Our car wouldn't start after 3 days of staying at Gasthaus Babsi, Philip went to the local garage to get someone to help us, and he was also able to translate phone calls for us with the VW garage in Bolzano. We were able to stay for an extra 3 days while our car was fixed, and while we were there I celebrated my birthday with an extra strong G&T and a Tirimasu ( on the house!!) Lovely family and a lovely place to stay! Food was excellent too!!

We spent four nights at Chalet Grumer. The location is a bit out of the center of town, but in my mind all that much better. you likely have a car while traveling in this region, so driving an extra couple miles to the hotel make no difference, except that you have a better view and exceptional privacy. The rooms are meticulously maintained and each of them has a great view, deck, or balcony. The cleaning service is efficient non-disruptive. The breakfasts are simple, but the highest quality of both food and presentation. This ins't a 'full-service' type hotel, so if you expect to have minions of staff buzzing around to cater to you, you will probably be disappointed, however, the service was overall spectacular. Anything you needed was available and all requests were fulfilled promptly (e.g. idea for best driving route to our next destination). There was a 'honesty bar' with snacks and a great selection of drinks available in the dining area 24 hours a day (love the vibe of just trusting your guests) and the spa was great. I am not some big spa guy, but the sauna, steam room, bath combo was used daily. If you are looking for something other than the big hotel with the big local reputation, this is your destination. If you decide to go, enjoy.

We were here 3 years ago (see review under Renon hotels) and again in October for 5 nights. We loved it 3 years ago and found the same welcoming hotel where we slept like babies and ate like kings. They have updated since our last visit and now have a beautiful, spacious, up to date spa and indoor/outdoor pool. But the traditional, intimate character of the hotel remains. It is the perfect place to regenerate and enjoy the beautiful walks in the Renon and to feel a connection with the traditions and character of this very special area.

The new five-star mountain retreat ADLER Lodge RITTEN offers a gentle outdoor programme including yoga, forest bathing and meditation as well as guided hiking and biking tours. The spa offers personalized treatments, a heated indoor/outdoor pool, relaxation rooms, a steam sauna and two outdoor saunas in the forest, a Finnish sauna and a herb sauna.
I am very picky about hotels. But this hotel won our hearts. The staff are just incredibly friendly! when we arrived for the first time, there really was a feeling that everyone was waiting for us and was very happy to see us. It was very natural and unplayable. Real professionals. Price and quality match. Food, drinks, spa are all top notch. The chalets and rooms are very clean. The view from the hotel is simply incredible. On the downside, there were ants in the suite. And it’s a pity that it’s not allowed with animals.

Gloriette guesthouse, an ideal place to rediscover the the old charm of holidaying in South Tyrol. A genuine atmosphere created by genuine people where both the bustle of the city or the tranquility of the mountains are in easy reach. An enchanted place perfect for surrendering yourself to sweet nothing. 25 rooms divided into 4 categories, a uniquely enticing bistro and a roof transformed into an idyllic spa area. 1 minute walk to the cablecar of Ritten which brings you to Bolzano in only 12 minutes.
This is by far one of the best hotels I haver ever had the pleasure to stay at. We absolutely LOVED our stay. You must go! First let’s start with the staff- they are so incredibly warm and welcoming. Attentive to detail, young and fun. They made us feel as if we were truly on vacation and went above and beyond with any of our requests. Location- perfect location to visit i dolomiti. Many great spots and hikes in the dolomites are within 1 hour driving distance. Additionally, the hotel itself is within 2 minute walking distance of the cable car down to Bolzano (and the hotel provides free cable car tickets during your stay, a really nice touch). So you are just a cable car away from Bolzano in case you want to do some shopping but far enough away that you are truly engulfed in nature. A supermarket is a 3 minute walk from the hotel as well. The attention to detail- as I mentioned, cable car tickets are included which is great. An evening snack is provided every evening. When we arrived, before we even finished checking in they gave us a welcome aperitif. It is such a nice touch- before they get into all of the business side of the check-in process, they walked us to their beautiful terrace and we enjoyed an aperitif and specialty prosecco drink. It made you feel as if they were truly happy to have your company even more than your business. Once we were done with our welcome drink, we finished the check in process and we were taken to our room which was so perfect! The room- again, so much attention to detail. Small little ornate items and details, such as the rotary phone, carafe of water, cute mini fridge, little chocolates, elegant bathroom. Balcony with a comfortable and beautiful egg chair. Robes and slippers and a bag with towels was provided to make the visit to the spa more convenient. Bed was incredibly comfortable. The spa- please do yourself a favor and stay an extra day just to enjoy the spa. The entire area is peaceful and well appointed. The pool is to die for, heated, and overlooking the mountains. You can get drink service to the pool for 4€ which is a must. The sauna is great and so are the resting areas. There is also a beautiful terrace. There is flavored water and snacks available. The included breakfast was exceptional and served at their terrace which has stunning views of the mountains in the area. We chose to have dinner at the hotel throughout our stay because it truly is the best restaurant in the area. Both the a la carte menu and the prix fixe menu were exceptional. I can honestly say that the risotto with char that I had there was one of the best risottos i have ever had in my life. The food was EXCEPTIONAL! On our day of departure, we didn’t want to leave. But they sent us off with a cute carafe of flavored water for our trip home. It was such a nice detail. One of my favorite hotels of all time!

At The Holzner, you will encounter a world of what seem to be opposites. However, upon closer inspection, you will discover a flowing harmony accented with pleasant contrasts: Art-Nouveau ornaments, dating back to the founding year 1908, transcend into the clean lines of modern architecture. The high-quality standard finds its ideal counterpart in the warm and charming service, allowing for an atmosphere of ease and comfort throughout the entire house. The Holzner, with its idyllic location in the midst of the majestic landscapes of Ritten Mountain, is also easily accessible to and from the region's capital, Bozen, by means of cable car. This makes The Holzner a rural retreat and a city hotel at the same time. At The Holzner, these seeming contrasts form a whole. You will encounter a world of coherent harmony as well as exciting distinctions: a world that is always unique, always alive.
I decided to book at the Parkhotel Holzner after visiting the bar in December 2021 and being impressed with the ambience. I stayed for 5 nights and found the half board price to be very reasonable (likely due to the time of year) considering the quality of the hotel and the incredible food. The staff was very welcoming and had my room ready early. It included a complimentary reusable water bottle and hiking backpack to use during the stay, plus two apples (South Tyrol is known for them). The view from the room (20) was incredible - overlooking the hotel grounds and the mountains. The design was quaint, the bed comfortable, and the bathroom serviceable (I would love a larger shower but it was good enough). The dinners were great, with a new menu each day consisting of local and seasonal dishes. If you're not the type to want to sit down for a 3-course meal each night, then maybe just opt for the bed and breakfast, but for me the food was well worth it. Good wine selection, also with the option of beer or apple juice. The salad bar was a highlight. Breakfast was also abundant and included eggs cooked to order. Parking was free. Keep in mind that the cable car up from Bolzano only takes 12 minutes and runs every 4, while driving up the mountain took more like 25-30 and was a bit arduous. I am glad I rented a car since I wanted to explore outside of Bolzano, but if you're mostly interested in visiting Bolzano and other towns, I would skip the car and go with public transportation. Overall, I can't say enough good things about the Parkhotel Holzner and its staff. I hope to visit again.

We own two neighboring buildings: Hotel POST and Hotel VICTORIA, 50 metres away from Hotel POST. Both hotels are historical buildings of the 11th and 12th centuries. In 2062 Hotel POST will be 1000 years old! And it is precisely these 1000 year-old walls, frequently renovated in the last years, which give this hotel its own particular flair. The facilities are balanced by the large meadows in the park, the sun terrace, the panorama Café, the children's playground, and the petting zoo. But the unique quality of Hotel POST and Hotel VICTORIA is the breathtaking panorama view. From the house you have an unimpeded view of the giants of the Dolomites. The proud peaks of the Rosengarten, Latemar and Schlern and many more are your closest neighbors for the length of your stay with us. Our Rittner hiking trails cover over 360km of marked and a further 350 km of unmarked hiking routes - in total over 700km! You can't manage that all in one visit...perhaps it's another reason to come again.
Stayed for 2 nights as part of a walking holiday. Website and welcome suggested that walkers were welcome. However we were left to feel like second class clients; not permitted in the dining room, proper, even for breakfast - although there were plenty of available tables. We tried to get an evening meal and were put in the terrace at an unset table by an extremely rude waitress who clearly knew nothing of culinary etiquette. She handed us the lunch time drinks menu after we had to ask for the wine list - and seemed annoyed when we repeated our request for the wine list. At this point we gave up. Saving grace at breakfast was good leaf tea with infusers and good sized mugs! The coffee was awful - the first and only rotten coffee we've ever had in Italy. Accommodation very average, dated, but clean and spacious. There are many many hotels around Oberbozen so I'd avoid this until it's brought properly into the 21st century and trains its staff.

We stayed at the lodge in early June for 4 nights. Very nice stay, thanks to the host Philip (Pippo), who showed us some of the great tours in the area on Renon. We had the bubble's room which features a spacious balcony and a private hot tub. We particularly enjoyed the evening atmosphere with the modern restaurant, fantastic food (the fish soup is legendary - need to try to belive) and a very nice atmosphere with loungy music by the pool, cool cocktails prepared by Alessandro and all with a great view over the Dolomite mountains. We'll be back for sure and have recommended it to our friends!

The hiking hotel Regina is situated in the center of Soprabolzano on beautiful Ritten near of Bolzano and is the ideal place for a hiking holiday in South Tyrol. The 3 star superior hotel is run by the family Unterhofer and is a member of "Best Alpine hiking hotels". Weekly guided tours, many hiking extras, an excellent alpine-mediterranean cuisine, a small spa and cozy rooms with panoramic views, make the hotel to a place of relaxation and wellbeing.
This was by far the BEST vacation I have ever had. The hotel is family run, personable and close to trails through the Dolomites. They are expanding, so I hope they don't lose the intimate home like feeling. The views are fantastic. But be careful! Even with hiking 4-12 miles a day I gained eight pounds. The food was fantastic!!!
