This hotel is directly across from the pyramids and Jebel Barkal; you can walk from the hotel up the mountain in the morning to catch sunrise over the area. The hotel is well-appointed and has a beautiful, well-maintained courtyard. The brick rooms are lovely and comfortable. The Italian Tourism Company can arrange trips from here to the tombs, petrified forest, and pyramids. The loveliness of the hotel came as quite a surprise after driving through the agricultural and desert areas to get there. Would be a great place to spend a few days.

Meroe tented Camp is located in Bagarwyia, (about 230 km. north of Khartoum) overlooking the beautiful pyramids of Meroe. Accommodation consists of 22 twin-bedded tents (4x4 m), tastefully furnished. Each one has its own private bathroom hut with shower and toilet. The Camp is located 2 km from the Royal Necropolis. Each tent is equipped with a veranda with two comfortable chairs to relax in front of the astonishing view of more than forty pyramids. The electricity in the tents is supplied by a generator working till 22.30. There is a restaurant with a nice terrace. The Camp is managed by an Italian manager with the help of well-trained Sudanese staff.
While not as architecturally stunning as the Kerima Nubian Guest House run by the same Italian company, the location is just as spectacular. You can see the pyramids from the restaurant. These are not the luxurious, tented safari tents you find in East or South Africa. The tents are simple, but comfortable, with two camp beds. The toilets and showers are behind the tents rather than ensuite which was a design error they are busy correcting. However, the new accommodation won’t be in tents but rather solid cabins, so some of the charm will be lost. Each tent has its own bathroom allocated to it and most are right behind the tent, but some are at an angle from the assigned tent and require a bit further walk. No fan inside, but in December this wasn’t necessary. It can get very windy at night which rustles the tent, so it is god to bring ear plugs. Electricity goes off at night but they do provide torches so you can get up and use the toilets at night. The Sudanese lady who manages the camp is very kind and helpful. They sent the cook to Italy to learn how to make pasta, so you are fairly certain to get some home pasta with your meal. Dinner is sit down. The breakfast buffet is good and they also offer omelets. The Sudanese coffee with ground ginger is popular with everyone! Staying here and having the pyramids of the black pharaohs almost to yourself makes you take stock about how fortunate one is. Bring Euros to pay for incidentals. Staff wear masks, check your temperature and ensure you use hand sanitzer when you enter the premises.

I was surprised by this hotel and its services. 1. Their prices is wonderful and charge Local with Local Currency and its not expensive. 2. The hotel design is superb and you can feel like its ancient at everyplace specially in the room. 3. The room is complete and everything you need is exist. 4. The staff are nice and service is fast. 5. The most wonderful thing which I have never encountered before is they have served the buffet breakfast to my room and they have gave me from each item of food. It was delicious breakfast. 6. Finally comparing their services and quality to International Hotels, I can say its like 4 star hotel.

I enjoyed my stay. Very friendly staff and quite place which makes it ideal for business trips. Breakfast was fine. Location is good and close to airport and few restaurants on Africa road. Some of the rooms face the nearby building wall which makes the room slightly dark even with the bright Khartoum sun. I used their car services, they have excellent and experienced drivers.

I stayed one night and that was only because the cheaper hotel down the road was having a problem with water. The hotel is incredibly over priced for what it is, dated and with a less than stellar bathroom that said it was reasonably clean. The biggest issue however was a man on reception who said who was the owners son, who was unhelpful and unfriendly to the point of rude. In a country with some of the nicest people you will meet in the world I suggest you find a hotel that understands customer service.

The German Guesthouse is a small clean and comfortable hotel with a relaxed and familiar atmosphere. It is owned and run by Germans and open to everybody who needs accommodation in Khartoum, or just wants to chill out at our pool and bar area. We can organize all kinds of individual travels, trips and guided tours in Sudan, assist with the paperwork regarding visas and permits and even organize events.
We are three people traveling on motorcycles from Cape Town to Austria. Our route will take us through Saudi Arabia and the German Guesthouse was a huge help with information on the ferry and visa requirements. The public area of the Guesthouse is perfect for relaxing and taking care of much needed down time. Pool is perfect in the heat of Khartoum. The all inclusive pricing is great. Food laundry services, water and all the help you could ask for regarding information in and around Khartoum is worth far more than the price we paid. Assistance like this in a non English speaking country in invaluable.

MYKI RESIDENCY conveniently located in Amarat / Africa Street - a VIP Area - providing an ambiance of eco friendly locales. Just 5 minutes drive from Khartoum International Airport. Our promise is 'Home away from Home' and our guarantee is 'Care beyond Compare'. The property in a cozy cuddly corner of natural beauty surrounded by trees and garden, and chain of multi-cuisine restaurants.
We stayed two nights in January (24 AND 35) and one night in February (31-1) with a group of 11 people. The hotel in itself is decent (even with the lack of maintenance so frequent in many african countries) but it'Squite expensive. Also: 1) the lift dind't work, I don't know since when. When we came back from the tour, after one week from first staying, the lift was still out of order... 2) breakfast was quite poor. 3) during our first stay (two nights) nobody made up the rooms 4) at the time of reservation I asked the manager one triple room but he said they dind't have any triple room. That's not true because some of our rooms had three beds (one double + one single). Oviously they did this way to charge more money for a single room. 5) on our secondo staying after check in we asked to get back our passports but the person at the reception told us that to have passport back we had to make payment: never happened in any other Country!!!! 6) I asked if it was possible to pay in SDG instead of USD and they said it was possible but at an exchange rate of 1 USD = 100 SDG! (Consider we change euro at 1 euro = 90 SDG). Last night, as we had some SDG left. we ask to change SDG into USD and they applied an exchange rate even higher (1 USD = 110 SDG). Quite a usurer rate!! 7) las but not least: we planned to leave hotel al 11,30 p.m. but suddenly, around 10,30 the manger told us we must hurry to leave hotel "because of a demonstration that could block the road". At 10,30 p.m. anc close the airport!!!! It was patently a lie but we had to accepty and leave the hotel. Actually we dind't find any demnonstration on the road. In conclusion it was a bad expericence. I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND TO AVOID STAYING IN THIS HOTEL.
