Reviewed By 71travel2022We stayed here on our last leg of our trip to the Arizona Desert. It was fairly late in the afternoon, and we did not expect to find such a nice room. Very spacious and laid out well. It was clean, had a comfortable bed, and there is a pretty good restaurant right across the parking lot. The best part was I forgot a small bag of laundry. I called the property to ask if they'd seen it. They mailed it to me in a few days, I received the box today. Very nice people who run the Travelodge, and went out of their way to help me out! Reviewed By 841stevevI enjoyed my stay here. My room on the lakeside had a great view of Elephant Butte Lake with a wonderful sunrise one morning. And I could walk down to the lake. The couple on property were helpful. A limitation was not having a restaurant in the offseason.

One of the worst rooms we have ever had!
Reviewed By ChuckBrooksIn our room, the shower was outside, out doors! The toilet had been added to a kitchen. There was 4 or 5 inches of space between the toilet and the walls. If you closed the door, you bumped your knees. The tile around the toilet ended with a sharp edge about 3 inches from the front of the toilet, then there was concrete for about a foot, then another sharp edge where the kitchen tile started. Also, between the kitchen and the bedroom there was a step. The bed sagged in the middle. There was no ice. We have traveled all over the world and the U.S. and this was one of the worst.

Reviewed By GeoLorenzoWe thought we'd spend the night in Albuquerque but didn't make it that far up I-25 and ended up choosing the Comfort Inn. We asked to look at a room on the 2nd floor and after seeing it, booked it for a night without using a 3rd party and found the rate to be quite fair. The elevator wasn't working which was fine by us. The west facing room was comfortable, quiet and relaxing. The beds were great! We were grateful that the window opened as we prefer fresh air. Carla, the front desk clerk was helpful and friendly. We had no complaints! Breakfast was served in a downstairs room where an employee was on hand to sanitize the tables after folks were finished eating. The coffee was only so-so but the focus on our health is what counted. Finally the workout room was much appreciated!

Worse than I imagined
Reviewed By cliffandpatHotel Hell. The room consisted of a cheap old table with two wooden chairs, not clean enough, hard lumpy bed. Loud and noisy all night. It sounded like construction above us. It did not feel safe at all. Homeless people and prostitutes around the property. No lobby. Outside doors are not locked. Bathtub looked filthy. All this and only $85 a night. Also, if you are allergic to dogs or cats, or just don’t care to share a bed with one, don’t go here.

The Charles is made up of two historical buildings. The Spa building, constructed in the late 1940s, and The Charles Apartments, built in the early ‘30s, sit side-by-side on Broadway, awaiting the arrival of guests who venture to the southwest for a relaxing getaway, or on a quest for healing, or even who "just had to stop in a town called Truth or Consequences." The real joy of the Charles Spa and Motel lies in the mineral-rich water that flows from the ground beneath the facility, arriving in the Charles’ baths at a piping 112 degrees Fahrenheit. This incredible water has been used in healing for centuries and is also available in our private outdoor Hot tubs. A nice hot bath is perfect prior to an in-house massage which is available by appointment.
My stay at the Charles Hotel in Truth or Consequences New Mexico
Reviewed By W8476JCeileenfMy friend and I booked a room at the Charles Hotel in Truth or Consequences. When we arrived we were given our room key and were told it was #3. We asked the man at the front desk where we could go eat, and changed our rooftop hot tub reservation to 9, so we could get dinner before we soaked. Upon our return the room we rented was occupied and there was not anyone at the front desk. Also our phone calls were not answered. Finally a guest ( who apparently lived there) went and finally found the front desk guy, who eventually got us in a room with a key. Half hour wait. We went to the rooftop hot tub ,only hot water in a broken tub, no jets working. Rooftop was not decorated no comfy lounge chairs, no pretty flowers, plants 0 ambiance. The room was fine, once we finally got in it. I emailed the front desk the next day and the owner responded and was sorry she wasn't there to make our experience better. She did mention a discount for the future. May 15, 2022 I tried to book a room for June 3rd. Marilyn at the front desk said I had to talk with the owner,before I could reserve a room. Many emails and calls later over 10 days I still had not heard from the owner, Collette. When I finally heard from her in email, she used many excuses and said she and her staff did not want us being rude to them and that she did not care about return customers. Said we should find different accommodations for the night. We were polite not rude. I run a hotel in Santa Fe and we pride ourselves on the fact we have alot of return customers that stay several times a year and have been coming for 20+ years. With Collette's attitude and no sense of customer service, I'd be surprised if she's still in business a year from now.

This 2022 renovated historic "DESERT VIEW INN" is located between Las Cruces and Albuquerque off I-25 in Truth or Consequences ("T or C" as locals say) New Mexico. It's a short distance from Spaceport America. Minutes from Elephant Butte Lake and the "T or C" historic hot water district where you can enjoy a hot mineral bath. Free parking is available by the individual room entrances or an adjacent lot. Exterior (110/115) electric plug-ins are available for boats, etc.. The Inn provides quiet, clean, smoke free rooms with private entrances. Specified quiet hours from 8:30pm to 8:00am. In our attempt to maintain dander free rooms, specified rooms are available for guests traveling with well-behaved, leashed dogs. (A small dog enclosure is available on the premises, as well as pooper-scoopers and bags for patron clean-up.) Please be aware due to the historic nature of the facility, the doorways are NOT WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE. DVD players and an assortment of DVD's and BOOKS are available for patrons.

Usually in old motels, there is always, I see some places are neglected. When I walked in to my room, it was spotless, clean, it had basically what I needed, clean and very comfortable. Not only the rooms but also the parking lot and in front of the doors. Thank you Dan Gray!
