We visit pubs regularly with friends, and found this one to be a cut above the rest. The lunch menu had more interesting dishes than most pubs. Between us we had fish stew, squid, venison burger and chicken. All beautifully cooked and presented. Good to see that the cole slaw was not the usual mass-produced stuff, but a nice mixture of red cabbage and onion. As real ale lovers, however, the choice of ale could have been better. Otherwise we would highly recommend.

We came for an overnight stay The evening menu was limited we waited a while to get a drink in the evening when we returned and the service we had for our breakfast in the morning was disappointing with a 45min wait and others receiving there breakfast before us after arriving after us

We stayed for one night at the Manor House, to break our journey to Torquay. Fab room, very clean, comfortable bed and a great en-suite with a large waterfall shower. Had a lovely meal in the adjoining pub. and a few drinks in the evening. Situated in a very quiet, pretty village.

Just got back from a 4 night break here. A lovely friendly hotel with ample private parking in a good location for exploring the area. Room was a good size (104) and a very comfy bed. A freshly cooked breakfast with good quality products and named brand cereals lovely chunky bread for you to toast yourself. The bar food was really good and both food and drink were very reasonably priced. A small but very well stocked bar and a lovely garden and patio to sit out and eat drink and relax. Locals using the hotel bar were all really friendly and welcoming. Without a doubt we would return to the hotel if we visit the area again and I would highly recommend to others. This hotel did everything you could want for a short relaxing break. Thanks Lorraine a gem of a place.

Very easy check in through the pub, which had a welcoming family atmosphere. Had a meal in the restaurant which was ok, though served very quickly. Good for a cheap overnight stay as I had an early start the next morning

The Mendip Inn is an exciting country pub and coaching rooms concept at the foot of the Mendip Hills, near Glastonbury. The Mendip Inn takes the concept of a great British Pub and adds an exciting, contemporary style of its own, to the food and design. Without losing the sense of welcome that you receive at the very best pubs. First class service is at the heart of all that we do.
Excellent little place to stay. The room was decorated to high standards. Very clean. Plenty of drinking facilities in your room. A very cosy room. The food was to die for very tasty amazing portions. Every single staff was so chatty, friendly helpful. A credit to you. Next time will stay in a room with a bath in. A lovely little bag left outside your room for breakfast. Highly recommend ?

#We visited here because it looked good on the website and could not believe just how good it was when we arrived. What an absolute gem of a place, with such a great atmosphere and old world charm. We could not believe the quality of the food that was served real MasterChef standard. The owner, Tony, was so welcoming and made you feel you were part of the family. We were only there one night but we will definitely be returning.

Stopped here today for lunch on our way to Bristol. Delicious food and lovely and hot. Had the pie of the day which was chicken, bacon and mushroom. It was served with mash and green vegetables. Large portions and well presented. Will definitely stop here again.

Stayed for two nights initially in a very small room then asked to be moved. Larger room had a very dirty bathroom with soiled towels one with a blood stain, and the bath was discussing and had mould all around the taps. Skirting by the toilet had what appeared to be a brown substance in it. Road noise meant a 4am wake up call as lorries thundered three feet past me window. Definitely one to avoid!
