Mauritius is arguably Africa’s wealthiest destination, a tropical paradise with tons to do. Port Louis, the modern capital of this 38-mile by 29-mile island, is a bustling port with a revitalized waterfront and a busy market. But most visitors gravitate toward resort areas such as Mont Choisy, quiet Trou-aux-Biches and the more bustling Flic en Flac, popular with scuba divers. Rivière Noire is ideal for those looking for great deep-sea fishing.

A new experience awaits guests at this beautiful all-inclusive beach hotel in Mauritius, located in Bel Ombre, on the island's south-west coast. Tamassa, a 4-star beach hotel, stands at the end of a long avenue of mature coconut palms towering skywards. A picture postcard landscape stretches across sugarcane fields to the mountains beyond. The south-west is a beautiful part of Mauritius, with spectacular walks and drives through lush, tropical hillsides and a range of open-air activities in beautiful countryside. In front of the beach hotel, beyond the sandy beach, lies a turquoise lagoon that almost blends into the skyline. The sea air is invigorating and the ripples of the waves gently calming. Beyond, lie thousands of miles of open sea. The traditional style architecture ideally suits the tropical setting, with beautifully landscaped gardens. The buildings seem at one with the environment. The decor is breathtakingly contemporary, with clean lines and bold use of colour. The atmosphere is one of eternal youth, friendly, cheerful and enthusiastic. Tamassa is a new Mauritian experience!
The staffs are very reliable, courtois and very helpful. They make us feel comfortable. Really appreciate my stay there. A big clap to all staffs . Keep it up. It’s a lovely place and very neat. My stay was too short to enjoy the 3 swimming pools.

The new Sunrise Attitude faces one of the most beautiful beaches in Mauritius at Belle Mare, located along the preserved east coast. It’s known for its miles of white sand and stunning turquoise lagoon. This new 4* hotel is reserved exclusively for adults and is a serene hideaway, taking design inspiration from the beautiful surroundings: the terracotta and mustard gold earth tones, the leaf green and glimpses of blue. Arrive and gaze over the ocean, which is just across the road, taking a deep breath of fresh, sea air. In addition to these seaside holiday pleasures, the plus are the beach service and his typically Mauritian cart in attendance on the beach, the Otentik Experiences offered as well as the serenity of the spa POZ. Last but not least, the new restaurant Kot Nou and its typically Mauritian cuisine!
From check in to check out, and everything In between, our stay was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, particularly Emmanuel and Vicky who always greeted us with a genuine welcome each day. There was always someone near to assist, but not in the helicopter way that’s grating after a while. It has all of the luxury, without the unnecessary pompousness. The food was the star of the show, undoubtedly the best I’ve ever eaten. The nearby beach is beautiful, great for sunbathing and snorkelling. 100% recommend and hope to be back!

From the moment we arrived we could tell this place was different from many other hotels / resorts. We were sat down with a welcoming drink and a member of check-in staff came to join us, completed all the necessary documentation, arranged our LFT in a room 5 meters away which was completed in 5 minutes, told us all about the resort, gave us maps, dinner schedules, entertainment schedules and much more. As we had arrived early our room wasn't yet ready but the guy took us to the buffet restaurant, Oasis, and told the bar man that we had arrived and what package we were on, he also told the the chaps at the entrance to the restaurant and that meant we could use both facilities while we waited for our room. We didn't wait long, the room was ready at 2 as they said it would be. We were then taken, in a golf buggy, which there are lots of as the resort covers quite a lot of ground so a lift is often welcome, you just flag one down as it passes or you ring 0 from your room and they come for you, to our room by Rosha. He was great, very helpful with our luggage and took us through everything in our room, air con etc. He also took us back to reception at the end of our stay and was just as helpful with our luggage and getting us into our taxi. The room was spacious, had everything we need with an extra large king size bed with beautiful soft cotton sheets. It even had an outside shower room but we were advised against using it because of issues with mosquitos. We didn't need it though because our inside shower was the biggest wet room I have ever seen in a hotel and Ive stayed in lots around the world over the years. One small issue we had was that in the super large bathroom was the open wardrobe, it was OK but when the room got steamy so did your clothes, it might be an idea to split the two areas with a stud wall, as the space is big enough. We did find that the information you find online about the resort, either their own site or agents sites is a little sparse and somewhat confusing. Simply we don't think they do themselves justice. For example there is no mention that along the expansive beach front there are a number of small huts that serve drinks to you while you are on your sunbeds and have a never ending supply of towels, if they don't have something they also send off to the main bars to get it for you, they are fantastic and the guys that looked after us were superb, so helpful, so polite and nothing was too much trouble even down to coming round and offering to clean our sunglasses for us, brilliant - big thank you to Robert and his team, Sanjay, Sameer and Adey. They also do not explain the Escape Package properly and unless you book directly with them you cannot book it on an agents site, you have to wait until you arrive and then book it. To be clear the Escape Package is an all inclusive drinks package (not top shelf or premium drinks) as if you book a half board package they automatically include lunch so your on full board. The Escape package works out about £50 per head per day and you might think that a little steep but when you consider it includes water, drinks cocktails on the beach or around the pool, drinks at lunch or dinner, predinner drinks and a sundowner then with the prices for individual drinks you soon reach £50 (or do I just drink too much....) The restaurants, there are 6 of them, Oasis is a buffet serving breakfast, lunch and dinner; La Caravelle is a buffet for breakfast and then al a carte for lunch and dinner, you then have 3 other restaurants, an Asian, an Indian and an Italian which don't serve breakfast or lunch but serve al a carte each evening. The 6th restaurant is Le Plage, and as the name depicts is on the beach, this serves a la carte every day but only opens on certain nights for dinner a la carte, Kevin and Chintoo were brilliant here and very helpful at lunch time. We only visited once at night and they weren't around, this was unfortunate because although the setting was fantastic, the food superb, the service left a little to be desired with staff running around looking quite disorganised At the Oasis there is also a bar were you can just sit and watch the sunset, a memorable sight and then there is a second bar in between the Caravelle and the Italian restaurant, lovely place, great service and thanks to Chris and Isabelle who looked after us on numerous nights. Ive mentioned a few staff as I cant recall the names of all those that looked after us in one way or another but what I can say that they were the most genuine, helpful, polite, courteous staff I have ever had the joy to meet, they are a credit to the Beachcomber. The standard of food was excellent wherever we ate, and we visited all of the restaurants and the house wine, a South African Cab Sav for me and Chardonnay for my wife were always very pleasant. This was especially noticeable on our last night, we had booked the Italian as it was one of our favourites and Roshan, who had looked after us on our first night found out that we were coming again. After a pre-dinner cocktail over looking the ocean we moved across to the Italian restaurant only to be met by Roshan who had reserved us a table on the front, again overlooking the ocean and on our table was a bottle of the Cab Sav breathing nicely and in an ice bucket next to the table was my wifes chardonnay, all in all that's pretty impressive, and very much appreciated service, thanks Roshan (keep up the running and cut out the cigarettes). All in all we had a fantastic time at the Beachcomber and although Ive made one or two comments were I think things could improve nothing was too major to impact on our holiday, we had a wonderful time and we will, most definitely, return

Very nicely welcomed by all. The hotel looks fairly simple but very cosy and full of potential to make you have a great time with your partner. The menu was nicely explained to us by a great guy named Sanjay. He is just awesome. Loved the food, the people and the time I spent there. Highly recommended!

Amazing honeymoon at one of the best resorts I've ever stayed in. From the first day to last everyone was super friendly and helpful and made our stay so enjoyable. You always feel like you don't want to go home after a holiday but this time was very hard to leave Special mention to our room cleaner Bundhoo who did a grand job and left a surprise for us everyday, Viresh Kumar & Anoop (Banyon team) who looked after us throughout the day and bought us a coconut every morning, Jean-Christopher & Pascal at Beach Rouge and Koushal & Ootam at the Palm Tree Bar who make the best cocktails and drinks suggestions at night. We'll definitely be back, thanks for a wonderful stay

We had an absolutely lovely stay. Everything about the hotel from start to finish was fantastic. The food was very very good, and the wine tasting / cellar visit was a real treat. The staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful - nothing was too much bother. We stayed in one of the junior suites on stilts, which had a wonderful private balcony looking over the barachois. We really can't recommend this hotel enough - it should be on any list of the best hotels in the world, and we have already made plans to go back for future anniversaries.

This hotel has the most amazing views and the service from the staff is amazing. In particular Roy and Balmick who have now become our family friends - both have provided us excellent service and knowledge of the island. They recommended us things to do on our iteanrry which made our holiday even more wonderful. One day we had to leave very early for a boat trip and Roy helped arrange breakfast for us extra early. Because of this service from the staff I will be coming back to Paradis Beachcomber and would recommend to anyone. If you come make sure you say hi to Roy and Balmick, the most nicest people on this island. Thank you Paradis Beachcomber!
