Reviewed By Robin EWe have stayed here before. The room is extra large. The room was very clean. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. Breakfast is the standard hotel food. The breakfast area is very clean. Staff were friendly. Probably would not stay on the weekend due to the extreme increase in room prices. During the week, the price is excellent.

Reviewed By gayngarWe had such a pleasurable stay and definitely look forward to a return visit. Our room was very spacious, comfortable and pleasantly decorated. Our hosts were such a cute couple very welcoming and enjoyable to visit with. The breakfast…Wow!!! everything was delicious, you could taste and enjoy all the fresh ingredients so well prepared.

Dirty Hotel
Reviewed By roxannew473This property is by far the dirtiest hotel I have stayed. The bedding was stained and appeared to be dirty. The floor was dirty. There was a roach on the wall when we entered. The room smelled awful like mold and cigarette smoke. The toilet seat was broken/stained. There was mold and mildew on the wall and curtains from what appeared to be a leak. The stairwell was so stained, it looked like a murder took place.

Not what I was expecting
Reviewed By danmX7103WAThis pains me to write because the man running this place was just a nice guy. The exact type of person you want running your hotel. Unfortunately the room I was in was one of the worst I’ve ever stayed in. I’m a budget traveler so I’m used to 2-3 star hotels. I stay in about 20-30 hotels per year in 20-30 different cities. From the reviews and the pictures everything seems all good. First thing I noticed when we pulled in was that it was 95 degrees and no one was in the pool. I saw clothes hanging from the railing and I assumed they were wet pool clothes. Then I looked closer and it looked like aluminum foil over two windows and realized this is a hotel but also people live here long term. Then I looked into the pool and realized why no one was swimming here. It was just dirty. Check in went well. Really nice guy checked me in. On the way to the room I noticed two more rooms that had decorations and plants in the windows and a camera in the window facing the stairs. That door looked like some had tried to kick it in at some point. The room surfaces were clean. I wipe everything down myself just to be sure and the room was really cleaned well. The room itself was just falling apart. I used the toilet and when I went to flush the handle came off easily. So I had to take the top of the tank off to flush the rest of the time. The manager offered to come up and fix it but I said no. Because I’d only be there one night and because of covid. There was mold all over the inside of the shower curtain, dead bugs in every light cover and the baseboards were coming off the walls. There was an old SUV in the parking lot jacked up with no hood or tires., There was some kind of stain on my pillow case also. I looked up and noticed the smoke alarm battery door was open and there was no battery. I went downstairs to get a battery and put one in myself. I tested the alarm and it worked fine. There wasn’t any noise at night really other than the little dog in the room next door yapping away. They do have a big spotlight that lights up the parking lot for safety. No breakfast or lobby access. I checked in through a glass window with a mail slot on one side. Like I said earlier the people running the hotel were wonderful. It’s the actual hotel itself that needs a lot of love. It’s old and beat up. Even the stairs leading up to the second floor by the truck sitting on tires in the parking lot were sketchy. They all aren’t the same height so be careful coming down. This place could be such a nice place if someone could just invest some money and fix up the dated rooms and keep that pool clean.

Reviewed By Michael HThis entire property is dirty and in disrepair. Recent renovations are apparent, but seemed to be performed by unskilled workmen, not completed, and no consideration for guest needs. The reservation was for handicap accessible to insure first floor. The bath had no shower curtain nor rod for shower curtain. Also, no place to hang clothes. The next room offered smelled of stale smoke (but was said to be non-smoking room) It had an almost non-functional latch on the door, lacking a strike plate. Deadbolt of no use. Electronics on inside of latch were exposed. We did not feel safe. The floors were dirty. The plumbing fixtures were loose. We had booked for two nights, but left after one uncomfortable night.

New Accommodations in a Historic Hotel
Reviewed By stacybL83KGIf you're looking for modern accommodations in a historic hotel, this is the place! This hotel just soft-opened after a major renovation. Work is still progressing so we did see some areas unfinished and a few workers. The room was amazing! Everything is brand new from furniture to linens, and the hotel was built in 1927 so you still have that old school elegance and feel. We stayed in a King Suite on the second floor. It had a kitchen with dishes and utensils provided. The bathroom was huge! Both the "living room" and bedroom had TV's and ceiling fans. There is also a laundry room available for guest use. The room contained a binder with information on the history of the hotel and town along with listings for local food, shopping, attractions and even night life. There are several unique shops and a salon in the hotel, as well as a brewery under construction. And it's located downtown with more shops and restaurants within easy walking distance. There's even a rooftop patio with unbelievable views of the town! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Staff was extremely nice and friendly. It's not a full service hotel, more along the lines of an AirBnB. We definitely recommend it for those interested in historic properties and wanting to stay downtown with lots to see and do within walking distance.
