The lobby was very nice neat and tidy. The guest service lady at check in was nice and knowledgeable. She was quick and accurate. Awesome gift shop with some cool outdoors equipment. Honestly you can tell this is an older lodge, but it was very nice. WAY better than a slap a coat a paint fixes. We stayed in rm 125 and I was VERY pleasantly surprised at how modern the room and decor was. Tasteful and above all CLEAN! We had a patio door to walk our dog from. OH YES DID I MENTION pet friendly for $15 per animal per night. WORTH IT. Papa John's connected to it has great dessert. We had a great one night stay on a holiday weekend!

I really enjoyed the location next to the city park, walkway, and river. But the rooms were a littl worn and the bed was in bad shape. I had heard there was a remodel job but I could not see it. Even the breakfast was short of average.

Richie Summers in maintenance and Donae at the front desk went above and beyond for us this evening. We had problems with our room. Richie spent an hour trying to fix things and could not find a solution. He went to Donae and upgraded us to a better room with no issues. He even helped move our bags to the new room. Excellent service to make things right. Thank you Richie and Donae!! Also hot springs are great!!

This is a well-renovated old motel and they did such a great job. Our room was exceptionally clean. It was more user-friendly than many hotels - there was a place to put your stuff in the bathroom, plenty of hooks, and the coffee/tea set-up was an electric kettle and pour-over instead of a wasteful keurig. The location was within easy walking distance to many restaurants.

My husband and I stayed here for our elopement trip! If I could give them 10 stars, I would! We originally planned a big wedding with family and friends, but then decided that the stress and planning just wasn't what we had in mind for our big day. We found Jim and Odilia's B&B after looking at several different places, that just didn't have everything we needed. I reached out to them with questions, and I honestly expected to get another auto-generated email like I had from other elopement venues. Instead, I received a personalized email from Odilia herself. She answered every question I had, and then some. I knew right away this was the place we needed to have our elopement. After months of anticipation, and great communication with Odilia, we arrived at the most beautifully serene B&B I have ever seen! We were greeted with a hug from Odilia, who immediately felt like family! After getting settled in, we were then greeted downstairs by both Jim and Odilia for Happy Hour! We sat and talked details of the wedding, that was the next day, and ended up talking for a couple of hours with them. They had taken care of every single detail of our wedding. We didn't have to lift a finger the entire time we were there. Odilia had arranged my hair and makeup, ordered and picked up our cake and flowers, decorated the living room/dining space of the B&B beautifully to match our colors and decor. The ceremony was everything we could have dreamed of and more. Jim was the officiant, and he made the script and flow of the ceremony so perfect! He really got to know my husband and I in the short time we got to spend with them, and we felt like the script spoke so true to us as a couple. They were able to live stream the ceremony for us, as it was just the two of us with our families watching from our hometown. The photographer they had set up for us was also amazing!! He was very detailed, and really captured the day for us! Not only did they have everything set up magically, but Odilia prepared the most delicious meals for us for dinner!! It was everything we hoped for and more!! I would highly recommend them for hosting your wedding, or even just a fun getaway trip! The room we stayed in had everything we needed as well. You definitely won't go without here! They truly know what they are doing. I will forever be grateful we chose Elkwood Manor to get married! On our next trip through Pagosa Springs, we will definitely be stopping by for Happy Hour!!

check in was uneventful, room was fair, pool was packed with kjds so we did not use. We did ask for a quiet room but were put on the street side right outside the entrance to the pool so it did not quiet down until later.

I don’t see any other reviews mentioning this, so first off realize that steam from the shower will set off the smoke detector… which is connected to every room of the motel. First time it happened I didn’t even know that was possible, scrambled to wriggle my wet body into clothes and put my hair in a towel, and grab my anxious dog. I don’t think the motel staff are aware this is an issue because the housekeeper told me they’d been “having issues with the system” so hopefully they read these reviews. Second time it happened we were up at 6am to check out and had planned to slip out quietly so we wouldn’t disturb our neighbors. Husband took a shower, alarms went off, and when we frantically opened the door to let steam out several people in pj’s were righteously annoyed outside of their rooms - embarrassing! I’m seeing several reviews about the lounge being great but you need to know that the lounge is open to the public, so as soon as it opens the parking lot fills up and the place is packed within the first hour. The first couple nights we tried to go it took forever to get service because the locals (“regulars”) were skipping us in line and getting preferential treatment (we could tell the bartenders knew them). In our experience the locals/regulars were very evasive and even gave us sour looks, we felt like the annoying tourists and I felt like sarcastically apologizing for spending money in their town. We’re not even from out of state - not that it matters. Last complaint is more of the motel’s problem - there was lots of snow melt so the parking lot was super muddy. Our floor and our friend’s floors were covered in mud. Thank goodness the floors are wood and not carpet! Hopefully they’re planning to add gravel to the parking lot, next time we’ll be sure to remove our shoes at the door and bring our own towel to dry our dogs paws. For us there would definitely be a next time, despite all the complaints, because there were some pros - good location, friendly and helpful staff, free coffee and snacks set out in the morning, and pet friendly. Also, live music at the lounge. The lounge would be more fun if you’re staying during the week or during off season I bet.

Do not believe the lie about new, remodeled room's. Carpet is dirty, bathtub insert is old and broken, fixtures hanging off walls. Furniture is old, probably moved from old building. The only "new" are newly painted walls and the lamps . Door to the "new"building has no lock and anyone can come in and out all day and night. Parking lot dangerous with debris And all this for only $170 + tax!

Nice place to stay in Pagosa. We stayed in a suite. Nice to have separate living, kitchen, and bedroom areas. Everything was clean. Furniture isn't new but was comfortable. Slept well. Didn't use the pool area, but there is one. Our room was pet friendly, but our dog didn't seem to notice that others has come before him. So room was well cleared. Office person on duty from 9am to 9pm. We would stay here again.

One of the worst beds that we have ever attempted to sleep in. It was so worn out that the mattress dipped nearly 3” to the middle and toward the headboard. Horrible night. The room heater was junk as well.
