As the name reveals, Desert Hills Lodge sits atop a small outcropping in the South-west central desert area of Namibia, close to Sossusvlei, a UNESCO world heritage site and popular attraction. The unique architecture of the lodge was inspired by the original nomadic inhabitants of the arid plains. Each room has air-conditioning and faces East towards the magnificent Namib sunset.
Amazing, it was one of the best place to stay during our trip. The view is breathtaking and the facilities luxurious. The staff was very nice, meals were excellent even if breakfast could be improved a bit. We definitely recommend to visit this place.

Great place to stay, good rooms, super views and good host! We were here with our wedding party and were amazed by the accommodation and the staff. Tjaard was really helpful and especially the private campsites were of high quality.

The location is great-beautiful view. Unfortunately we stayed only one night. Certainly worthwhile to stay at least 2 days to visit the surroundings and the farm. Jochem is a super friendly host and has a lot of stories to tell. Breakfast great - diner baie lekker !

I wasnt expecting much when we got to the hotel on a hot afternoon. When I opened the front door and went in, that all changed. It is a beautiful old building full of Africana as well as a bar that can only arise from many years of service to customers from countries all over the world. As you through the rear exit you are greeted by a green oasis which really surprised us. You will be greeted by friendly, extremely competent, well spoken Liesel who, in my opinion, is pivotal to the success of this business situated in a place with very limited resources. Liesel knows everything, from booking in, serving at the bar as well as dining. An employee who is a huge asset. I found everything better than expected, by far. As far as hotel experiences go that I have had around the world, this hotel exoerience was in my top 5 most memorable ones. If you are going to be in the area you really should add it to your to do list. We all had a GREAT time and enjoyed our stay thoroughly.

Neuras is one of four winemakers in Namibia and that seems to be their USP. Rooms dark and a bit worn down. Bathroom from the 1970 . . . . Staff totally uninterested. When I told them that the water heater in the bathroom was not working they just shrug their shoulders. Food was OK but not great. Wine tour was a joke! Guide had no idea how their products were produced. I learned that Rum is made from grapes. The best of the tour was the wine tasting at the end. The tour guide just poured us four glasses of wine, confused the different blends and left without a word. Our recommendation would be to drive 50 km westwards and take a much better lodge their.

My cheapest accommodation in Namibia, but definitely better than some of the more expensive ones. My expectations were exceeded and the sleeping comfort was very high. Breakfast and dinner were very good. I don't really like free-roaming dogs. Tethered and out of my reach and my plate, I much prefer dogs.

We are a small intimate lodge in the south of the Namib desert bordering the NamibRand Nature Reserve. It is located away from the main road, ensuring peace and quiet, no passers by and no interruptions. The lodge itself is comfortable and perfectly suited for just relaxing at the pool, downtime from travelling, catching up on travel journals, stargazing and simply watching the view. We largely depend on Solar power thus limiting our carbon footprint in this sensitive area. A central charging facility is located in the lounge/dining room area where guest are welcome to charge any gadgets if needed. We offer scenic drives and walks. These traverse the property and give our guests an impression of the vastness of the land and the incredible adaption the resident animals here make. The meals are freshly prepared by our resident chef using mostly home grown produce when seasons allow it. A well stocked bar with a small but versatile selection of wines, beers and cool drinks are available for your enjoyment. Come and experience true desert hospitality!
This is an undiscovered jewel in the Namib. Everything from gravel plains to rocky koppies to red dunes to camel thorns to enormous weaver nests to oryx and a musical mountain (I kid you not - a glockenspiel-hill!) all on the same property, expertly run.

Coming from the kilometer long access road you really feel like arriving in an oasis. Really green with 3 cheetahs, an ostrich and more animals beloning to the place. The food was amazing and the staff is very lovely and friendly. The cheetahs are fed every evening and this is amazing to watch. We definitely recommend this place to everyone.

We stayed here twice; once on our way to Walvis Bay and the second on our way back home. It is in a stunning location in the desert with absolutely nothing around! We loved the pool - it was a lifesaver in the heat! And our dogs had a wonderful time! The sunsets are spectacular!
