Reviewed By John CGreat stay - wonderful place and close to everything. I highly recommend the Embassy Suites. Staff were very helpful, nice, and hard working. The breakfast was great, the ambiance of the hotel was unique and a great place to just relax.

Reviewed By 18musiciansWe didn't know what to expect from one of the cheapest places in the area, but we were pleasantly surprised. The air seemed a little "stuffy" when we first came in but the room and bed were comfortable and clean. For an inexpensive and no-frills stay, the Discovery Inn was a good bargain and we'd consider staying there again.

Amenities not working upon arrival
Reviewed By Valerie SBreakfast NOT as advertised on site. It was 2 granola bars and a Capri sun in a paper bag. Website showed typical continental breakfast fare with no warning about the discrepancy, flat out false advertising. Best Western said they couldn't offer any rebate/discount for this, only points. Inner door was locked upon arrival. Desk guy warned it might be, which is silly - it is their job to have doors accessible if they know we are using it. TV and phone weren't working. Took 2-3 calls over a couple days to get TV working. Phones never worked, which made calling the front desk a little annoying. Floors were kind of gross. Stuffed animal fell in the gap between the bed and the wall (easy to do, its not a tight gap) and there was TONS of junk, like nobody thought to ever clean there. Same when we moved night stands to access the outlets or whatever - tons of nasty junk.

Reviewed By bridgethG168LQdefinitely motel style, shady characters hanging around, elevator reeked of marijuana, carpet needs to be replaced, room was full of mosquitos so housekeepers should close the door when they clean the rooms. Stay next door at Embassy Suites--this is not IHG standards. As someone with Marriott status, I realize my standards are too high for these types of hotels.

Please save yourself the headache
Reviewed By kalebseatonThis was the worst customer service experience I've ever had at a hotel. I was in town on a work trip, and basically just needed a place to sleep. I got to the hotel and checked in at 10pm. When I check in, the person that checked me in gave me the key to someone else's room, so I walked in on a family as they were getting ready for bed. Initially, I wasn't upset because mistakes happen and I understand that. So they give me a new room, and the moment that I walk into the room, I smell smoke. I get migraines anytime I stay in smoking rooms. I go to the bathroom, and the sink is clogged and doesn't drain. So I call the front desk and ask to switch rooms, and literally the first thing out of the hotel managers mouth is "I can cancel and you can find a new hotel". Absolutely no attempt to fix the issue, the answer for her was to make me leave. It's 10pm, I just spent the entire day working and I just want to get some sleep, not spend it packing up, and searching for a new hotel. I find out that there are no other rooms available, which I understand, there's nothing you can do if there's no other rooms available. But I paid for a non smoking room, and what I received was a smoking room with a sink that doesn't drain. I'm such a cheap dude, I would have happily taken a discount and just stayed where I was, but her solution for me was to find another hotel because "she knows she can get this room booked". She said that to me, verbatim. No empathy, no attempt to work on a resolution. So some poor sap would have also booked a room at this hotel, just to find that their room is inundated with smoke and has a non-functioning drain. I don't take well to being pushed around like this hotel manager tried to. And I would have had no problem if the hotel manager would have shown some empathy, calmly explained that this was the last room available, and offered some sort of compensation, and AS A LAST RESORT, give me the option to cancel my room if I'm still not satisfied. I am one of the least confrontational people alive, and I avoid conflict wherever possible, but to be treated with such disrespect by the manager of the hotel was just unacceptable. I'm sure the hotel is fine under normal circumstances, but if there are any issues that ever arise during your stay with them, or if you have to interact with the staff at all, don't expect help. Expect to be treated disrespectfully and as an annoyance. Maybe you can even get lucky enough for the hotel manager to tell you to find a new hotel.

Reviewed By KritsanaP_13This hotel is located in Seaside city. It's around 5 km from Monterey city center. There is a lot of restaurant and supermarket nearby hotel area. Beach is near the hotel in 10 minutes walk. Parking space is sufficient for number of guest room. Room is large, clean and comfortable. There are microwave, TV, fridge and coffee maker in the room. Toilet is equipped with bathtub and shower. It's noisy in ground floor room because of the upper room walking or doing something in their room. Air condition is heating only. Wifi is quite reliable. Breakfast is served in lobby area. Due to Covid Pandemic, guests have to bring food in the room. Number of choices are acceptable. Recommend this hotel for all type of customer.

Disgusting
Reviewed By DesariVWill never stay here again. Beds are disgusting. Sheets are dirty. Chairs have stains. Old food still in freezer. Reception was no help. If I could give it a zero I would. Gave me a number to call because he said I had to talk to a manager but the phone rang to the desk.

Reviewed By Jaycee DThis hotel is CRAP, but you know what, you get what you pay for. I wasn’t in the motel at all, it was just to have a roof over my head. There isn’t breakfast. It is fine for one night! Location is right by a highway. I’m still alive, so it wasn’t that bad!
