On arrival the receptionist said rooms were only serviced if guests were in them for seven nights. We were incredulous and checked this with a second receptionist the following morning. She confirmed this. We then found a card in the room which said rooms would be serviced, but only in request. Apparently this is now Premier Inn policy. We showed the second receptionist the card and she immediately backtracked, claimed there had been a misunderstanding (there hadn’t) and put us on the cleaning list. I am appalled at this. I think it is unreasonable and is part of the hotel service you are paying for. I haven’t noticed that Premier Inn have reduced their room rates to take into account the savings in housekeeping they are making. My daughter stayed in a Holiday Inn at the weekend and her room was automatically serviced every day. I know where I’ll be staying in future

We stayed her for three nights to celebrate our dear friends wedding which was at this lovely hotel. The staff are so professional and friendly and without being over familiar or ostentatious, delivering great service. The rooms are comfortable, exceptionally clean and airy. Our room looked out over the garden and was quiet and restful. I was able to walk around the town and shops as well as visit the fabulous museum of Somerset during or stay. The food and service was excellent ,tasty , in season and varied . We would definitely come back here .. most impressed and many thanks to your team for making our stay so memorable .

We will be giving Holiday Inn Express a miss. Second time that we have arrived to find we have been allocated a ground floor room with inter connecting door but this time plus 2 dogs. We have nothing against pets, we have them ourselves but we could clearly hear them. We always travel with earplugs as it happens and we are not allergic to animals. However, many people would suffer greatly. We did request an upper floor but were told none available due to a Cricket Party saying! Also the breakfast was mediocre. On the plus side, the room was clean and in order.

We use Premier Inns often. We know what to expect and they usually offer good value. We stayed here for three nights at the Platinum Jubilee weekend. It was busy and the staff were under pressure. They could have done without the problem that we presented them with, but they dealt with it well. The 'problem' was not caused by the hotel, but by other guests. We had to go to reception at midnight because of the noise generated by the guests in the room above ours - they had been clumping about like elephants for a couple of hours. The reception staff asked them to stop making the noise (It was 'a hell of a racket' said one of the Premier Inns team) but their polite request made no difference. We waited for an improvement but when there was none, the reception staff offered to move us to a quieter room in the annexe. Even though that meant packing our bags and crossing the car park in the hours of darkness, we accepted gratefully. To add to the problems, my wife had a fall in the shower the next morning and was cut and bruised. The Premier Inn women at reception were sympathetic and showed real concern. A breakfast was refunded and drinks and chocolates were left in our room. We enjoyed our breakfasts. The breakfast staff were very good, too; friendly and helpful and when one hot food item was not available from the self-service buffet, the breakfast cook offered to prepare it and bring it to the table. Despite the team being busy, it was not forgotten - it soon arrived. Full marks to all of them. We were grateful for the way that we were looked after but, to this day, we wonder what on earth were people doing tramping up and down the floor of a first-floor bedroom in a hotel in the middle of the night?

stayed at Travelodge Taunton for an overnight stay, have stayed at this hotel many times and always been made welcome by the receptionist, this time she was miserable and definitely not happy, wasn't made to feel welcome.the room had stains on the carpet, the bath had stains in it, certainly hadn't been cleaned for a few days.i payed £80 for the room and if this is the new normal for this hotel, after years of being a customer, I'll be looking for a new hotel for my custom the next time I'm in Taunton

Delightful Country House Hotel. The building dates from 1762 and carries many of it's original fetures. Delightful, individually decorated rooms, lovely restaurant offering the best of locally sourced & seasonal produce, log fires by winter and lovely gardens by summer.
Quant country hotel with a pleasant welcome and fabulous food. Authentic old house charm with its glorious working garden. It was a very pleasant stop on our way through beautiful Somerset. Available parking outside and quiet location. We will definitely go there again.

To start with I was pushed to make this review by the lady in charge (blonde with short hair), if you want a review so badly, you need to improve your offering. Hotel is very very basic, probably one of the most in need of an upgrade. I’ve stayed in much nicer premier inns. I felt a bit harassed when checking in, I just wanted to get to my room but was told to make a trip advisor review - premier inn need to focus on delivering a better experience with a nicer environment, than asking for reviews on a run down hotel which happens to be in a good location. Could be so much better.

Met with Friendly service, a lovely spacious room comfortable beds with a great shower, had a delicious meal and breakfast the next day…would highly recommend this lovely place ..nothing but high praise!
