Reviewed By Lynn D...to have booked at this small welcoming hotel. Not easy to find but the GPS got us there without a problem. This place has the best of both worlds. It is located in the countryside with peace and quiet without giving up comfort, air condition and a great pool. You are only a 4 minute drive to the town of Sarlat full of life, entertainment and many great restaurants. We will definitely recommend to all our friends and family!

This well-kept establishment in the heart of the countryside is not only value for money, it provides for everything that you need for a relaxing stay in the heart of the Dordogne - something that you really couldn't get staying in Sarlat itself. After a hearty breakfast (all fresh produce:no supermarket pastries here!) you are within easy reach of all the beauty spots which Mario is always happy to advise and assist. The swimming pool is a great asset and always welcome at the end of a hot day touring. There are some wonderful nearby farm restaurants which I'd strongly recommend and Sarlat is a 15 min drive (you really need a car to get here - taxis are rare). Good standard of housekeeping and excellent facilities, I'd warmly recommend Cypres de Marquay for a family or a couple. Well done Claude and Mario for building up this hotel and for all your fine rigorous efforts during this Covid 19 crisis, we all felt secure.

We left for Sarlat the next morning and new this was the village we were imagining. We saw the beautiful Plaza Madeleine and thought that we should be there. We walked in and asked if they had any rooms. They set us up in a beautiful room that had recently been remodeled. It had everything. The bathroom was seemingly brand new and so clean and everything was tasteful. Then we found the outdoor pool and indoor spa area 15 feet from our room. Fantastic! There's a bar/Brasserie on the main floor with a covered outdoor setting. All on the active street scene in front of you. Very reasonably priced and very nice staff. It saved our trip from the horror of having to stay at the first place we booked.

Reviewed By ceg51We stayed 3 nights with another couple and we both loved the hotel. Location was superb and we walked everywhere. Restaurants everywhere and a good location for my morning run. Breakfast was good and only 2 little negatives. Parking outside was not easy and a pain paying but we got the hang of it. Second the staff was not pleasant when we checked in but others were really nice so it must have been an off day for her. I would definitely go back and recommend this hotel. It was priced right and a great room. Big comfortable light and comfortable.

Super breakfast, lots of local foods, great hams. Cheeses, breads, eggs, yoghurts, fruit, nuts and regional walnut cake. It was nice to have breakfast on the terrace. Plenty of free parking and a large super market five minutes away. About a twenty minute walk to the centre of a most delightful medieval town, lots of buskers in the evening, a real buzz. Lots of places to eat and drink.

I choose if for the parking and price - it's a 10 minute walk from the center of Sarlat so perfect if you want to see the city (or are on your way to / from somewhere else.). Friendly efficient staff, quick check in and out, quiet rooms, hot showers, etc. Of course 4 stars as Ibis lacks basic amenities - no kettles or coffee or fridge in the room, paper cups only, no lotion or conditioner, etc. If none of those bother you, you're all set.

Reviewed By Adam MI originally wanted a hotel closer to the centre of Sarlat, but we booked Hotel le Mas del Pechs based on the good reviews. We were not disappointed! Anne-Marie is a wonderful hostess, extremely friendly and helpful. When we arrived for a late check-in following a long day of travel, we were worried there would not be any restaurants still open in town. She quickly gave us detailed directions into town and provided us with some yogurt, fruit and cheese in case we didn't make it in time. This was totally above and beyond, especially as she had already stayed late to check us in. The hotel itself is wonderful. Clean, modern rooms and the area is very quiet. We slept extremely well, with the only disturbance being a rooster crowing across the street the next morning. Welcome to France! You have a sense of being on the edge of town, but the centre of Sarlat is actually very close - less than 5 min by car, or a nice 15 min walk through a very nice residential area. We enjoyed the exercise and the town is beautiful, but the walk back to the hotel is up a relatively steep hill so be ready for that. The room itself was immaculate, the bed was comfortable, and the whole property very well kept. Unfortunately the pool wasn't open for the season yet, but I imagine summers here would be outstanding. The hotel has its own parking lot so it was nice not to have to worry about finding a spot at the end of the day, and the location makes it easy to get out of town to go sightseeing without having to deal with any traffic. Overall we had a great experience. It turned out to be the ideal base for our 4-day visit and I would recommend Hotel le Mas del Pechs to anyone looking for a hotel in Sarlat. The next time we are in the area, we will most certainly stay there again!

Very nice and quite place to stay
Reviewed By LinoYogyaWe were here in December and at that time we were the only one stayed there (due to low season). We rent the 2 room accommodation on 2nd floor. The place is considered big in European standard. It has one family room (including dining table), kitchenette, 2 bedroom and big shower room. The owner is very friendly and she suggested some places to go in Dordogne. The breakfast was amazing; it is fresh made, has a lot of option and one of the best breakfast we ever had during our stay in France. At that time period, we cannot use the pool because of the cold weather, but I can see during summer it will be a good place to cool down as well. It has free private parking place as well, which is obviously really helpful. Wifi is very reliable and everyday the room was cleaned. Overall it is a very recommended place to stay!
