Cosy hotel with very nice breakfast
Reviewed By Froggy2DenmarkWe stayed here for one night. Friendly welcome by the receptionist. We had room 205. No balcony but quite spacious. My husband felt the room was a bit dark and damp. I found it OK, but it did face north, so it was not the brightest room. The shower was good but with very thin/cheap towels. Breakfast was very good. The main hiking paths (including the one to Bastei) are right opposite the hotel.

Reviewed By PeterFabricius-OlsenThe location cant be beaten, and the swimming pool was great as well. Parking is at the other side of the river but would have been nice to know before arriwing. It would also be nice to have been told that hotel payed the parking. Unfortunately we were checked in by a young girl without any knowledge of even basic english and that is not OK in a 4 star hotel. We found out later that the rest of the staff spoke english without any issues. The rooms are nice, but very old fashion in style. Breakfast was average. We stayed in a room with Balcony which is not to be missed with the view. Great hotel, but compared to the price I expected a bit more. You are paying for the location big time

Reviewed By eli dwe had two rooms, one with a view and one without. Both CLEAN, spacious, excellent toiletries, great bathroom, shower stall was amazing and the views EXCELLENT! we had a great time and would definitely go back. Service at lobby was great and they all knew English which was a great thing for us! Breakfast was generous but not that great. I would have expected better food and variety in such hotel....

Reviewed By mamoma2The hotel bedrooms are nice and clean, the views of the mountain and town are also pretty good. The proximity to the trainstation and the ferry are great also. Nothing really to complain about, only thing is that they do not take visa or MasterCard which was a little annoying as I was not informed of this when booking. Everything in Rathan seems to shut down after 8-9pm so if you want food you may go hungry. No in room wifi. No big loss..

In the middle of the world largest garden model train park in gage size G, our boutique Bed & Breakfast provides double rooms and a self-contained apartment. Why not make the most of our attraction for the whole family and train lovers by spending a few nights with us, enjoying Rathen and its scenic Saxon Switzerland located only 35kms from Dresden.

Reviewed By MangiMadnessThe train park surrounding the little B&B was the highlight for everyone on our trip! Children received certificates after our stay for helping out with the model trains and were looked after so well by the friendly team. The rooms are very clean and comfortable and the self contained apartments are perfect for the whole family if you don't feel like going out every night- although you could because Dresden is only a short 20min ride on the local train. Breakfast is a plenty with lots of variety, as well as cold meats and fruit and also cooked to order if you like! We will be back for sure on our next Germany trip!

Poor Service
Reviewed By KellyH20We felt very unwelcome. We arrived to check in after hiking ten miles, a few minutes before 8;00pm. There is no other restaurant anywhere nearby, and they still had guests dining. The chef was rude and finally after begging agreed to serve us some tomato soup (cold). We asked several times for water, bread and butter and these were all served begrudgingly and with hostility. The waiter told us we could have ice cream but the chef absolutely refused even after an extended conversation (begging). It was honestly bizzare we were just two hungry people paying to stay in their very basic hotel. Also the walk up is a lot of stairs and since it was later it was extremely dark. The lights were mostly burnt out. Stay elsewhere if you can.
