The BIG4 Port Willunga Tourist Park is located on South Australia's lovely Fleurieu Peninsula, we are just an hour from Adelaide and 10 minutes from the famed vineyards of the McLaren Vale. Walk to stunning beaches renowned for swimming, diving and surfing, enjoy local seafood and wine, or just relax in our peaceful, laid-back park.
Spent 2 nights there before heading to Cape Jervis to take a ferry to Kangaroo Island. After knowing that our campervan didn’t need a powered site, the kind and friendly reception staff helped us to downgrade ours to an unpowered site. A medium sized caravan park with plenty of trees and shades. It was the 2nd half of May and the park was quiet. The toilet was big and clean and the hot shower was good. Unfortunately the camp kitchen was under renovation and couldn’t be used. The down side of travelling in low season. Luckily there was a kettle in the laundry room. A short drive to Aldinga where both your stomach, car and fridge could be replenished.

We stayed in a cabin, that although had a comfy lounge and modern dining suite, was in need of updating. The bathroom vanity was very dated with cracks in it along with rust.... the toilet seat was so worn and aged that it was rough to touch. White goods were very old and needed to be replaced. Although the caravan park is in a great location, its cabins are in need of refurbishing.

There is also an outdoor common courtyard and deck for hotel guests for watching vineyard sunsets around a fire bowl. Australian continental breakfast provided.
We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel California Rd. The room was spacious and comfortable and the decor and vista were lovely. Breakfast items were supplied together with a couple of little treats. The only downside was that nobody was there to check us and another couple in at the designated time. Nobody answered the phone of the number given to call, and given the cold and wet weather, we had to sit in the car for over 30 minutes.

What a fabulous find these cottages were. Such a wonderful story of them being renovated back to life - enough history kept with a brilliant modern reno done to the interior. Hospitality second to none with a great array of breakfast items. Wonderful fireplace that kept the room cosy all night. Make a point of watching their DVD of how they took what was once derelict remnants of history and restored them with love and care. Perfect location - Just a short hop over the main road and you’re into the midst of McLaren Vale wineries. Highly recommend and would stay again in a flash.

Modern comfortable 3 bedroom beachfront townhouses, or luxury 2 bedroom spa townhouse. Self catering, includes all new appliances, Flat screen TV, DVD, BBQ, bedding and towels crockery and kitchen condiments. Secure parking in double garages, private backyards for the kids and close to all shopping, cafes restaurants and wineries. Great stopover for Kangaroo Island, or ideal base for exploring the Fleurieu Peninsula, Adelaide Hills and Adelaide.
We hired 3 of these apartments for a group of friends from all over the world to get together for a week to celebrate some milestone birthdays. It was so great to have everyone close together. Subsequently and as a local, I have recommended these townhouses to friends to stay and so I have seen most of them over the years. The townhouses were really well appointed with everything we needed. Comfortable beds and when the weather hit the mid 40's we were grateful for the air conditioning and proximity to the beach! John was fantastic to deal with from start to finish.

My husband booked this 4 night getaway as a surprise. 2 side by side, private units sit amongst a lovely garden setting. There is a solar heated swimming pool, tennis court and fire pit to enjoy. The unit is well set up with all you need to enjoy your stay. This includes a generous range of tasty breakfast provisions to cater for those who like either a full hot brekkie or continental fare. Amande is just a short drive away from many of the southern wineries, little townships and the seaside. Something for everyone and highly recommended.

Nestled into the Sellicks foothills as they meet the ocean, amongst our organic/biodynamic Shiraz vineyard and almond grove, the Old Chaff Mill Retreat dates back to the mid-nineteenth century. Gutted by fire a century ago, the building is now reborn as a unique luxury accommodation experience, with a spectacular architecturally-designed fitout celebrating its rich past.
We had a terrific time at the old chaff mill, a wonderfully modernised tribute to the old building. The accommodation was gorgeous, and the wine from their own vineyard was one of the best we had in the Vale (a surprise highlight!) Bernice and Richard were welcoming and accommodating and made us feel at home. Great location, a stone's throw to the beach and a close to some fabulous wineries.

We had a high tea here and it was absolutely stunning, the high tea consisted of a glass of wine and a large pot of tea . The tiered tray consisted of frittata, chicken and avocado sandwiches, lemon tart, strawberry shortcake tart, a custard tart and a beautiful custard and fruit tart. Our host happily took photos of us and then we had a wine tasting afterwards. We were very lucky to be shown the accomodation, it is absolutely immaculate and of the highest standard in furnishings, it’s on my wish list to stay here one day. The only change that I would make would be there choice of background music, they had a radio playing which did not quite set the mood for the whole place, though I think they may have changed the music just as we were leaving as it did sound more appropriate Aldinga is lucky to have such a beautiful location and I would not hesitate to recommend this place, it would be amazing for a wedding or function also but the owner did say that they can only accommodate up to 50 people for a function
Holiday Accommodation in the Scenic Rim Queensland.
