Old & Very Tired

Reviewed By pete8564

The grandure that presents itself is spoilt by a very poorly maintained dirty overrated hotel. Our first room was smelly, small, and poorly equipped. Our second room which was presented as an upgrade was slightly bigger, but dirtier, and worse equipped. Although we had a view, we had to tend with rotten dangerous windows. The stairwells were disgusting, the carpets were threadbare and there were holes in the walls. The breakfast was on par with a crappy wee cafe, I would suggest you do not pay the extortionate prices and go elsewhere. Both of our coffee cups had to be replaced due to being dirty. The reception staff were great but overworked.

Outdated but friendly staff

Reviewed By skiesoflemon11

The hotel is very outdated and in urgent need of refurbishment. The carpet in our room was worn and the furniture sparse abs marked. On one day the shower had no hot water at all, on the next the water was boiling hot with no cold. The restaurant food was also poor quality. However the room was very clean and the restaurant and bar staff in particular were all lovely. I wouldn’t come back again unless the hotel gets a facelift.

Disgusting Room

Reviewed By TerryScubaDiver

We paid £81 for room only expecting at least a clean room with a decent bathroom and shower. We arrived exhausted after a very long drive and had to wait while 2 coach loads of guests returned after us and we were told to wait while they checked in. When we did get to the room it was disgusting. We opend the window and the frame was rotten and covered in mold. Dinner was available after the coach party sitting and was a set menu with little choice. If we had not been so exhausted we would have demanded a refund and left. The shower was a cold trickle. All in all a very bad experience we will never repeat

Nothing boutique about it

Reviewed By a s

Pretty average and therefore overpriced hotel. The king deluxe room is nothing special and we looked out onto a car park. Room was clean enough but there was doors banging below which made the whole building shake. Pretentious boutique hotel and we certainly won't be back.
