setting about an hour's drive from Florence. Spacious comfy rooms, terraces for evening drinks, swimming pool to cool off in, delicious breakfasts served in outside loggia or in front of log fire. Tastings of local food on request. English speaking owners always available for tips and suggestions on visits to local sites of interest.
We stayed here in October of 2018 and had an incredible time. Cinzia and Aldo were the kindest hosts. They made us an incredible dinner our first night upon arrival and we were able to sit and chat late into the night and hear about their lives. The are excellent cyclists and the next day they showed us their antique bike collection. Then they set us up with bikes to go on a day's ride. The ride was hard (it was hilly) but beautiful. On their recommendation we went to San Lorenzo for lunch and had some of the best ravioli of our lives. It was also our anniversary when we stayed, and they gifted us a bottle of chianti.

The Agriturismo il Mugello is located in the municipality of Vicchio, in the province of Florence, near Barbiana made famous by the school of Don Milani. The excellent panoramic position, immersed in the green of the Mugello hills and a large outdoor pergola as well as a lounge with fireplace, make our restaurant an ideal place to eat in a situation of tranquility surrounded by the typical countryside landscape and welcomed in a family atmosphere. The catering activity is complementary to the farm with the production of vegetables, fruit and jams. The restaurant offers homemade dishes of the Tuscan tradition with ingredients at km 0 with particular attention to quality and genuineness. From us you can enjoy appetizers with cold cuts, croutons, fried bread dough with stracchino and vegetables in oil; First courses with Tortelli of potatoes and tagliatelle with meat sauce, pesto with basil and fresh tomatoes; Second courses of roasted meat, grilled and stewed and omelettes with seasonal vegetables all with seasonal contour; Homemade sweets like the tart with jams of our production. It is possible to agree together the menu to meet every need, so we recommend to book in advance.
We stayed there with our son under 2years old and the family made us feel very welcome. The room was perfect for small children, well decorated, and they had tons of toys for him to play with. We felt at home right away. Food was fantastic. The bathrooms are shared but it wasn't a problem for us and the rooms are on the first floor so there's a staircase so that was a little worrisome with the toddler but we managed.

A lovely week spent traveling the beautiful countryside of Tuscany, with this as our base. A beautiful view was had each morning overlooking the valley. We stayed in the smaller villa, it had a fully equipped kitchen if you want to cook, comfortable bed & decent size bathroom. Antonella was a wonderful gracious host & we loved chatting with her & gave us recommendations of places to see & eat. A breakfast of home made bread, cheeses, salami, egg, jams & cake were delicious, of course with a good cup of coffee and juice to get you going for the day. There is a pool on the property but we had no time to use it & being high up in the mountain it is a bit cooler up there. A car is a necessity if staying here. Thanks again Antonella for your hospitality, we really enjoyed our time in this beautiful region.

We spent a couple of nights at Podere di Moiata and this has been a fantastic experience. The rooms are very spacious and beautiful. Every room has his own theme which determines the base colour used in the whole room: for the beautiful tiles in the bathroom, furniture such as chairs and other decorative items. The style is really impressive. A lot of attention has been given to every detail, with decorative items everywhere which add to the atmosphere. While the room has a traditional authentic style, there is also lots of modern comfort: airconditioning, large TV, very good wifi Internet connection, USB-ports to charge your mobile devices, automatic light switch on when you open the door,... Depending of the room there is a private sauna or hammam in the bathroom and a small kitchen. The environment is very quiet and there is a magnificent view over the Tuscan landscape. There is also ample parking space for your car. There is a swimming pool at its sibling Villa Campestri, which can be reached by car or a walk though the olive gardens. You can also have breakfast and dinner there in the excellent restaurant with its terrace with magnificent view over the garden. Villa Campestri is also the place where you check-in and out and where you can get all information and help you need from the amazing and friendly owners and staff. This is an excellent choice for enjoying a relaxing and quiet vacation in a private apartment. You can also book larger appartments consisting of different rooms so this seems also a great place for larger families and groups.

We spent a fabulous week in Villa la Commenda Concordia for our wedding anniversary. The villa is absolutely beautiful and the extremely clean swimming pool is perfect to relax. Our room was on the first floor and full of light. We enjoyed the food at the restaurant and the staff was absolutely kind and efficient. We rented bikes directly in villa for a tour of Mugello’s hills and enjoyed massages. The services were absolutely well organised and the location incredible.
