Downsides - No ramp up to the entrance, only stairs. We struggled with cases. Thank goodness no wheel chair or child in a stroller. Likewise there were no elevators, our 2 large cases were taken up because we literally couldn’t. There is a sheet of ‘useful information’ but it is in Hebrew only. I asked for another language but was told no. There’s a wonderful table of fresh drinks and cookies, absolutely beautiful we were not told about. We sat in our room drinking instant coffee before going out not knowing we were missing this delight Our room was out of the 70s with brown striped carpet, mean thin towels and a general grubby feel. We washed the kettle to get the grime off and the table etc. We could not reach into the safe. Why is it on the top shelf and not on the floor of the wardrobe. UPSIDES - The female receptionist was amazingly helpful with setting up the parking app and answering questions. The welcome bottle of water and medjool dates was a lovely touch. The flowers outside and lobby of the hotel were beautiful. I have noticed in many israeli hotels the public areas are 5 * and rooms 2/3*. Definitely the case here. The dining room, dining room staff and breakfast were exceptionally good. Definite bonus points for this. Great location.

The Spice Quarter Inn is a unique place where you can feel the desert energy, relax and enjoy the beauty of life. We are a newly renovated guesthouse located in the artistic quarter of Mitzpe Ramon. Whether you are a solo traveler, a couple, a family or a big group, we can offer you private rooms/suites, each with their own bathroom, or our unique dormitory style accommodation. The first dormitory is situated upstairs in the gallery overlooking the whole place, and the second dormitory is our authentic Bedouin tent. There you can enjoy sitting on pillows under starry night skies by the fire before snuggling into your colourful bed. We have a small kitchenette for our guests and we also have our very own in-house coffee shop where you can enjoy good coffee and delicious homemade food. We are a short walk from the famous Ramon Crater (Makhtesh Ramon) and just around the corner you will find the local art studios, pub, the best bakery and more surprises! The nearest supermarket is in
Dirty room, unorginized, nowhere to sit outside. Hosts were aggressive and ignoring important issues like the AC not functioning. Expensive but feels super cheap. Does NOT look like in pictures on a main road. some ripped bed sheets. I highly recommend to find another place in this beautiful area.

Stunning location, some brilliant architecture, mainly great food: but for the price it should have better customer service and be better customer focused (at least approaching what you would get at this price elsewhere around the world). Before travelling to Israel we had emailed the hotel asking about hotel services such as massages, trips etc: but nobody replied to us. Not a great start. Upon arrival at 1100hrs, our room wasn't available, which was fine and as expected: but at this price and in the middle of the desert it was plain rude not to be offered a drink of some sort (even of water) during the check in. Later in the day a bottle of wine was by reception, and a cold water container and glasses were on a table against the reception area wall, but it wasn't there mornings and evenings. Why?? The pool area is very nice, but in our 4 day stay no staff asked if we wanted to buy any drinks or food and the pool staff were generally cold faced and disinterested, unlike the very lovely dining room staff. One day I asked to buy food, but it was 4.15pm and apparently there is only food until 4pm. (No alternative was offered.) There are two water containers by the entrance area, but they use the smallest and cheapest plastic cups, which blow away in the wind (and it is windy) once you've used them. The only proactive interaction from the pool staff was to tell me that the pool was closed at 6pm, so I needed to hand back my (very nice) towels. It seemed like I could stay on the bed after 6pm, but wasn't allowed a towel on it. Seriously, at the price I paid to stay at the hotel?? By 5.30pm the pool staff are very demonstrably tidying away mattresses, umbrellas & pool loungers. You are literally in the desert and after 6pm is a lovely time to swim (especially if you've got kids) after the searing heat of the day. Why is the pool closing at 6pm? In fact, on the first day I was there, they shut it at 3 minutes to 6. Its pathetic. My pool room was very nice, but the TV didn't work properly and there's no modern sockets for chargers etc. The website says you get your room fridge contents for free. We had none when we arrived, so phoned reception and they brought us two small bottles of water and two small Cokes. That was the first and last time our fridge got anything put in it. You are in the desert and you should get given bottles of water in your room each day, especially at this price. The restaurant food is largely great, but the main courses were a bit disappointing in choice and quality. All of the above are very obviously first world problems that it feels pathetic to complain about, but its only because of the price bracket and what you'd get elsewhere. I've stayed in hugely cheaper hotels in Israel where water. fruit etc is all there for you to take...it kind of summarises an attitude to customer care.

We stayed for 2 nights with our 3 kids at this small B&B in the spice quarter of Mitzpeh Ramon. The building has a bit of an industrial loft/studio vibe with artists and travel businesses. Our room was spacious and very clean. Comfortable bed and a/c with a small kitchen, refrigerator, microwave, and hot water kettle. Breakfast was a huge spread of food served at our table with shakshuka, omelet, breads, yogurt, granola, Israeli salad, side dishes and more. The owner and other employees wore masks the entire time and everything was extremely clean. I particularly enjoyed sitting outside in the garden and seeing the beautiful desert plants all around. Wonderful visit!

A few steps from the cliff of Machtesh Ramon, About 900 Meters above sea level, The Silent Arrow Desert Lodge invites you all to breath the coolest desert air and enjoy the inspiration of the desert. For reasons of atmosphere and quality of life, the site is not connected to the electricity grid. We use solar lamps at night time to engage softly with the moon and star light. You are provided with shower and restroom facilities. There is always hot water for showering, which we recycle to water our garden. You are provided with a selfservice common kitchen that is accessorized, clean and tidy (no refrigerator). Free coffee and tea are provided. The site includes a sitting area for you to relax and enjoy the desert landscape. You can light a fire, prepare a potjiekos stew or make a barbecue.
Dror is a great host, very welcoming, helpful and relaxed. Incredibly relaxing stay, I regret I could not stay longer. He has good connections to locals who for instance rent Mountainbikes at low rates (which makes sense for visiting the crater when one does not have a car) and he is aware of the good places to go to when one wants to go out in mitzpe Ramon.

One of the best "Zimmer"experience we had! Beautiful and spacious apartment with a big terrace with a view on the desert (clean view) Very quiet neighborhood, easy parking. Hen is a very warm welcoming host that is listening and realizing your requests. Certainly not the last time we will visit our Desert Home.

Boutique hotel for the desert traveler - perfectly located for any trips around the area, Tzukim features comfortable and quality rooms, pleasant design, good coffee, fun and dedicated staff and and an off-site restaurant open 7 days a week.
The outside doesn't look like much, as the hotel constitutes one short floor above a few stores in a shopping center, but the room was one of the nicest I had in Israel including in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. The room interior and bathroom were completely modern and stylish and room was good size and very clean. It was the only room I had in Israel, including the Waldorf in Jerusalem, that had a USB port. The receptionist was very pleasant and helpful. There were a nice Israeli hamburger bar (the vegan burger was the only fat free offering) with an excellent selection of scotch, supermarket, bakery, and Israeli ice cream shop a few steps away across the parking lot. All in all, it was an excellent stay at an excellent price in the middle of the Negev desert.

Amazing vegan restaurant! They have rooms as well. It’s open during the weekend which is rare around here. Don’t miss it! We came across by accident, it seems that they don’t advertise much. The atmosphere is great fun music and warm welcome. We haven’t reserve any rooms but we’ll sure do it next time.
