The Boutique Hotel Ilio (only 20 rooms in a familiar atmosphere) is set in the midst of a magnificent green landscape, the ideal place for a relaxing holiday where the sea is "really" just outside your door - ideal for snorkeling, diving and kayaking. The mountains that surround the gulf of Cape Sant'Andrea offer the possibility to go hiking, mountain biking, and are of great botanical interest. We have prepared ourselves to deal with the summer season with a new holiday philosophy, choosing to accompany our guests in discovering the best of local cuisine on Elba, personally selecting and testing in a guidebook - Maurizio Testa's HI GUIDE - the best of catering on Elba . From 8:00 to 23:00, the Hi Bar is open to guests, with a selection of Tuscan wines, beverages, coffee bar and excellent aperitifs.
We spent four nights on Elba and in this beautiful boutique hotel and enjoyed our stay very much. In fact. we thought that this location was more than prime - our seaside room was so spacious and beautifully decorated - and featured a super-quite A/C. Listening to the waves at night (sometimes also some drunk young people who chose to hang out a the beach at 4 AM ;-)) and waking up looking at the sea from our comfy bed. The breakfast offered everything we needed and the staff was very sympathetic and attentive. Sant' Andrea is a more remote area on Elba which we preferred of Portoferraio since it feels a little bit more exclusive to us. There are plenty of restaurant options in the vicinity (walking distance) and the sea/beach is beautiful (though very full - we were there in August just before ferragosta). A coastal walk brings you to beautiful rocky shores where you can jump into the sea. Just perfect. Thank you, Hotel Ilio Team, for making our stay a special one.

When we return to Elbe we will return to the Hotel Barsalini. This is a family operated hotel run with pride and good customer service. Davide answered all our questions by email before we booked and he and his wife made us feel welcome when we arrived. The hotel is well situated, just a short stroll down to the sandy beach at Sant'Andrea. It has a nice pool plus spa facilities, lovely common areas - outdoor and indoor bar and lounge areas, dining room with indoor and deck seating, deck chairs and a gazebo for relaxing with a great view. Our room, #29, was compact, modern and nicely furnished with ample storage space, a comfortable bed with good linens, tiled floor, TV, phone, safe, ensuite bathroom with shower, lots of hot water and plenty of towels, and a balcony furnished with a small table and 2 chairs with a view to the beach...and a drying rack for bathing suits. Rooms have individual entrances from outside. Housekeeping was good, rooms and common areas kept very clean. The included buffet breakfast was very good and included cold sliced meats, cheese, yogurt, cold cereals, eggs, sausages/bacon, a nice selection of baked goods and hot/cold beverages. We elected to take the ½ board option and have dinners in the hotel dining room as well. These were excellent! Some of the standouts were the gnocchi with nut sauce, veal with hazelnut sauce, fungi & mussel pasta and for dessert, the panna cotta and the Elbe Schiaccia Briacca cake with traditional sweet Aleatico wine. The hotel has an associated beach restaurant, the BarsaTime Bistro, at which hotel guests get a 15% discount. Hotel wifi and parking are free. First, I recommend visiting Elbe and second, when you do, I recommend staying at the Hotel Barsalini.

A house open to imagination and an enchanted garden in the wild heart of the island of Elba. The Cernia is a house greeting its guests with love. Its interiors say a lot about the care for particular that keeps on drives this place. The Cernia is also an enchanted garden where to rediscover the child that is within all of us. It is an art hotel and a curious and fine cooking restaurant that, while keeping a view to Mediterranean customs, grounds its roots in Tuscan traditions. First of all the Cernia is a place where people greet other people.
We expected a pleasant hotel, but were almost overwhelmed by the unbelievably gorgeous gardens of Cernia. Even after staying there for more than a week, we continued to find new wondrous corners, maintained with obvious love by the family. Even with the beautiful sandy and rock beaches a short walk away, the hotel pool is a very welcome haven, especially on hot summer days. As we were staying for more than a week, we were worried that the dinners (we had half-board) may become repetitive, but we were very wrong about this: every meal was different, and able to compete with any star restaurant. The four-course dinners were absolute treats, and light eaters like me can choose to skip some courses. Even if you're not staying at the hotel, go to Cernia for lunch or dinner: it's by far the best place to eat at Saint' Andrea! The rooms are all different and wonderful, from the small ones to the spacious suites. But ultimately, what makes or breaks a hotel is its people, and Cristiano and his staff have made this the true gem that Cernia is.

Hotel Il Perseo, by the owners, is situated in Chiessi, a small unspoiled village overlooking Corsica. Where, in addition to a crystal clear sea, there are excellent starting points for walking along the paths of the Tuscan Archipelago National Park. Through which you can reach all directions. so relax in one of 21 rooms with air conditioning and heating, complete with minibar and flat-screen satellite TV. In this Hotel you can count on parking and free Wi-fi in all rooms and public areas, plus support for tour / ferry tickets. Also give yourself a bit 'of peace in the garden by the sea with Jacuzzi, sun beds and umbrellas. Among the hotel amenities you will also find a bar / cafe, tobacco and newspapers, as well as a restaurant serving delicious dishes of fish, but where there will be vegetarian and meat (including gluten free).
This hotel charges high end prices, but offers very low quality. In particular, avoid the Hotel dinner. I got extremely nauseous after dinner- probably the salad bar- and had severe vomiting the entire night. I was on an extended bike tour with my son and we had to keep riding the next day, so I forced myself to get up and eat breakfast, however by 8:30 in the morning virtually all of the breakfast options had been eaten and the hotel staff would not replenish the food. Very surprising for a 140 euro stay. The hotel is clearly understaffed and the quality is lacking. Worst night of our trip that spanned Austria and Italy.

The seafood was of really good quality. All the dishes were very tasty and not usually found in other restaurants. Particularly good was the cartoccio. The staff was very professional and nice. The view from the terrace is breathtaking, worth going before the sunset.

Our hotel's origin go back at the end of '800. Our hotel is 200 mt from the sea in the quiet village of Pomont. Hier you find a good quality of ospitality, good cooking and attentions to details. Ecological Hotel.Ideal place to trekking bike, snorkeling, sub....All year.
We were a bit disappointed about this hotel after all the good ratings here and on other sites. The staff was very friendly and hospitable indeed. And the location is quite good as it is only a couple of minutes walk to the shops and restaurants in the small village of Pomonte as well as to the nearest pebble beach. However, we found our room to be clean yet basic and outdated. The fan of the airco was aimed directly at our pillows. The bathroom and especially the shower were small. The balcony faced a wall and the neighbor’s garden. And the WiFi was slow and completely unsecured. Also dinner and breakfast could really use a quality boost as everything was very basic for Italian standards. Even for July we felt we really paid too much for the service provided. Overall we rate hotel Corallo 3/5. We do not recommend others not to go here, also because the owners are really good people who certainly deserve a second chance. However, because of the absence of any WOW factors during our stay we will probably not return ourselves.

In a few words...this has got to be one of my favourite places for a peaceful, cultural and natural holiday in Italy. Beautiful location with stunning views...lovely clean and spacious rooms with balcony...but the best part is the staff and the gentle yet efficient flow of the service and atmosphere...perfetto!

The Hotel Sardi is located at Pomonte, a small and characteristic town on the Western side of the Island, dominated by the Monte Capanne massif. The complex is just a few meters from the gravel beach and from the cliff overlooking a crystal-clear sea, where in the evening unforgettable sunset can be contemplated in absolute peace and quiet.
We travelled during the high season (early august 2018) and we must say we were highly pleased by the hotel. The restaurant is good and all the staff is super great (always available and very friendly). The room are good and quiet. You can trust this hotel
