Located right in the centre of Verdun, overlooking the River Meuse, the former Officers’ Mess became a hotel and restaurant in 2016. Housed in an elegant 19th-century brick and stone building with a mansard roof, the hotel has a contemporary layout and design with the accent on well-being on all four floors. The foyer, hotel, restaurant, bar.
We visited Verdun for 6 days to explore the history and battlefields. This Hotel has the prefect location on the river. Our Junior Suite overlooked the river. The bathroom is enormous with the biggest bath I have ever seen. The staff are always on hand and very helpful. The Restaurant and Spa were closed due to Covid. You will not regret booking a stay here.

B&B Hotel VERDUN Profit from an attractive price and the immediate proximity to the major points of interest of Verdun! Our hotel is located in the area Village Louis Best that is just a few minutes away from the city center. Whatever the reason of your visit is, for business or for vacation, you will appreciate our hotel will all comfort located near the economic activity area Actipôle and not far from the battlefields of the Great War.
The hotel itself is very basic and in line with what I'd expect given the pricepoint, although the breakfast is way over-priced for its COVID version (six euro for a half-frozen croissant and some yogurt? hmm) and there was a lot of black mold on the ceiling in the shower that looked like they'd tried to paint over to hide. But then I got home and it turned out they charged me twice for my booking! I emailed the hotel twice and got no response; I tried calling and was hung up on when I stated why I was calling. Didn't even have the guts to try to pretend they were trying to fix the issue! I have now appealed to customer service with B&B Hotels in France. Regardless of the result there, I can hardly recommend this place, as at best now it'll be that they overcharged me and then tried to ignore me in the hopes I'd give up and accept them filching €130 from me.

I stayed at this hotel in October, On the first night I tried to pay at the machine. When I put my credit card into the machine the screen said this was not acceptable. I tried a second card and the transaction went through.I continued to use this 2nd card for the rest of the stay.On my return to the UK I discovered the stay on 14th of October 2019 was charged on both cards.I have been trying to recover the money ever since to no avail. They say the transaction didn't go through but I have proof from my card statements.

We spent 4 nights at this excellent Logis in late July. There were a number of Covid-19 safety measures in place which included no servicing of rooms during the stay, queuing for the buffet at breakfast to ensure only 2 people were there at a time and the obligatory wearing of masks inside unless sitting in the restaurant, however all was managed in a calm and professional manner, and was entirely appropriate for the current situation. The hotel appears to have been recently refurbished; our ground floor room was excellent, with a large wet room and balcony. The bed was very comfortable - probably brand new, and the fixtures and fitting were of a high quality. There were Fragonard toiletries in the bathroom. Towels were replenished whenever we asked and rubbish bins emptied if left outside the room. We booked half board - good value, with delicious options. Service was attentive and we were able to eat outside on the terrasse each night. There was a wide wine list which was well priced. The staff were friendly and helpful in all areas - readily giving advice about places to visit and local trekking paths. Lac de Madine and the national park had a range of leisure options, and Verdun, together with key battlefield sites and memorials from World War One were all within an easy drive of the hotel. We would definitely recommend this hotel and plan to stay here again next time we drive through France.

We stayed here for the second time, after we found this place four years ago. The village is so lovely, and so is Isabelle and her family. The house and rooms are fully decorated in the way you would like to do it yourself at home. The breakfast is truly delicious and with homemade confitures. In the village is even a wine cave where you can buy very good wines straight from the grape yards surrounding the village. There is plenty to see and do in the area, and every time we wonder and kind of cherish the big hurdles of tourists haven't found it yet. We will definitly come back and stay with Isabelle and her family again.

A charming B&B at the heart of Verdun. The best place to stay for your trips in the region!
We stayed at this place on our way to Normandy and it was a wonderful experience. We enjoyed every moment there. The house itself is great but what sets it completely apart is the host. Béatrice is extremely helpful and kind, helps you find your way around the city and, on top of it all, she is an excellent cook. We were a family of six and we all simply loved everything that she made. One of the local specialties which she let us taste was the “crème de mirabelles”, a local liqueur which is served with wine. We liked it so much we wanted to take some home with us and she did not hesitate to go and buy it for us along with the wine which she went to get from her wine-seller. Thank you so much, Béatrice. If we go back to France, we will definitely stay at your place again, Eva

Our last night in France and we turned up once more with no reservation. The owner was very helpful and moved a few things around to accommodate three in one room. The room was recently refurbished I think, well decorated, clean and very comfortable. A great demi pension deal was offered and the food was outstanding, well presented local produce, tasty and great value. Breakfast was also good. Undercover secure parking was an additional bonus and the grounds are secure with an automatic gate also. Very helpful and pleasant staff. A recommended great stop if in this area.

Self-checking when no one at the desk took us by surprise and we had problems getting in. Tiny room with sink in the room and shower stall opening directly into the bedroom Hardly any space for suitcases, really basic. However, it's the only hotel in Bar-le-Duc, the room was clean and the staff pleasant. Breakfast not included, but served downstairs (fairly basis but enough)

We booked this on line via booking.com and the details looked OK but don't be fooled. Upon arrival after a long drive from Italy first impressions were not good. The building itself looked very tired and there were some dubious characters hanging around outside the entrance which made my wife feel very uncomfortable. When we checked in the receptionist hardly spoke a word of English, which is fine as we are in France but wasn't particularly helpful, advised us the restaurant was closed and made no effort to help with alternatives. We were given a shabby looking key with a an old fob attached and directed to our room, she merely pointed in the direction!! On walking up the stairs, the place became darker and more smelly as we went. Upon entering our room, we were horrified, it was more like what you'd expect a prison cell to be like. Basic wasn't the word, dank, smelly, no facilities whatsoever, the most unwelcoming looking bed you could imagine with a pillow each the size of a postage stamp. Yes, there was a nice view from the window but that was the only positive. My wife nearly in tears said she could not stay there, so luckily we managed to find an alternative and left. Very dissspointed that such a place is even listed on booking.com which we have used a lot before. Avoid if I were you.
