Beautiful property, appalling location and terrible noise from 6am
Reviewed By CelWa61Stayed there from a Wednesday to a Friday so weekdays. Not sure if my comments below will apply for weekend stays. The house is stunning and the accommodation standards are extremely high with massive rooms and beautiful bathrooms. Staff was very friendly and most of them could speak English HOWEVER it stands on an extremely busy road (hence the double glazing windows so cannot open the windows when warm weather, noise is just too much), the view is depressing (industrial buildings and petrol station nearby) and finally and most probably the worst problem of all is that just across the road stands a tools factory which makes the most tremendous noises from 6am every day. Despite the closed windows and the double glazing, it felt like a huge earthquake was hitting the house every minute or so for about 15 minutes, then gap for 10/15 mins and then the cycle started all over again. So unless you are an early bird and get up at 6am every day do not bother staying there !

Reviewed By Stuart EA clean and welcoming hotel in the middle of town. Rooms are simple and clean. Breakfast is good, but the hotel does not offer dinner. Friendly staff, well priced. A nice seating area outside. The bar and hotel is quiet. Would come again.

Reviewed By Jonas FA small and simple hotel. The size of the room was ok, a very small bathroom. The interior was ok but not very modern. Really good breakfast with different choices. The service was good. The location is not very central but calm.

Our hotel is recommended for business travellers, mechanics, visitors and tourist. Our hotel lies nearly in the centre of Remscheid but nevertheless surrounded by lots of green. The next bus stop is 40 m away and up to the main train station it is approx 3 km. The airports and esxhibitions and fair places Dusseldorf and Cologne are only approx 35 km. Feeling like home, in one of our roomly double rooms with shower and WC, colour TV with Teletext, desk, mini bar, telephone and Internet connection. Every rooms available with elevator. W - Lan for guests free. Car park for customers only, free. Breakfast bufett In our Italian restaurant "La Terrazza" we offered delicious specialties and a wide selection of Italian wines. Pamper yourself on tap at our hotel bar with champagne, wine, hot and cold beverages, spirits or a cold beer. For meetings, conferences, family celebrations and party`s different rooms for up to approx. 55 Persons are to your disponal. Our price & performance ratio speaks for itself and should be a good pre-requisite for a long and pleasant residence.

Reviewed By ducatim1100349This hotel is clean , has super fast and free wifi however the furniture , beds and general decoration is of the 80 s, Which is a pity because the owners are very friendly people and they want to make you feel at home. But for that feeling the hotel is to old fashioned. Old tv ,old bed, old bathroom. But clean. Nothing to blame but just not want you want when you spent 100 night abroad during the year. Good attempt but not good enough anymore in 2017.

Lovely trip to Germany
Reviewed By Kristie CWe were so impressed by this hotel. The service was terrific and the staff was always friendly and helpful. And the breakfasts...such a nice was to start the day! And we could always count on a great place to finish the day. We had a great time on the balcony (when it was sunny ;-). Highly recommend this hotel.

Reviewed By Jan SThis obviously family run hotel is located very close to the big cities like Dortmund,Dusseldorf or Koln.So if you are Bundesliga addicted ,it is a location just for you adding also Leverkusen and Gelsenkirchen. Anyway,although situated by the road ,it is a quiet place.The rooms are big enough,the furniture seems to be from 80s so you expect Limahl to appear there.Did not happened though.There is no minibar in the room but there is a big fridge in the corridor you can take the bottles from and pay at the end. There is a large garden surrounding the hotel and some tables are also placed outside. I have used sauna which was OK.Whirlpool was not working and I was missing there the lockers or the changing room.But it was fine. Breakfast was surprisingly good.It was very rich-smoked salmon,schwarzwald schinken,plenty of fruits and drinks.I was pleasantly surprised. I was having a dinner outside the hotel but when coming back the restaurant was completely full so I assume that the food is fine there as well.

Reviewed By pashleyajThis hotel is a real surprise. The owners have spent literally millions on this property and have invested well. Excellent modern bathrooms spacious rooms and a super balcony. Serways have really managed to change the face of motorway hotels in Germany. This location is ideal for any business in central NRW. We had an appointment in Wermelskirchen the next morning so the location was perfect. The view from the restaurant of the dam and the forest behind reminds of the Krombacher TV advert. Quite an idyllic location yet directly on the A1 motorway. Breakfast was also very good. Well done Serways

Old fashioned charm
Reviewed By Andre50Although officially part of Remscheid, Lennep actually is a medieval market town, with a beautiful market square, where a very nice pub and a couple of restaurants are situated. The Berliner Hof hotel is at the inner ring road surrounding the old town, just a 10 minutes’ walk from Remscheid-Lennep station. It is an old fashioned family business, and many things look just like you would expect in a German hotel. The breakfast room, which can also be rented for wedding parties etc., is full of objects that may not all be beautiful (although that is a matter of taste), but together add a certain charm to the place. Rooms are big and comfortable. The owners are very nice, although we only met them at breakfast. And talking about breakfast: this consists of a large choice of bread, cheese, yoghurt etc., with the option of a boiled or scrambled egg.
