Christopher Columbus added St. Barthelemy, or St. Barts to his collection in 1493, but the French soon stepped in. Today, the chic Caribbean island - officially a department of France - is a popular winter getaway for people from mainland France, the rest of Europe and North America. Keep in shape and walk between attractions or get a rental car to see more of the island. Beachgoers can choose between strands such as Grand Saline, if nude sunbathing appeals, or shady, isolated Colombier Beach.

Set in Grand Cul-de-Sac, Le Barthélemy is a haven of tranquility and restoration overlooking the cascading, white-sand beaches in chic St. Barths.
After not having traveled for two years I may have had higher expectations . The Breakfast was decent fresh pastries and good omelets, fresh OJ once. Menus for dinner limited and due to supply chain this and that plus the fact that they grow nothing on the island I accept the excuse I make for everyone when something goes wrong. The beach is nice , the water a bit cold but the pool is heated. The service is a bit slow and It helps to speak French (my bad) because while everyone speaks English we are not all understood completely. Everyone is friendly and try to please. I would rate the price as not a real value, but then again it is St Barth which itself is factored into the overall price. It is a difficult destination to arrive at. On the way we luckily had a nonstop to St Marten and then we had to take the ferry to the island because the later in the day air transfer were not available three months before. The return was ferry and a 1 stop from St Marten to NY.

Formerly known as “LeVillage St Jean”, “LeVillage St Barth”, a true hallmark of the island, is a charming and authentic hotel. Nestled in the heart of a lavish tropical garden with fantastic views of the Bay of Saint-Jean, a short walk to many shops, 9 restaurants and the #1 beach, “LeVillage” combines tranquility and comfortable living in a true “St. Barth” kind of way. The Hotel offers Classic Rooms - spacious Standard Cottages - Superior Cottages - exquisitely renovated Luxury Suites and Villas - many have well appointed kitchens and large outside dining and seating patios with sensational views. Having recently reached the four star classification level, LeVillage continues to be known as the best value on the island. The many amenities - the beautiful infinity swimming pool, the Jacuzzi, the Wellness Cottage, the Fitness Room – will all seduce you and, like many of our guests, you will want to return year after year.
We booked the Standard Cottage Terrace. It included an outside kitchenette, outside small dining table/ chairs and 2 chaise lounge overlooking the sea. It also had a small parking space for our rented car. Anyone booking here should seriously look into renting a car. Booking one way taxis would cover the cost of renting a car for an entire day. Plus you get to explore all the wonderful beaches around the island. We made full use of the kitchenette. We didn't see a grocery store nearby but it's a quick car ride and worth saving a few $$ considering some of the high meal prices on the island. It can get pretty noisy at night from the local frogs (??) , We didn't know what they were at the time, but they sounded like a constant alarm that wouldn't stop. You eventually get used to it, but it took a while. St Jean beach is within walking distance. The beach itself is calm. It gets noisy by Nikki beach and Gypsy beach DJ music after 1pm. The breakfast is filling with additional options for a fee. Internet was weak and patchy. don't expect to play video games or download a movie.

Member of Leading Hotels of the World and completely rebuilt, Le Sereno Hotel is an intimate property with 39 rooms and 3 stunning villas . Le Sereno stretches along 180 meters of sandy beach on the coveted Grand Cul de Sac, where virtually all of the suites and villas have a view of the turquoise lagoon. Le Sereno draws inspiration from the island and features a contemporary look with an understated décor allowing for relaxed and spacious accommodations to maximize the breathtaking views of the Grand Cul de Sac. Ristorante al Mare lead by our Michelin Star Chef Raffaele Lenzi, offers panoramic views of the Grand Cul de Sac from the open-air dining room and Plage, the beachfront extension where guests can enjoy their meal under the shade of coconut trees with their feet in the sand and experience refreshing beach side breezes. The Spa by Valmont features three full treatment rooms including the waterfront pavilion, the island’s only beachfront treatment room
Our second stay this year. Without a doubt the best hotel in St Barth. The friendliest, most attentive and willing staff on the island. The Architecture and interior design are the most interesting in St Barth, the restaurant is top, serviced by a staff of young Italians who are all superb. The wine list is reasonably priced for the Island, but expensive. Careful with Fabrizio. He sold us a Backgammononthat we didn't need; he’s that good.

Set on the tranquil Anses des Cayes bay, toes in the sand, the Manapany hotel is just 5 minutes away from Gustaf III airport and Gustavia town. Offering 43 beautifully-appointed rooms & suites facing the ocean, the Manapany features: 2 resort - style swimming pools including one reserved for adults, a restaurant on the beach, a bar facing the ocean, a spa by the ocean and many other services.
Although short, my stay at the Manapany was spectacular. Service was first class, and the food and beverages were a feast for the senses. My favorite memory is having lunch with my feet in the sand, champagne in my hand, listening to the ocean while Timal the scruffy kitty kept watch nearby. Erwin provided impeccable table service for both meals, and the night manager was very attentive and helpful after I came home to no power in my room late at night. There are lots of cute island critters— tortoises and hermit crabs— living their best life along side you while you live yours. I absolutely cannot wait to return for a longer stay— it is the perfect place for privacy and exceptional service.

Overlooking the spectacular Flamands Beach, in the hills above Colombier, Villa Marie Saint Barth is one of those destinations where the feeling of romance and quality of life are matched only by the beautiful setting of the unspoilt countryside... in the heart of a vast and beautiful tropical garden, creating an intimate atmosphere, typical of the plantation style, the hotel easily invites moments of pure pleasure. The outdoor swimming pool, tucked in the gardens, provides cool refreshment among the explosion of colours of exotic flowers and plantlife. The Pure Altitude spa with its signature treatments highlights the wealth of local botanicals. As for the restaurant, François Plantation offers traditional cuisine with local flavors to the delight of epicureans.
This is a defining 5 star tourist hotel. Just about absolutely perfect. Unbelievably tasteful decorations. Supremely beautiful view. Fast Internet, easy to sign in. Fresh air from every angle. Wonderful staff. Every amenity offered. I arrived with a rather severe injury, in healing, and the hotel arranged for a private nurse to come every evening to change my bandages before dinner. And the food…ahh the food. I think i first dined at the hotel when it was just a restaurant…many years ago…and it is still the best restaurant in St. Barths. There is no where in France that serves a better soufflé. How is this possible on a tiny island 3,000 miles from Paris? I don’t know. But they do it. Every day. I felt so lucky to be able to stay and eat here. Thank you everyone! Merci!

We spent three nights at Le Tropical and the entire stay was absolute perfection! From the second we stepped foot on the property, everything surpassed our expectations. The staff went out of their way to accommodate any small request, the view was breathtaking, the room was beautiful and last but not least, THE FOOD was amazing! HIGHLY RECOMMEND for your next visit to St Barths.

Since so many have already commented on the amazing location, the luxurious accommodations, and the food, I would like to say how impressed my wife and I were with the staff of this heaven on earth resort. The wait staff at breakfast every morning and the concierge desk were absolutely second to none. Clara, Clemence, Mathilda, Chloe and the head Concierge went way above and beyond to take care of our every need!!! They booked every restaurant, excursion, and accommodation for the entire 6 day visit. The hotel sits on a hill overlooking both the harbor and the ocean so you get best of both worlds. Also, the majority of the fine dining restaurants are within a five minute walk or drive from the hotel. The hotel's driver provided round trip transportation one night even though it was only a 5 minute walk since it was early and still a bit hot outside. So, if you wish to have the best accommodations and be pampered for your stay, this is the one. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Just wrapped up 5 days at the Rosewood for a tenth wedding anniversary trip. Among the things that stood out: (1) impeccable facilities. Everything is very modern and clean; (2) beautiful location. There aren't many places where the pool and a beach of this caliber are so close; (3) bar and food. The breakfast, lunch, and drinks were great. We only had dinner at the resort one night because we wanted to head into town; (4) service. Everyone we encountered was great from check in to check out. Only thing to keep in mind is that you will need to rent a car on the island if you want to travel into town. The roads take a little getting used to but once you've done it once or twice, it's easy.

Located just a few yards above the beach, the Hotel VILLA-LODGE 4 spices overlooks the lagoon and offers one of the best views of St Barth. This unique place offers a high quality of services in adequacy to our valued guests in St Barth. The 5 suites that compose the Hotel VILLA-LODGE 4 spices have been originally decorated by the owner. A hidden gem! We had an unforgettable stay at the villa and look forward to returning again. It is one of the cases when photos don't do justice to the incredible views and the specious room and all the small details that make a perfect vacation. The service is superb with daily cleanings, nice breakfast and airport transfers. Thank you for making our vacation so amazing!!
