Poor Facility

Reviewed By bhilsen

Was very disappointed with this facility. The lighting in the room was terrible. The bathroom was so dark I could not see well enough in the mirror to shave, or for my wife to apply her make-up. There were no chairs in the room to sit on, to relax or have family visitors. The front desk people acted like they hated being there. Were of no help at all addressing problems. The pool area was so dark that it was hard to watch the children swim. The reason given was that the lights were burned out. Every one of them? The coin operated washer, dryer and vending machines were a nice touch, however no change machine, or change availability from the front desk was available. Thus the machines were useless unless you wanted to get into your car and drive somewhere to get change. The breakfast served was the only plus for this facility. The food was good, the choices available were good, the eating area was nice and kept nice and neat. The lady working the area was very friendly, and a good worker. The only person with a personality at this property. Overall, don't plan to ever use Holiday Inn Expredd, and probably not Expedia either because of this poor facility

Great spot, great price, comfortable rooms. It's a great location right off the interstate with lots of shopping and a couple cool restaurants in the area. The free breakfast and dinner are a really cool touch. We'll definitely be staying again.

Every year, my dad and I bike the Katy Trail. We show up on our bikes and the staff is always so friendly and hospitable, even when our bikes are muddy! The place is always spotlessly clean. The breakfast is a hot and fresh smorgasboard, not a cheapo continental thing! Love every moment in this quaint town you can walk around in right from the hotel!

Traveler beware! Almost any other option would be better than this hotel.

Traveler beware! I’m a Hilton Honors member and when traveling I usually stay at The Hampton Inn for its consistency in offering a fine product. This Hampton Inn was not like any I have ever stayed at. I believe for the twelve hours I was there, there was only one overwhelmed and not up to the job employee working. To begin with this hotel is old and worn. The rooms are very small and dated. There were no towels in our bathroom. I called the front desk repeatedly to ask for towels but no answer. I went downstairs to the front desk but no front desk clerk. There were two other people waiting there as well. Someone finally showed up and I asked for towels and she said they were short on them. I asked what I was supposed to do. When she realized I wasn’t asking for extra towels and that housekeeping never left any she did get me a few. The complementary breakfast was a joke. The same front desk clerk from the night before was now working the breakfast area. There was almost no selection. I believe her little children were running around barefoot serving themselves breakfast. She told her one daughter I don’t know how to set up the waffle mix so there won’t be any of that this morning. She offered her daughter a muffin but she didn’t put any out for the customers. While I was there, there was no fruit, yogurt, bread, or many of the other items normally offered. They also ran out of coffee. It was just a overall bad experience and certainly not the experience you would expect for $186.00 a night for a roadside Hampton Inn.

So-So

The King suite itself was ok- couch a little overused and outdated- the bed was great king sized. the bathroom was awesome with a separate shower and tub and a closed door toilet area- but had a tv that was broken. Tvs are not smart and if they were- there was no access to stream from your phone. The lampshades had some type of dried up liquid on them. No room service- No concierge available when I arrived. Information and maps are outdated. The pool closes at 8pm during the week and 9pm on the weekend- The sun hasn't even set- and those were the "new" hours. The pool was an alright size- 4ft deep throughout - Im sure due to the drinking hazards. All of this- and they still charge $11 for some type of service out of the $50 deposit. I booked through hotwire- added an extra day- and I basically had to beg the front desk clerk Kacey to be allowed to stay in the same room. SMH-. The stay was pretty mediocre for the prices charged. I paid close to $600 for two nights got this type of experience. Don't think I'd be paying to stay there anymore.

I stayed in this Hotel prior to departing on the KATY Trail for a weeklong bicycle ride. It served both as a night-before stay and also a morning meeting place for our tour group. I was able to visit tourist sites in nearby St. Louis conveniently as well. I decided to stay there one night on the return end of our trip as well. It is both clean and affordable with a pool, hot breakfast and small amenities such as drinks/snacks/toiletries.

They will cancel your confirmed reservation for no reason.

We had a reservation for two nights on Feb 25 - 27th. We received the standard "check-in" email from the hotel on Feb 24. We did not use the email to check in, as we never do until we get to the hotel in person. We had guaranteed the room with a credit card for late arrival. When we arrived at roughly 11pm on the 25th, the front desk clerk told us that that reservation had been cancelled, but couldn't provide any additional details as the daily business hadn't been closed for the day. My wife and daughter had to find another hotel in the middle of the night in an unfamiliar city. The front desk clerk told my wife that this had happened to at least three families since he started his shift at 10pm that evening. When I called Josh the assistant general manager on the 26th, he acted unaware of the situation, said he'd look into and call me back. He didn't call me back. When I called back in the afternoon on the 26 the front desk (Penysia) told me that they had oversold their rooms through third parties and had to cancel my reservation. I asked why I had guaranteed my room with a credit card and received a confirmation number if they could still cancel my room, to which she had no coherent response. I tried to call Josh again on Monday the 28th, leaving a voice mail, and again never got a return call. On March 1st I called Gigi the general manager and left a message for her to call me. Again, I never received a return call from the general manager. Obviously they messed up and are trying to blame it on third party reservations, but to not even return calls only confirms that they know they messed up badly. I can only wonder how many reservations were cancelled that night.

The hotel rooms look run-down and dirty. The lobby is currently under renovation, unsure about the rooms. Booked a non-smoking room but got assigned to a smoking room. The staff denied it's a smoking room; asked me to leave. Good thing is they provided the full refund. I would not recommend this hotel unless all rooms are renovated, and the service attitude improves.

As soon as you enter the hotel you can already smell a musty odor. the elevator was so old need to replace the tiles/flooring. The hallway has a musty odor, carpets on the hallway need new replacement. The room, OH MY GOD! has the most very musty odor. The carpets in the room yields a very strong musty odor. I could not sleep because breathing the musty odor made me cough. so I opened the windows but still can smell the strong musty odor. the next morning I bought Febreze a textile deodorant to musk the strong musty odor I sprayed the carpet and used up all the content but it did not really 100% remove the strong musty odor. The curtains are dusty and I bet underneath the beds are so full of dust accumulated over the years. Lastly the water from the shower do not go down the drain easily while you are taking a shower, the water is collected in the bath tub . The bath soap is so tiny you can only use it to wash your hands. Bottom line: the hotel needs a major overall cleaning/disinfecting!!!! The breakfast was awful! MUSTY ODOR = MOLDS!
