The staff was so kind and went above and beyond for us. After our long day we were met at the entrance with fresh juice and read the dinner menu for the evening, which consisted of a delicious four course meal. The candle lit dinner overlooked the nile and a beautiful sunset. The morning breakfast included amazing fresh fruits, coffee, pancakes, eggs, and sausage! The rooms were clean and comfortable. There was a beautiful terrace for us to enjoy drinks after a long day out in the park. Would definitely stay here again.

George and Lilian have welcomed us warmly at Brownstone Country Home. Even before we drove through gates of their estate we were amazed by the tranquil agroforestry atmosphere. Additionally, the rooms are very comfortable and bed/mattress is good!! We were touched by the homely feeling since we were have dinner and breakfast inside the house. George was very interested in who we are and we had very pleasant conversations. The directions to Brownstone Country Home were not very clear to us, so drove towards a different direction indicated by Google Maps. Therefore, we would like to give you the proper directions just to help out: -from Lira city, take Akokoro road (which runs parallel to Soroti road. You follow Akokoro Road south for 10min when you see a brown signpost of Brownstone Country Home where you branch right and you continue straight until you reach your destination. If you feel comfortable to have telephone contact, visit Brownstone Country Home’s own website to find two phone numbers. We only stayed one night, but we would certainly visit the Home again!

A new hotel set in a quiet, leafy environment with well designed, attractive rooms. We have 14 rooms, all en suite with hot water, including 2 larger executive rooms, 10 double rooms and 2 rooms with twin beds. TVs are being fitted in all rooms. The prices of the rooms are considerably lower than our direct competitors. We have a good restaurant and a garden bar, as well as a conference room.
We had a great week at the Kanberra. There is a front gate along with a security guard on staff 24/7, and I felt incredibly safe my whole stay. The manager and staff were all attentive. The rooms/bathrooms are alright, but for the price and location, it was pretty great. I would definitely recommend!

Travelling around and staying in various budget safari camps and guesthouses arriving at Mount Moroto hotel was like reacching an Oasis after crossing the desert. OK it's not the Hilton but it's cool and calm, the staff are efficient and friendly and it has some sort of je-ne-ces- quoi (if that's how you spell it) - a place that has been running for a long time, seen it all... Be sure to check out the astonishing group of very life-like statues in front of the main entrance : Moshe Dayan, another Israeli officer , an African in a very smart suit , a Lion and some sort of flamingo-like bird. Who, why, when? I have no idea - a mystery. And yes, the hot water didn't work in my room ( to my relief - it was one of those where electric wires run in to the shower head, always a bit scary) - I asked for and recieved a bucket of hot water.

Our 10 tawny step thatched cottages are large and comfy with attractive furnishing making each one exclusive. They are open plan with a double bed and two single beds, including en-suite bathrooms. Their wide windows overlook the Albert Nile allowing you to sit back or lie back and soak in the view.
It's a great place to stay during your safari. The rooms are nice and staff is friendly. Great location by the lake! ps: if you are lucky enough to sit by the fire and listen to Onen Haron play some music you will have an amazing time.
