10 hotels in Tirol: Best hotel deals for 2023

August 8, 2022 Nicolette Lion

Once known as The Land of the Mountains, the 10,000-square-mile province of Tirol is a wonderland of gushing rivers, lush meadows and rugged peaks. Fantastic hiking trails wind along paths through the Zillertal Alps. Famed resort towns confetti the mountainsides, including Kitzbühel, St. Anton, Ischgl and Seefeld, site of some events in the 1964 and 1976 Winter Games. Compact capital Innsbruck is a medieval gem. The Tirolean identity is strong: Expect to see lederhosen and feathered hats.

Beautiful Hotel

My friend and I traveled to this area to ski in Hintertux. It was a great location, very close drive to the gondola. The hotel was beautiful, and we really enjoyed our time there. The spa area and dinner were wonderful. Ulrike was so accommodating and understanding, really made the experience even better. I originally made the reservation on booking for a suite, but my friend and I needed a cheaper priced hotel room. She was able to waive the cancellation fee from booking, and help me rebook a room at a great price range. The amount of stress she saved me was truly appreciated. Thank you Thomas and Ulrike for everything!

We keep going back and it keeps being great. Food is excellent, albeit not always vegetarian friendly, and the facilities are wonderful. Staff is professional, attentive and friendly. Facilities are always top notch and well-maintained. It's a substantial bill, but worth the price. Added mark-ups (mostly massages and alcohol) are reasonably priced, so the list price really won't go up by much.

Hotel is at a beautiful location, very clean and well kept. Rooms are a bit old fashioned and we'd expected hair conditioner at a four star hotel. Staff was friendly, especially the cleaning ladies, and helpful with the exception of the waitress on our first evening. We would have appreciated a short advice on how the dining works (some dishes are brought to the table, others you'll pick up yourself and the distinction wasn't clear from the menu). Speaking of restaurant - food was excellent! Well prepared imaginative dishes made of fresh ingredients. The underground entrance to the spa was practical and spa is included in the stay for hotel guests. The spa is definitely worth visiting!

Best holiday ever

Reviewed By MelHaf

We had a wonderful time at this hotel in January. The staff are friendly, the food is high quality and lots of choice from the breakfast buffet, you get a choice of three main courses in the evening and it really has a fine dinning feel- usually a salad buffet, followed by a served soup, a starter, main course, dessert and then a cheese buffet. The sauna and spa is impressive. Rooms are spacious and modern. Shout out to the lovely cleaning lady she always did a great job and was so friendly even though I don't think she could understand us very much. Crystal ski on the other hand we're awful. We arrived the hotel at 10am but couldn't check in or start our all inclusive untill 3pm. Not the hotels fault but something future guests should be aware of. Also ski passes weren't sent through untill the afternoon of our second day. So disorganized but luckily the hotel were able to get us our room earlier and helped us with buses to get to the slopes. I would definitely return in future. Filen Danke for a lovely first skiing holiday.

We had considered staying in Schlosshotel Lebenberg on earlier visits to Kitzbuhel but didn’t for reasons of geography, (distance to ski lifts). However, during this visit to Kitzbuhel, (a non-skiing trip), as we stood outside one of our former hotels and looked up the road to the Hahnenkamm lift, (a road we “laboured” up and down every day), I had something of an epiphany. Staying at the Lebenberg required only a few yards walk to the shuttle-bus in the morning and a few steps at the end of the day. No tedious marching up and down roads in ski boots. The Lebenberg ski-shuttle service was praised by other guests but it was late season and skier numbers were low. How the shuttle would cope when the hotel is busier, could be more of a problem, as there are only two buses, (a six seater and an eight I believe). So what about the actual hotel itself? Again, the situation could be a little tedious, if you regularly took a walk into the town. It’s hardly arduous but the walk back uphill could become a little tiresome. Not that there is any reason to go into town much. The amenities that the hotel offers are first class and almost remove the desire to venture out. The plus side of the hotel’s lofty position are the views from the balcony rooms - simply gorgeous. Modern architects get a bad rap in general but the people who designed this hotel did a terrific job. Delivering a maximum number of rooms with stunning views, great amenities and modern style. However, if you're looking for lots of “traditional” wood, chalet style and the heads of dead animals on the wall - better look elsewhere. I know that service in Austria is generally excellent but Lebenberg takes service to a different level. I could (but won't) name names. It would be unfair to those members of staff not named. We had only praise, for every member of staff, from top to bottom Most good hotels have a pool but I'll wager they don't have a pool anywhere near as good as Schlosshotel Lebenberg. A 50m long infinity pool on the top floor, with beautiful views of the rooftops of Kitzbuhel below and the world famous Hahnenkamm race-course, winding down the mountain - as you swim. Trust me - you could justify your visit on the basis of that pool alone. Simply breathtaking. In our 40 years of holidaying in Austria, we found that hotel food generally falls into two types. Those that broadly adhere to Austrian culinary tradition, delivering a truly (ahem) “filling experience”. Or have a five-star hotel chef, who values presentation and technical prowess above all. The problem here is that these culinary “fireworks” often leave you still hungry. Food at the Lebenberg throws a new category into the mix. A hugely talented kitchen brigade, that delivers serious food-guide quality but in portion sizes that don't leave you hungry, half an hour after dinner. The imagination, the flavours, the sauces and reductions were all breathtakingly good but above all the soups! I've never had a better week of half-board food anywhere - yes, anywhere. There is one point you should be aware of - evening meals on half-board are four courses, with no choices. Saying that, dietary requests are catered for and this is clearly stated on the evening menu. From the standpoint of two unfussy “omnivore-foodies”, the meals were simply spectacular. As for breakfast, again, I don't think we have had better. No point me listing the stuff on offer - they had everything both savoury and sweet. For those of us from the UK and the US, the hot breakfast items were extremely good. My bacon roll in the morning, (and the rest), was an absolute delight. In conclusion, you would have to be a particularly “hard to please'' guest, to find any fault with Schlosshotel Lebenberg. If I had to highlight anything it would be this - go for a balcony room if you can - they are worth it. That stunning balcony view is down to the location of the hotel, on a hill outside the main town. This wasn’t something that fazed two (reasonably) fit people in their late 60’s but something to bear in mind - even more so if you’re a skier staying during peak ski season. However, if you want a truly relaxing experience, with spectacular amenities, views, food and drink - this hotel should be top of your list.

We highly recommend Hotel Innsbruck as this is true gem of a hotel with extraordinarily warm and hospitable staff. The facilities are also amazing. There’s warm pool @ -1 level which is open 24 hours. There’s Panorama wellness spa @ 6th floor which has sauna, steam, cold showers as well as complimentary drinks. I found all the staff extremely warm and cheerful and always ready to help you. However, I would like to make special mention of Chiara @ front desk who was very helpful with checkin and gave us the room full 2 hours before time and also guided us for city sightseeing. In the restaurant, we found Jadranka and Livia extremely efficient and attentive and took good care of us at breakfast as well as dinner. The hotel room rates as well as restaurant prices are quite reasonable. Restaurant food is of very high quality and not less than of a Michelin star restaurant. Hotel Innsbruck is great value for money.
