Our charming quality hotel Seebacherhof has been running as a family business for generations. Its central, but quiet location in Tauplitz is the ideal starting point for any summer or winter activities. Skiing, Snowboarding, Cross Country Skiing in winter and Swimming, Biking, Mountain biking, Hiking or Walking in summer - all at your door step! Our area, the "Ausseerland Salzkammergut in Tauplitz" definitely has something on offer for everyone! Regardless, if you are planning a cosy weekend for two.
I have been here very often through the years though never in the hotel. This is also a perfect place to sit on the terrace and have a drink or lunch. They have a small menu but don't want to be called a restaurant. This is because in the winter when the hotel is full they simply can't offer a table anymore. We have had lunch here many times. Under 4 euro you have a toast or frankfurter sausage with bread. The playground of Tauplitz is just in front of the hotel, so the ideal place as a parent to sit and have a drink when you have children below 12. As said, I have never slept here because I have my own house in these surroundings, but still I can definitely recommend this place. To stay or to just have lunch or a drink on the terrace.

We recently spend 2 weeks in January at the 'Hotel Hierzegger'' on the Tauplitzalm and must admit, it was a great choice and a pleasure to experience the hospitality not only experienced with the staff of the hotel, but also the welcome extended by the owners of the hotel, the Hierzegger family. The skiing area is delightful and gives all kind of experience levels a fair go, and all the lift infrastructure is within walking/skiing distance from the Hotel. We were also very lucky with the levels of snow as well as the weather, since we saw 12 days of blue skies during our stay, and it snowed on the other 2 days. The food served during our 2 weeks had plenty of variety and the presentation and quality was really a delight and compliments will also have to go to the Chef of the establishment. To add it all up, we can only highly recommend a stay at the 'Hotel Hierzegger', since we are already in the midst of planing our next trip there, come January 2018.

The Hotel Alpen Arnika is located in the Tauplitzalm ski resort at an altitude of 1650 meters, right between two ski slopes. The hotel includes sport bar and restaurant with a sun terrace overlooking the ski slopes. The children's ski school is in the immediate vicinity of the hotel. Parents may thus whatch their kids from sport bar whose entrace leads directly to the children's ski slope.
We stopped for lunch during our day skiing in Tauplitz. The restaurant sat next to the kids ski area so it was an easy choice. It offered 3 types of homemade lemonade (raspberry, ginger, lemon) apart from the other standard alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. The menu was more limited but offered Wiener Schnitzel, sausages ("Frankfurter") with fries, soups and some other options. We had Schnitzel, Frankfurter and Germknödel (see photos). The food was good, service very friendly (spoke very good English). I awarded 4 stars (should be about 3.5) as the food was good although the menu options more limited. Some of the raspberries could have been fresher (even though frozen, the supplier of the same was not 100% top quality, ie. I wouldn't have served some of them). Credit cards welcome.

This place is usually full of sking guests during winter season. During summer it is a place to relax, to hike and listen to the singing birds. Quiet place, but still a lot to do incase you’d like to have some entertainment. There is a spa, fun wellness near in Bad Mitterndorf with a discount and seasonal festivals nearby. In the hotel, there is a sauna as well

Stayed here a couple of nights on a motor tour of Germany and Austria. Very good value accommodation and comprehensive breakfast. Lively staff are always a good sign. Pleasant bar scene. Wifi needs sorting out very unreliable during my stay.

For us it was a bad experience, because of irresponsible status of the "owners" or young couple which has in this accomodation some their friends whose were drunk and very noisy and after a few complaints they did not make anything - they were drunk and not interested about the complaints that we did not sleep until 3am because of their drunk and noisy friend stayed in the next room. Smoking under windows of our room - there was a bar and the noise. The food was really bad, breakfast without any vegetables, just some things to choose. Dinner like from the bad school kitchen.

According to the wonderful place in Alps mountains it's quite cheap place. Accommodation quality is on average level, but according to the age of the facility it's good and clean. Food service is very good, in quality and quantity too.

Tauplitz was highly recommended by Austrian friends to experience snow, skiing and beautiful scenery. I’m based in Australia and searching for accommodation in Tauplitz was confusing as I had no concept of how the town was laid out. Haus Edelgrun had exceeded our expectations in so many ways. They were very helpful with providing a quote, an explanation of their location to the ski facilities and an overview of their house. Our apartment had a very large bathroom with a heated towel rack. Exceptional view of the Alps Complete kitchen with dishwasher, fridge, two hot plates and all necessary kitchen utensils. Comfortable beds, towels and heating. A sauna is available at 5 Euros per person. The entire house is extremely clean and they have provided all the necessary facilities for guests returning from a full day of skiing. A Tauplitz bus stop will take you to the lift, however we chose to walk up to the lift. The ski hire place stores your shoes during the day and all your ski gear of a night, so you don’t need to bring it back to the accommodation. Our Hosts Ibi and her husband speak German, English and Hungarian. Thank you for a fantastic place to stay. We wish we could stay longer and now we need to plan for a return visit.

Sonst 12 EUR.
