Kempinski Hotel San Lawrenz - Where European luxury meets Mediterranean flair! Malta's blissful sister island Gozo is the Mediterranean's best kept secret and home to the hideaway resort Kempinski Hotel San Lawrenz. Indulge in luxury, culture, sun & sea - and find the undiscovered island you have been dreaming of!
Mixed experience, good point, the room was spacious, comfy beds, nice newly refurbished bathroom, warm indoor pool, parking, friendly staff. Not so good, the building is a maze, it seems to be part timeshare? Out of date milk sachets, very limited tea/ coffee in room, expensive evening meals and no choice of restaurant as a large conference were using all of one - it would have been nice to know in advance, breakfast all cold even when ordered from the kitchen! That was the worst aspect, cold coffee, cold eggs, cold plates, miserable, and the staff seemed unable to improve it, even though they were all lovely and willing. So not really five star, but very pleasant in lots of ways

The location is great, situated in the centre by the church and close to everything; although the village of San Lawrenz is so quaint that you can still enjoy the quiet. It was such a relief to find a pet-friendly place where the people managing it have such an open, helpful and welcoming approach to us dog owners and to our pets too. The breakfast was plentiful and there was a wide variety of choice, which we really enjoyed every morning. The pool area outside is so pleasant, as was our room. It was cleaned daily with fresh towels and hand towels. The room was very comfortable, with an android TV with numerous streaming apps on offer and at no cost. The beds were comfortable too, and the room was cleverly equipped with things we might need. The hosts made us feel really welcome and were there for us throughout. They were friendly and helpful, and we enjoyed getting to know them.

Fiftyfour West is mostly a 17th century building and the rest built along the years with loads of original features and which has been nicely converted to high standards very recently. This corner property is on two floors and located in one of the most popular areas in Gozo, on one street in Gharb and the other in San Lawrenz. The property comes with two private infinity pools with outdoor showers, dining room, kitchen area as well as a guest bathroom. We have ten guest rooms at Fiftyfour West with different options. Very cosy double bed on the 1st floor with window having partly country view (1 room). 2 single beds or double bed on the 1st floor with balcony having country and pool views (4 rooms). 2 single beds on the ground floor having country, sea views and the most beautiful sunset (1 room). Double bed on the 1st floor with spacious terrace having country and pool views (1 room). 2 single beds or double bed on the 1st floor with balcony having country, sea views and the most beautiful sunset (2 rooms). Family room having 2 single beds and double bed on the 1st floor with balcony having country, sea views and the most beautiful sunset (1 room). We provide a delicious continental breakfast from 8:00am till 10:00am and water & fruit all day. In the room which is fully AC/Heated there is an ensuite shower room, kettle with tea, coffee and milk, mini fridge, hairdryer, 32” television connected to the internet, safety box, desk, comfortable bedding, towels and all normal amenities. Bike and car rental are available at the property and we can also organise taxi pick up. Fiftyfour West is ideal for holiday makers planning to discover the island, from families to couples seeking a romantic stay away from it all, as well as for solo travellers. The property is only a ten minute walk to Gharb or San Lawrenz centre and another ten minute walk to Dwejra Bay and the blue hole, also the inland sea. Nearby is Ta’ Pinu Basilica which is worth a visit and Ta' Ġurdan Lighthouse. There is a bus stop just one minute walk from the property where you can get a bus into the capital Victoria. We welcome you to stay at Fiftyfour West where we do our best to create a friendly and comfortable home for everyone to enjoy and would be that sort of place where guest would want to return to time and time again! We will be on hand most of the time and will do all we can to help and give any information needed to make your holiday on the island a bit more special. See you, Fiftyfour West Family
If you're looking for somewhere to go for peace and quiet and lovely views then this is it. We only stayed 2 nights but were impressed not only by the views and the lovely walks close by but by the quality ,cleanliness breakfast and the warm friendly welcome we recieved in this place. As it was early spring we were unable to use the pool but they looked very clean and inviting. We definitely will come again.

Townhouse San Lawrenz was the perfect location to explore western Gozo. The bus stop is in front of the hotel. We were able to walk to Ta Pinu Basilica (must see), Dwerjra Bay and Ta Dbiegi Crafts Village. The top floor room with the balcony had a beautiful view of surrounding farm land, villages and the sea. Lawrence, the owner, and Dominic, the chef, were friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was diverse and delicious. Dinner was one of the best we had in Malta. We were disappointed we were there on a Tuesday so we could not have dinner a second night because that was their day off. I highly recommend this boutique hotel and restaurant.

We stayed in Jeffrey's House for 8 days in late July/early August. Our flight arrived early hours of the morning by Michael assured us that we'd be able to travel across to the property during the night and put us in touch with James at Gozo Garages (we also hired a car through them, service was fantastic throughout and I'd highly recommend them) who sorted out airport transfer (we went for direct due to the late hours, though this was the priciest option). Transfer was remarkably smooth, though it was tricky to be sure we'd got the right place (no house name) at 2am. Once inside though any stresses were forgotten. The house is stunning. Living space is all on one level (though there is a wash room and drying space on the roof (such fast drying!) which it took us a day to find - it's up a narrow spiral staircase and we weren't sure it led anywhere. A bit more info about the house might be good - we found the aircon quite tricky to work out. Anyway, the kitchen is very well equipped - good quality pans and cutlery unlike many holiday properties and there was a range of food and drink there to welcome us which was great given that we'd arrived so late. The bedrooms are very spacious, though the aircon in the middle bedroom wasn't cooling - worth bearing in mind though that this is the quietest of the bedrooms, which might not be an issue normally but definitely was during festa week! There's a bedroom with a balcony at the front of the house and the bedroom at the back, beside the kitchen, has a sliding door which leads out onto the narrow balcony overlooking the pool. There are then steps down to the pool, which is a wonderful area for lounging around in and, of course, swimming. The pool is about 10m long and starts shallow but slopes down to 2.5m at it's deepest. It's quite private and the sun loungers are really comfortable. All bedrooms are large and well-decorated. The house was clean and well kept. San Lawrenz is a lovely village, very picturesque indeed. The house is a couple of minutes' walk from the village square which has a restaurant and bar and a small and very helpful shop which is amazingly well-stocked given it's size! We didn't realise till arriving that festas are a big thing in Malta and Gozo and there are a lot of them over the summer: every village seems to have one. We were there for pretty much the entirety of San Lawrenz's festa and it did make it spectacular - marching bands, parading saints, streets trimmed up nice - but the fireworks and petards that went off from early morning till past midnight were quite intrusive when you weren't part of the festa. A spectacle, but probably nicer to visit than to stay during, especially if you have young kids who don't sleep well. Even though Gozo's small, we still left feeling there were places we hadn't visited - so we'll need to go back and would definitely want to go back to this house if we did. Although the Azure Window is no more, the area round it is still well worth a visit - and there is swimming in the sea of the bay (though entry and exit are quite precarious, all adds to the fun!); the Ta Pinu church has some stunning mosaics outside. I think these are quite new as I'd not read anything about them in guides, we just happened upon them and they're well worth a visit - as is the church which is lovely. We went to Victoria a few times - the Citadel visitors ticket which is valid for 30 days was excellent value as it meant we could do a couple of things a day.

This is such a wonderful place to stay. It is a comfortable farmhouse with lovely hosts and guests from all over the world. Breakfast is fantastic and the optional supper with the hosts is phenomenal. It was like staying with family for my 7 days on Gozo.

The other guests of this farmhouse were very very loud. Loud music, loud sreaming and loud laughing all night for 3 nights on a row. Furthermore the place could realy use a paintjob/makeover. Swimming pool not so clean. Cheap but better spend little bit more and get better place in the surroundings. Gharb and Gozo by the way are very beautifull and worth visiting.
