The hotel looks Greek, two stories running low behind the dune line. Attractively decorated . The staff were very helpful . The rooms were modern with well appointed rooms. Our comfort ocean front had a double window that opened and we had an unobstructed view of the ocean. The bed was beyond comfortable and the bathroom was perfect. The lower floor ( more expensive) had a patio seating area but no view.

we were disappointed with the quality of service. We could not access the dishes in the room: the cupboards were closed and we had to pay extra. It is understandable that the towels are changed every 4 days out of respect for the environment but when the customer asks for it...

Holder of the European Ecolabel, le Peu Breton is the right compromise between the conviviality of a guesthouse and the cozy comfort of a charming hotel, 2 steps from the ocean. Didier & Jean and their team welcome you warmly and will share real moments of happiness during your stopover on the isle. Couples or family (2 to 5 persons), each of the rooms, suites or studio has its own decoration and you will be comfortably installed.
We stayed for 3 nights and really enjoyed this place. Its a small and charming hotel located in a cute quite village. Great location to rent a bike and discover the island. Very friendly staff! We didn't have breakfast here but the buffet looked really nice too.

Sorry, the bar is closed. The kiosk, no it it’s closed. When will it open? I don’t know. A hotel?! Service?! Your choice! But not mine, well I guess there is a reason why it has a vacancy when others don’t.

L’Escale is located in the heart of the charming little village of La Noue, in “La place des tilleuls” and close to the Montamer beach. For the hotel, we offer you, ten air-conditioned rooms with the local charm, we will welcome you as well for a step as for a stay. For the restaurant, the chef gonna awake your taste buds with seasonal products, served in our bright and cozy dining room or on our shaded terrace.
Small hotel with 10 rooms. Rooms are modern. Parking is a bit of a problem as there are only narrow streets. Private parking was not possible! The pass sanitair is not controlled and the staff does not wear masks. Not really respectful to the clients who all wear masks. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

This is a lovely, small hotel in a very quiet, peaceful corner of Sainte Marie de Re (which, itself, is a very quiet, small town with very few restaurants, no bars & only one supermarket). The hotel is only minutes from a beautiful beach. The adjoining area of La Noue is a little more lively & easily reached by bike. both areas have daily markets in the main square. Our room was very clean and functional (if a little hot, in the intense heat of the past week or so) but was perfectly comfortable and we were out and about most of the time anyway. Having said that, given the heat, it would have been great to have had a small fridge in the room (or, if not, a shared fridge for guests in the reception area) and a fan - ceiling fans would be really welcomed in the summer months, I am sure. The pool area is very pleasant and a great bonus after a day spent cycling between the small towns. Bikes can be hired directly from the hotel, which is very convenient. Breakfast is available daily with prior notice, at a supplement, as is dinner. The hosts are very accommodating and welcoming and were kind enough to give us a lift to the bus stop on our last day so that we did not have to carry out heavy case through the town to the main road in the heat. The bus service is very good on the island and the resort itself is easily reached from the airport. We also used the services of the mini buses that have a trailer attached to take bikes between several different villages for the very reasonable sum of 1 Euro per person. All in all a lovely, relaxing break on a beautiful, tranquil island. A very old-fashioned kind of holiday & perfect if you just want to de-stress, read & enjoy the amazing light, clear skies & fresh air. We will definitely be back!

On the edge of a nature reserve and with stunning views overlooking the grapevines, the sea and the Isles of Aix and Oleron, our hotel is the ideal place to relax and unwind. Alone, with your family, or with your friends we invite you to spend a weekend or your holiday with us. Your Lodge in the style of an apartment for 1 to 5 people has 1 or 2 bedrooms, a living room, a wooden terrace and a snack corner.
The room was very practical for a family of four. The loft had two single beds for the kids. It’s was functional and clean. The breakfast was good. Eggs and freshly squeezed orange juice. We sat by the pool on the morning of our day of departure and were told there was no WC we could use, as it was closed due to Covid restrictions. It’s just plain annoying Covid is used as an excuse for some many things currently. Every bar and restaurant seems able to operate a public WC…. We had shown our vaccination passports too… anyway don’t want that to ruin what was otherwise a pleasant stay

Ideal domain for the stays in family Dans a park of 7 ha afforested by pines, the complex is only 300 meters of the beach, behind dunes. In mobile home, discover the pleasure to wake you in the cooing of the turtledoves who nest in this green site. To the restaurant, you will taste a cooking full of ocean flavors. On the spot: warmed swimming pools and aquatic slide, tennis, playgrounds for children, ping-pong, petanque, bicycle hire, minimarket and laundry.
I made a booking for 16 people for our annual easter cycling weekend and we chose this site in Il de Re. I challenged the addition for insurance for the site despite saying all of the people coming have separate insurance policies. They said if we didn't pay for the insurance they will just cancel our booking. For the sake of c.5 quid I thought it wasn't much in the grand scheme of things so we begrudgingly paid the money. COVID came and our booking was cancelled. This was ok however the camp site were not forthcoming with providing the necessary documentation to process our claim with the 'insurance company'. I decided to pursue the refund through my credit card provider (CCP) who were happy to process the claim. My CCP contacted me to let me know that Les Grenettes were contesting the refund stating that we have rescheduled for end of July / beginning of August. This was not offered before nor confirmed by us. Note the dates as this is peak season for the camp site. We were going to go in Easter when it was cheaper. No price was agreed with the campsite either. The last communication we had was that we can claim our money back from the 'insurance company'. I can see from the latest reviews here that these people are shiesters at best. These people are greedy and are still giving me a headache until now. Stay somewhere else in the island. It is beautiful and I can't wait to go back. Unfortunately there are people like Les Grenettes who take advantage of this.

On Ile de Ré between Sainte-Marie-de-Ré and La Flotte-en-Ré, Huttopia Chardons Bleus - Ile de Ré campsite welcomes you in the heart of the forest. Sleep in a wooden chalet or equipped tent, or in the shade of pine trees with your own equipment. You can enjoy the campsite swimming pool, the many activities on site and live at the relaxing pace of the island. Only 10 minutes from the ocean, join the beach by bike!
We found the accommodation (a tent in Sweet Wood) old, dirty and badly maintained. The location on the island was pretty standard and the facilities were pretty basic. However, the price point was higher than anywhere else we stayed in France over our month long trip which was very disappointing, perhaps this is just the premium you pay for Île de Ré though. This resort is mainly staffed by teenagers, don't get me wrong, this seems like a great summer job and they were helpful for the most part, but without many experienced staff there this didn't feel like a tightly run ship at all. The resort is run by a sharp tongued manager that is unsympathetic to customers needs and when I came to her with inquires not long after I got to the resort I found her to be aggressive in her approach which put me off any further communication with her. Finally I requested a refund for one night of my 8-night stay (emailed to management post invoice as instructed by the manager) so I could complete the 2 week quarantine back in the UK so my children could return to school on the first day of term, but the manager was copied into the email chain to management and again was aggressive and dismissive in her response to this and sited negligence on my part as when I booked the accommodation the UK government were 'considering' putting France on the list of countries that required quarantine... just to be clear, the UK was NOT on the list at time of booking but somehow its my fault for taking a leap of faith and wanting to extend our trip. Anyhow, after the initial emails I accepted that I would not be entitled to a refund I expressed my disappointment, the manager then resorted to unprovoked name calling in an email which I found to be highly unprofessional. During these strange times of the COVID pandemic getting away as a family from the routine of the enforced lockdown was incredibly important to us... yes it was always in jeopardy due to the ever changing landscape of the pandemic but for the most part I found everyone and every in France understanding, sympathetic and supportive of us taking the risk to come out and holiday in France during this time but this place really let the side down on many levels. So yeah, just be very careful before booking here... not worth the money in my opinion and the customer service is appalling, very disappointing.

We've bien for a week at Le soleil do re in august. It just been amazing. My wife, my two year old little girl and me spent six awesome days at the island. The house has everything you need, a really nice homemade breakfast, a warm pool... We also have dinner once, and it was perfect a lot of food and really tasty, fish soup and ratatouille with market fish. I can only say that next time in the island we will stay at Sophie's place.
