Tiny Tadoussac, a Quebecois village of fewer than 900 inhabitants on the St. Lawrence River, is renowned as a whale watching destination. Tours are readily available to see the vast creatures feast on krill in the St. Lawrence and to explore the stunning Saguenay fjord, but you can often spot whales from the shore. The oldest surviving French settlement in the Americas, Tadoussac has a slew of national parks within easy reach. There is a frequent free ferry service across the Saguenay River.

A Tadoussac Tradition With its whitewashed walls, red roof, maritime colours, dormer windows and cupola, Tadoussac Hotel calls to mind an earlier era. Besides whale watching, golf, and eco-tourism, we offer a variety of other activities, including swimming and tennis, our health club and spa, and our Kids' Club. With its lawns sweeping down to the bay, its spacious seating areas and large formal dining room staying here is like going back in time. It reminded us of holidays in the 1950s. It has a faded gentility which has a charm. And the staff were helpful: the room servicing policy was clearly explained and tea/coffee replacements, clean towels etc were available as described. But it is dated. The rooms are clean and functional but small . The bathroom is similar. There is no air con snd our windows did not open - not a problem on an early cold June day but might be an issue in high season. We did not eat there - there is an excellent cafe for breakfast just 5 mins away. The bar only opens in the evenings ( might be different in high season) which was a pity: we went out and did not return. Overall we enjoyed our visit but updating is required

Hotel-Motel Le Beluga, with the Restaurant Auberge Du Lac, forms a small series of restaurantion and lodging facilities in a friendly and cordial atmosphere in the heart of Tadoussac.
Functional room, good location. Service nonexistent. Booked 3 nights, would give us 2 coffee pods at a time and had to justify needing creamer & sugar. Wifi password wasn’t provided & then had to go back and ask again the next day as it was changed. Customer service not a strong point.

The room was compact but clean and comfortable. The view from the front lawn was extraordinary! Stepping outside in the morning opened up the day to fabulous possibilities by gazing down to the village and the St Lawrence, or looking to the side to view the Saguenay River nestled between two hills. It was an easy walk down the hill to the village, but a harder walk at the end of a long day. The view was worth it! I would have liked coffee in the room. I would stay there again in the future.

A beautiful home, with a first class breakfast. A warm welcome, inviting bedroom, shared bathroom facilities with onother guest room but superb hygiene standards by host with frequent cleaning throughout the day. Excellent lcation, very near shops and restaurants, but elevated enough to have lovely views out over the river. On site parking. Easy to find and close to other small towns and visitor attractions.

This hotel was in a great location, and had a small supermarket just a few steps away, which was very convenient. The rooms were accessed individually, kind of like a motel. The room was spacious, with 2 queen beds, and even had a table and chairs where we could have our breakfast (included with the room). The shower had good water pressure. The curious thing is that the shower and toilet were in separate bathrooms – toilet and sink in one, and shower and another sink in the other. The only downside was that we had to keep the curtains closed otherwise someone walking by could partly see into our room. There were only a couple of parking spots in front, otherwise you have to park round the back, but it's possible to do a drop off in front. They also have a restaurant, which we ate at one night, and found the food to be really good, better than we expected.

The Hotel Restaurant George, ideally located at the entrance of the village of Tadoussac, is in the immediate proximity of every touristical activities in this heaven of the North Coast. Leave your vehicule in our parking and discover the typical charm of the oldest village in this corner of North America. At the opening of the Saguenay fjord and the St-Lawrence River, on the obligated path of the whales, the Hotel Georges welcomes you with its legendary warm hospitality.
Do you enjoy NOT sleeping? We are the hotel for you! Our design team has worked overtime to ensure that you are kept awake during your entire stay. The experience begins with location. We carefully scouted the Tadoussac area and selected a steep hill on the highway next to a ferry terminal. Every twenty minutes, a parade of transport trucks will emerge from the ferry and climb our hill in low gear. If you’re lucky a few trucks travelling the opposite direction will use their engine brakes to descend the hill at random intervals, to keep your brain guessing as to when the noise will begin. The experience continues with the building itself. Our engineering team selected space-age materials focused on acoustic enhancement You will feel like the trucks are right in the room with you! It doesn’t stop there however, the gently sagging walkway to your second-storey room will remind you that our motel is indeed not structurally sound, to give you something to think about while not sleeping. Rest assured in knowing that the quaint-looking inn pictured on our website is not the building you’ll be staying in, our guests only have access to the run-down motel out back. Our furnishings are carefully curated with the insomniac in mind. For only a few dollars extra you can upgrade to one of our family rooms, which includes a futon that creaks loudly any time the occupant moves. This will ensure that the entire family can enjoy the feeling of insomnia. We are confident that this shared sleep deprivation will enhance your vacation for days to come! We have also invested in the most infuriating of technology. You might be tempted to connect to the internet to pass the time while not sleeping. Not here! We tease guests by showing a strong wifi signal, but then make sure it will never connect. Please do come to the front desk to ask about the wifi, and we will tell you for days that a technician is on the way to fix it. Your family will appreciate the extra time spent discussing the cost of the Canadian cellular data plans. There are several extras as well, included at significant charge! Mold on the walls, towel racks dangling from the plaster, toilets that barely flush, a TV that tells you we don’t subscribe to any of the channels you might want to watch, and sixties-inspired decor are all part of the experience. In the morning, you can come down to our breakfast area to imagine what a breakfast might taste like if we served any (but we don’t). Worried that your family might try to depart early to sleep elsewhere? Fear not, as there is no availability anywhere within a day’s drive! This unwanted feeling of captivity is all part of the family roadtrip experience. Come for the whales, stay for the insomnia!

Our hostess Madame Lessard welcomed us with a lot of care and explanations about the place. She even went out of her way to lend us a coat to wear on the fjord cruise and reserve us a table at the local restaurant: excellent service! The mattress was very comfortable and clean. The view from the room was breath-taking. The only down-side is there's no hot breakfast provided at this place because the owners are dealing with a family illness, which is understandable. No problem for us as we went to the nearby motel which had the usual eggs & toast fare. Cold breakfast packages however are provided at the Bnb for 8$ extra. We also booked a whale-watching cruise through the Bnb which was very worth-while!

Spent two nights in a standard room recently which had a 'private' patio on the ground floor. Front desk service was very helpful and recognized my French was poor. Our room was very clean and the only drawback was we had to move the fridge to reach the only accessible power outlet; no big deal. Ceiling fan was a bit noisy - no aircon and no windows that can be opened. Ground floor patio door ensured we had to keep curtains closed for privacy at all times. Lashings of hot water, possibly scaldingly hot. Bed was a standard mattress, no pillow top, but quite comfortable. TV only offered French channels. The booking service commented on road noise in the Economy Rooms but not in the room we booked, but bc the building is only one room deep, road noise from the trucks heading to and from the ferry is inevitable for all rooms; perhaps the ground floor rooms experience less noise than the upper rooms - whatever, it starts around 4.30am; bring earplugs if you think it will be an annoyance. The motel is one of the first establishments you come across in the village, therefore is the furthest from the viewing rocks, maybe 1 1/2km. Parking is often at a premium around town so be prepared to walk up and down a couple of steep hills.

We chose this establishment for our weekend in Tadoussac. Promised bed and breakfast turned into a bed in a tiny room with cardboard walls... No breakfast at all, supposedly because of the COVID. The customer service was a big disappointment. The front desk agent was very cold and did not provide us with any information. Afterward, we tried to reach her a couple of times but she was never there. As for the room itself, it was clean, however, desperately missing some space. The biggest disadvantage was the constant noise, we were able to hear every step of our neighbors, as well as their conversations. Even though the curfew is supposed to be at 11, someone decided to throw a party in the open area which, together with all other noises, made it impossible to sleep until like 5 am. All in all, totally not worth the money and almost screwed up our vacation. I don’t know if this hotel cares about its reputation but I would like to be contacted by the management in order to find a resolution.
