The Beaumont is an independent Victorian townhouse hotel in the centre of Hexham, with stunning views of the 6th century Abbey. Dine on local seasonal produce in our restaurant or enjoy a drink at the bar with the open kitchen and the Victorian Sele park as a back drop.
We only stayed one night, and were sorry to leave! Really efficient and friendly welcome on arrival, a spacious, well-appointed room, a really comfortable bed and an excellent bathroom! What's not to like? Dinner was really top-notch. I'd go to the restaurant again in a heartbeat - food was really precisely made, using a lot of fresh local ingredients. The waiting staff were excellent, as was the pannacotta was excellent. Breakfast was fab too. All in all, a pretty flawless experience. Best hotel I can remember in this price range.

Crossing over scenic Bridge End, relax at Berwick-upon-Tweed harbour before watching a show at The Maltings theatre. Excellent team on reception that despite being rushed off their feet constantly smiled and gave a warm and friendly service. Room looked freshly refurbished and bed was extremely comfortable. Didn't hear a thing all night despite being a light sleeper in unfamiliar surroundings.

We visited on the day that they started offering Sunday lunch. I had the pork and my husband had the beef (I was too excited to eat to take a photo of his!) the food was outstanding. Meat cooked perfectly, delicious crackling and the sharing portion of vegetables were served in lovely dishes. They said they change the meat offer weekly. We will definitely be back - weekly if we lived closer! We then had a fantastic stay with our newborn in one of the hot tub rooms. Comfortable bed, and very peaceful stress free stay!

Set on the delightful village green and overlooked by the magnificent Bamburgh Castle. The hotel offers exceptional standards, where you will experience a personal service and a warm welcoming atmosphere. Our hotel has everything you need for a delightful stay in Bamburgh - from modern en-suite accommodation with LCD TVs, to our relaxing Bar and Brasserie, serving only the best local produce from our region, all our food will be as fresh as the northern breeze, served throughout the day.
After visiting the castle we strolled up to the village and decided in Victoria Hotel. The restaurant was surprisingly quiet for lunchtime. Lovely surroundings and decor and there was seating outside the front. I had lamb shank with garlic mash and my partner had the steak and ale pie. My lamb was perfect but I was slightly disappointed in the mash as it didn’t taste garlicky and wasn’t buttery or creamy to my taste. My partner had hoped his pie would be a proper pie - that is completely in pastry. Sadly it was in a dish with a puff pastry topping so a bit of a cheats pie I would say. However, he got loads of meat when he emptied the dish onto his plate and polished the lot up! Bit on the expensive side. they do allow dogs which is great. Service very quick

Very happy with our stay. Left a phone charger in the room which was posted to our house the next day which was very much appreciated. Staff friendly. Only downside was that there wasn’t enough parking in the hotel car park and probably not all the cars were staying at the hotel.

The hotel is one of, if not the oldest, buildings in the picturesque market town of Wooler. It has recently been refurbished to give it a modern, hunting lodge feel. There is also a separate cottage with open plan living, up to 3 bedrooms and a private entrance with parking. Dogs are permitted, children welcomed and there will soon be a private car park for all guests. No.1 Hotel and Wine Lounge also serves tapas, afternoon teas, coffee, wine and cocktails everyday 11am - 11pm!
We visited with both our mums for a jubilee treat. Firstly the room that we thought most accessible was unbelievably hot. Blinds to a passageway so it felt very exposed and no opening window, plus if you did open the blinds there was a skip directly outside, the only other option had no window at all. We felt obliged to take that room and let our mums have rooms with opening windows. Luckily we were asked by a second member of staff if everything was ok and offered a fan which made it bearable. These rooms are expensive at £100 a night and there is no breakfast facilities at all. Dinner was ok but very expensive and ridiculously huge portion of sea bass that I could only eat half of. I would have been happier at 1/2 portion, 3/4 of the price. If you are paying over £20 for a main you might expect a wine list, not just we have a Sauvignon blanc, a Pinot Grigio and a Chardonnay. Pinot was a bit rubbish. There seems very little going on in Wooler, let's hope we can get breakfast somewhere this morning.
