Tucked away in the city's Fountain District, The Hotel Zags Portland is your oasis in the heart of downtown. At the newly renovated The Hotel Zags Portland, we're on a mission to tell a different story - one that brings together Oregon's natural beauty and the city's quirky culture. We'll be your home base as you explore our neighborhood via a rented bike from our Gear Shed, relax in our courtyard with a local sip from our restaurant, Nel Centro, or visit nearby shopping, dining and culture hotspots. Rediscover Portland at The Hotel Zags.
From the moment we got to the hotel, there was 17 of us, the staff was super friendly and willing to help. The rooms are nice and comfortable and the hotel is really nice. It’s close to several bus stops so getting to the convention center was not an issue at all - I could take several buses and the light rail. It’s close to the river in case you want to go for a run and there are restaurants galore around the area. Lots of parks around and very safe at night. They also have bike rentals and other equipment you can rent. Overall, a really great experience. Michael and Lela were awesome!

The Benson, in the heart of downtown Portland, is the city's only premier hotel that unites the charm and civility of the old world with the elegance of contemporary design and mindful service. In homage to the hotel's namesake Simon Benson, guests are invited to experience legendary service, European design, 5-star dining and an acclaimed lobby bar. The Benson seeks to cultivate the best in all of us. The Benson is a short walk to the Pearl District, waterfront park, and countless shops, bars, and restaurants. Pioneer Courthouse Square and Powell's Books are a five-minute walk from our doors. Our hotel is pet-friendly and features a 24-hour fitness center and over 13,500 sq. ft. of event and meeting space.
We hosted a corporate gathering of our 12 board members and VIP guests at the hotel, with a cocktail reception in addition to their hotel stays. The staff was a pleasure to work with and very accommodating to our large group. They found solutions to what we were looking for and providing the experience we wanted for our guests. We will definitely use them for our corporate gatherings in the future.

This beautifully wooded property at the quiet south end of Cannon Beach takes full advantage of the beauty of its' natural setting. The architecture and scale of the inn is very residential and cottage-like. Some guests have equated the feel of The Inn at Cannon Beach to a very high end summer camp for adults and families. The warm natural wood exteriors provide a rustic backdrop for the breathtaking native plants, perennials and long blooming annuals that color the property throughout much of the year. Fragrant garden paths with towering spruce trees meander between the various cabin-like buildings creating a sense of escape. The Inn’s central courtyard serves as a social gathering place for guests to come together in a beautiful woodland setting. Many find a sunlit bench the perfect spot to begin a new novel or to enjoy the wind in the trees. Our naturalized pond and it’s flowering borders is a center piece of the courtyard and attracts small wildlife and birds of many sorts. Voluptuous hanging flower baskets fill the walkways with fragrance and the occasional beat of hummingbird wings.Guest rooms are warm and inviting with all the comforts of home. The rooms are cozy and enjoyable on a stormy winter day with the fireplace ablaze and a good book. And when the sun is out, guests throw open the windows to enjoy the birdsong and salt sea air, taking their book outdoors.
I loved my experience at this hotel. It was just one night, I wish I had stayed longer. The hotel is very cute, pretty gardens all around the property. Staff is really friendly and the hotel is truly per friendly. They provide a water bowl and a bag full of cookies for the dog. They also leave a bag of candies in the room for the guests. A lot of small details that really make a difference. The room is simple, but big enough with a balcony. There’s a sink, a microwave, a coffee machine and a fridge. In the cabinets there were wine glasses and coffee mugs individually wrapped. The room as very clean as well. Breakfast is also really good, a lot of options for every taste. I will come back!

My husband and I stayed in one of king suites for our honeymoon and the view was gorgeous! They even provided a complimentary bottle of wine. We unfortunately caught Covid but the staff was very accommodating and made our stay comfortable. The only issue was the wifi signal was weak the entire stay.

The first thing to know about this hotel, is that there was recently water damage (I believe a pipe burst) which has meant that many amenities (sauna, hot tub, fitness center) are not currently available. The hotel was already making renovations, so I expect this to be a short-term issue. And while I understand why a hotel wouldn't want to advertise that many of its promised amenities are out of service to guests, it was highly disappointing to have to find out about this from an earlier TA review, not the hotel itself. It is their responsibility to inform guests of changes to the stay experience. Thankfully, Brandy at the front desk handled the situation on arrival. I appreciated her taking responsibility and offering constructive solutions. Brandy was a highlight of the staff. However, we continued to have small issues throughout the stay. The staff, beyond Brandy, was generally unfriendly and felt "checked-out." One member even bragged to us that he was leaving the hotel at the end of the week and didn't care about anything. Despite walking past the front desk every time, we returned to the hotel, we were never greeted. No "welcome back" or "How are you?" which was very odd considering how friendly Portland folks were (I often don't expect this type of interaction in more East-coast cities). Food and beverage options or lack of options, proved an issue for us. We ate at the rooftop restaurant on our first night. The food was really good, but was upstaged by pretty mediocre albeit nice, service. The bar was closed for the next two nights, one night for staffing issues, another for a private event. The real issue for us though was breakfast. Currently the hotel has no restaurant open for breakfast and instead has a cafe. This is fine and can be done really well (looking at you Sound Hotel in Seattle or Hilton Sedona at Bell Rock). Regrettably, the Portland Exchange (as the cafe is called) was almost entirely out of food two of the four mornings we were there. On the two mornings where they did have substantial food, they never had anything substantial for my lactose-intolerant husband (who wants a plain bagel?). It seemed crazy to us that in Portland this cafe was operating without any meaningful vegan option for breakfast. To add insult to injury, the breakfast burritos, which were the only hot breakfast item they had, when they were available, were $14! The F&B credit for diamond elites is $15, meaning that you cannot get a hot drink (starting at $2.50) and a breakfast burrito at this café. I will note, the burritos were good, but not $14 good. I mean they didn’t have truffle oil or anything fancy in them, they were just solid breakfast burritos. Now for some good. The rooms themselves are lovely. The bed was luxuriously comfortable and the hotel itself is clean and cute. Location is also good with easy connection to the MAX and streetcar systems. We were able to enjoy the pool most days and it was a solid pool. Overall, though, I’m giving this hotel four circles because every problem we had, is completely fixable. There wasn’t anything so wrong with this hotel that I wouldn’t recommend it and I would be willing to stay there in the future, assuming that the hotel is able to deal with the issues that were present this time around.

Located on a bluff, Bandon Inn overlooks Old Town Bandon, marina, Coquille River and the Pacific Ocean beyond. Miles of stunning beaches and ocean breezes, panoramic views, beautiful sunsets, world class golf and fine dining all come together to make your stay at Bandon Inn a memorable experience.
The room was clean and spacious. However, the refrigerator froze all of the food we brought with us. The breakfast was skimpy with only three items, two of which I could not eat. They wouldn't add extra items of the one item I could eat. The sink was very small, not suited for two people. Choices are limited for lodging, so this may be the best choice. The staff was friendly. The view was nice from our room.
