Reviewed By MegarushingThey announced a garage but turns out it is too small and we had to leave the car outside. The price is way too high to what they offer. The pool and games room are just for show as they are closed early in the day. The owner treated us poorly which made us decide to leave and look for other place, I do not recommend

Reviewed By NOLA561We just spent two weeks and loved it. We had a roomy studio with a kitchenette area that was nicely decorated and very clean. The real selling point though was the entire staff! Each and every one... the Food was EXCELLENT 5 star Service All The Way...

Good place for visiting Ouro Preto and the nearby gold mine
Reviewed By GypsgrisIf you have a car this is a good place to stay. They have free parking and the rooms are clean and quiet. We slept well. Bathrooms are also clean and with sufficient space. Within a 2 minute walk you can be at the new exercise/walking trail in Mariana for a leisurely or invigorating walk. The breakfast is ok but not great. The main drawback is the lack of a restaurant close by. You can walk to the city center but it is about 20 min. You also can take a taxi from the hotel, if you plan to drink. The gold mine is only about 5 min by car - you could walk to the end of the new walking trail (2 km) and go to it from there another approx. 0.5km. If you drive to Ouro Preto take the first right (going past the mine); do not take the highway - it is much more difficult to enter the city that way.

Reviewed By thiagop1982Hotel is well maintained with nice staff. well located but parking is basically on the street. Rooms are neatly furnished. Toilet is nice but with electrical showers so do not heat as much as the gas ones.

Reviewed By J MMinas Gerais is not a place where we find luxury hotels to stay, but we will find the best hospitality from the "mineiros" (people from Minas). this hotel is not an exception, the owner welcome us like in our home. rooms are simple but very clean and the breakfast is country stile, gorgeous! the place is a quarter of a mile from Passagem mine where you can visit and go down 150 meters under the ground.

Reviewed By LenirlThis place is average, but unfortunately I had a few bad notes on my stay which made me downgrade my rating to "poor". It is clean enough; close enough to a few things, including the bus terminal; it has a decent enough breakfast, nothing special about it. There is no air conditioning or fans in the room - I did not need them, but I can imagine it gets much hotter during summer. They have a rooster that woke me up at 4am every day. The people were non-committal: the boy at the front desk had a wooden face. The owners were a bit nicer. They do not accept credit or debit card, which was a bit annoying, considering we were a group of seven people traveling on business and everybody had to bring cash. On the other hand, I had a very bad first impression when, after booking it in advance through a website that had a lot of flashing signs saying "no upfront payment", I received an e-mail about two weeks before my arrival asking me to deposit half the total amount of my reservation. Well! I thought it was no upfront payment. I complained and they said I should have read the fine print, which apparently said they could request a 50% payment at any time. Too bad there were all those huge signs saying the opposite. Considering I felt somewhat cheated by that, and considering there were no highlights to my stay, I will certainly look for another place next time I am around.

The nature surrounding the entire hotel , the sound of birds , the sources , of nature is a wonderful feeling that we find there. All very clean and very good breakfast. The owner Nivalda always very helpful and friendly, their staff always ready to help you and please you . We'll be back . Recommend for sure.

Delightful oasis
Reviewed By Lids745Driving along the street to the pousada, I was worried...a lot of poor buildings, but a lovely surprise when I got to the address. You can drive into the property leaving your car off the street. The family operating the business live downstairs, pousada upstairs. Accommodation was very comfortable, lovely swimming pool, spacious shower and breakfast was delicious! Attentive customer service from the owners, with english translation service provided by their teenage son and daughter! I recommend staying here and driving into Ouro Preto early in the morning, parking the car and walking around, rather than staying in Ouro itself. (A bewildering array of very hilly one way streets badly signposted and great difficulty finding one's hotel; and a long walk to the main squares as well).
